- Step by step tutorial on my proffered meathod of mounting a body to the Mazz Designs Cheat Code chassis. Can also be used for any other mag mounts.

I usually put masking tape between the two magnets when glueing to make sure I don’t glue them together. Otherwise, I do a similar process. One thing I do is set it all without glue, add the outer body magnets like you did, but tape them to the body. Then I pull off the body, put glue in the body mags and they pop right into place where you have the outer mags taped. You could potentially cure the body mags without the body on the chassis that way.

Those are good ideas as well. I turn the body upside down to make sure mags don’t glue together and have yet to have it happen yet. 🤞
@@mazzdesigns6929 I guess you’re gonna have to do a black ‘vinyl’ style hood to cover those spots on the blue one, but that will look great. I had one barely move on me and you could see a tiny bit of the shiny magnet through the lexan. Had to dot touch up on the exterior. Luckily it’s not really noticeable.
You are right about taking your time when gluing. Definitely need to test fit and have a good plan/tools/cleanup just like you say. And patience to wait the 48hrs!

Great video man!! I have done it very similar except I get the body lined up without glue then I throw a couple magnets on top of the tape and trace a line around them. Once I got the line traced on the tape on top I make sure the are still aligned then tape them in place. Boom now with the body off I can just drop the glue and let the magnets fall into place. Works out great and I can do all my gluing with the body off.

I never thought about turning the body upside down to flow the excess glue around the magnets. I put a piece of tape between the top & bottom magnets so the magnets don’t get glued together.

Yo mazz, just thinking as a precaution, you could lay a layer of foil or plastic wrap on top of the car before you place the second mangers on top. So the shoe goo will not be able to make contact with anything other than the body the magnets and the plastic wrap or foil. Just a thought

Looks like I need to buy some shoe goo. This seems way more secure than my servo tape jobs that need to be redone every couple months. lol
I have always used e6000 but I think I like the shoe goo as it’s not as harsh

What if the body has a curve on it? Wont the magnet follow the curve and not sit on the bottom magnet properly? Is it ok to have a gap between the magnets when dried? Or should have magnets attached together and let the glue fill the gaps with the curves? I have a 1/20 toyota pickup body i'm trying to mount on the stock chassis. The hood has a curve to it.
You just want the mags a bit off the body. Add your glue, place body and turn upside down. This will allow the glue to form to the curve. If you have voids once cured just add a little more glue and leave to cure again. Thanks for watching!

Have you considered trying to find a way to transfer the glue into a syringe or similar? Would be much easier to meter the glue output.
