The best build with this duo boon is staff + mirrored thrasher + warmth gain. Try it out :) But the same principle can be applied to other aspects too: fast magic drain + fast magic regen. Like omega cast build with geyser spout + lucid gain. Many smol bonks > one occasional big bonk
You can use this build on Mirrored Thrasher (Witch's Staff hammer, your attack hits 2 times, but uses 5 magick) and Hestia's Magick Regeneration boon. All other boons, duos are same. Its one of most underrated build ever.
God I fucking wish. Although it might not work that way because tranquil gain restores your Magick at a *rate* equal to X% of your total per second rather than suddenly getting say, 60% of your Magick all at once, and the ICD screws it over I think. Also being moved by an enemy's attack does turn it off..
IMO, Incandesence goes best either on Charon + Lucid Gain, or with Born Gain + any build that can spend mana fast. This is definitely a funny build though, reminds me a bit of Arthur builds where you'd stack damage reduction and vengeance effects.
Yeah someone else suggested torches and that's probably the best option, but Melinoe's staff works well too with the omega speed buffed, especially with the hammer that both gives a mana cost to attack, and make all attacks hit twice or the special hammers that increases the cost if you're using the omega special to deplete your mana. The omega special is probably the best form of this build with Staff because buffing the cost of the omega special requires one fewer god than buffing the cost of the omega attack. That's the small issue with the torch build, if you want to get the full build, you'll need to be greedy and get a fifth god in the pool on top of needing one legendary and 2 duos: Hera/Hestia/Heph for the duos, Born again and Blood Line, Apollo's legendary for +20 cost and a massive damage increase, and Demeter for the +10 omega attack cost. It's the least important part but if you want the full build you need it. While the omega special version swap Demeter for Hestia which is already in our god pool so we get away with 4 gods. Lucid gain is nowhere near quick enough for our purpose, sometimes you spend 400 mana in less than 2 seconds with that build. It's Born Again or Circe's staff or maybe Hephaestus' regen but as we saw here, you'd need to proc it often which runs into the issue of Incandescent Aura having an internal cooldown, so yeah Born Again or Circe's staff, no other real alternative. For the Charon version though, Lucid Gain is probably enough if you get a higher rarity or pom it a bit but it's also nowhere near as good because Incandescent Aura gets better when you spend hundreds of mana per second which Lucid Gain cannot keep up with. Still it's a nice boost to Charon's damage every hit of the omega special.
I used a Staff with very quick omega attack and bloodline/Demeter Omega boon/Apollo legendary, and those two duo boons + Born Gain (although someone suggested staff of circe for regen instead of born again, would probably work but I like Born gain for the big hits and it avoids the issue seen here with the internal cooldown from incandescent aura). It was pretty powerful. I ended up killing Prometheus fairly quickly, and 30% of the total damage to prometheus was done by Incandescent aura. That being said, Torches would certainly be even better for sure with the exact same build I used although Bloodline on its own deals so much damage on torches that I'm not sure Incandescent aura would have time to do much xD
Love the idea of Incandescent Aura but it needs too much. 1. You need a good way to always be low on magic. 2. You need an appropriate way to restore magic. 3. You need to be in close range while restoring the magic. Like cummon, do I need to buy you dinner too?
I have to keep myself from eating a sleeve in a sitting. They are THAT good. Guarantee dude isn’t drowning them in milk. That is an absolute NECESSITY. If you don’t have milk they are a 6/10

