It might be there, that is not what I'm disputing.
You seem to think it's ours. No. What happens is BP or shell etc come in taking it out of the ground and put it on international markets.
      That's it.
Unless you are proposing a massive state company that only supplies the uk market needs, it's the same as getting it from abroad.

@@James-tv4pl don’t listen to that Dale Vince claptrap, he owns a green energy company, he’s only trying to line his own pockets with subsidies that WE pay for. There’s room for everything, but don’t import gas, coal or oil, that only makes pollution worse. You are still using resources from the earth, just paying more for them and shipping it across oceans on ships doing eight metres per gallon of diesel.
Besides that you are ruining peoples livelihoods and the economy. Wind, solar, tidal haven’t a hope in hell of providing the energy needs of the country. We need all sources including a lot of nuclear, but home grown. Relying on other countries is expensive, far more polluting and dangerous to our country. Look at Germany, it took all its gas from Russia, that ended well, they have been in recession for two years. It now cost them a fortune and they are reopening coal fields. I could go on about the stupidity and pointlessness of net zero but I fear I’m wasting my time. People will only learn when it’s too late.

One of the largest councils in England is already discussing limiting personal car use to permitted activities only once we switch to renewables. A whole lot of people in charge are aware that renewables will leave us with a serious shortfall in energy production.
      Hence the anti-car agenda.
They are telling us that these measures are to reduce congestion. The more important reason, I believe, is that they need most of us to stop driving and instead use public transport, cycle or walk. 15 minute cities anyone? Underhand and I see very little evidence that the people promoting these policies have made any major changes to their own lifestyles.

How many solar panels and wind turbines will it take to power the power hungry data centres and AI hubs they want to build? How many of both of these will we need to meet the demand of the, trying to force the nation to use EVs? Given they don’t want to tackle illegal or legal migration which means a rapidly expanding population of people who are consumers, how many of the two will we need to meet the demands of this population growth? Increased population also means increased emissions so the net zero goal posts will move as the population rises.

Heat pumps are no good in older houses and does not provide hot water!! What about more tidal, hydro and nuclear? Wind and solar are un-reliable. Winters less sun and wind and that is when you need it, Complete madness!! Also if we have so much wind Why are our energy prices so high. Gas and electricity should be cheap and affordable to all.
