- A man was arrested and two police officers injured after a massive brawl erupted during protests in Whitechapel on Thursday night, July 18. The Met Police suspect the chaos is linked to deadly incidents in Bangladesh.
The UK’s House of Lords is set to debate Pakistan’s “Democracy in crisis” on Tuesday, focusing on the ongoing detention of Imran Khan. Despite being granted bail or acquitted in numerous cases, Khan remains behind bars. He claims the charges are politically motivated to keep his party, which won the most seats in this year’s general election, from power.
The debate is being hosted by Labour MP Naz Shah and former Conservative MP Daniel Hannan, now Lord Hannan of Kingsclere.

The big concern is that there are already 4 or 5 independent MPs in our own Parliament elected on a Gaza ticket. My view is that any MPs elected to the British Parliament should be on the grounds of British issues. If these people are unhappy with what is going on in Gaza or Pakistan then they should clear off over there and vent their feelings and let the rest of us carry on with our everyday working lives.