I don't drink coffee often. If I get a bagel on my way to work I might get coffee with it, otherwise nah. I'll get my caffeine from soda during some lunch times anyways LOL even if I get it with my bagel, I don't refill it at work or anything, 1 cup per day max. if I wanted "just a drug", I've got my adderall prescription for that love this trio of boons idea, I remembered that it didn't work before, glad it works now for whatever reason, especially the damage taken to damage dealt ratio. feels like we're almost back in Balatro tryna get some specific setups going on haha. Remember folks, even if it's not a good build, it's still good content (and we're making Dan do it so we don't have to go through the effort ourselves, which makes this double good). Almost wish we could've had the discordant bell from the start because it would've been double upsides LOL
If you want big bonks, forget Brave Face and just spend all magic and trigger Incandescent Aura with Born Gain. If you have 500 max magick and spend it all, you deal 2500 damage (maybe higher, since other bonuses might add to it).
i just tried this myself and i think i found the most optimal build even though i didnt get incandescent aura. what u need is aspect of thanatos with executioner's chop + hell splitter. u basically just keep spamming the attack which spends 20 magick each strike. it's fast enough that u can still avoid damage when u need to but slow enough that u can get hit at times if ur out of magick. just finished this run with my arachne dress still intact for the first time 🤯🤯 amma try it again and hope to get incandescent aura and may even fine tuning
Oreos are unbelievably good. I have to stop myself from moaning when i eat them absolutely soaked in milk. I eat them with a spoon and let it drown in milk for 30 seconds.
I will never understand the thought process behind deliberately not using Artificer that Dan has 😂 It could help putting a god in the pool early, or just getting max health/HP/money. What are you holding on for, exactly? It makes no sense to not use it when given the chance. You always end up not using all of the 3 charges, or worse, not using it at all😵💫
I think because it might end up putting a god he doesn't want in the god pool, which would also make rolling miniboss doors slightly harder and could enable duos he isn't going for, past erebus he definitely forgot to use em lol
You don't want to do it early if you are trying for a specific build because while your god pool is not filled, you can get ANY god from it, which then fills your pool.
@@shadix2026 I see that happening, however, that's very unlikely here. In this build, he only needed 3 gods, leaving one slot open. Given that he would use Artificer each time he could, and that he wants 3/8 gods, meaning that the fourth one could be any of them, the chances of filling up your god pool to the point of messing the build up (getting a 5-god pool, by having Artificer to force you to take 2 unwanted gods by the second time you use it) are about 10,2%. I'd take my chances using it. Besides, he took the random boon from Narcissus, which would VERY likely give him a god that he doesn't want, given that the pool wasn't filled up. Using artificer to fill it up early could have increased his chances of getting a useful god in that situation by a lot.
Honestly, "not very good" is just wrong. Does it work for damage. Not well. Were you completely unkillable while attempting to take almost as many hits as possible? Absolutely. There has to be some utility in that, even if it isn't fast.
Agreed. Not a great speedrun build but it's nigh impossible to lose, especially if you lean more into the moon heal and have DDs. Seems like the bosses generally will kill themselves before the kill you. You can also just spam infinite magick while face tanking. All the powerful omegas that are magic inefficient and cause you to get hit while using are great in this build.
we need a tally of how many times he forgets to use artificer across all his runs, its gotta be getting up there
ngl I do it too, I'm just so conditioned to clicking right away
I knew somebody would make something completely cracked with Fixed Gain eventually because of how well the damage reduction stacks with Strength.
The real broken one is flood control cuz it applies after the percentage based reduction
According to YT Gaming Recap, you're my Top Creator of the year and I couldn't agree more. Thanks for all the videos you do!!

@@dr_strangetea7908 Ah yes my favorite build on staff. Pair it up with circe aspect n apollo legendary for the occasional big boinks too.

If over-restoring magick would work, you'd stand still with demeter's magick restoration boon and kill everything by doing nothing
God I fucking wish. I think Incandescent Aura with Hestia Magic gain and the torches or the witch’s staff and the hammer to hit twice but use magic could work great
All hit run > No hit run
Nice job killing Scylla before the chorus, humbling to watch 😅
right on time for lunch
35:08, isn't there a hammer that makes your attack require magic or something? That might have been good as well.
That is one powerful Trifecta!
Liking golden oreos is valid, but they have to be fresh. Wonder how he feels about oreos in ice cream and junk

Did you try torch+bloodline+born gain+this duo? You spent magik fast and with borngain Duo can do a lot.
