Thanks for the video. There aren't many out there specifically on the Thor LTV. When I got my (first) 4k pro, it had the newest firmware already installed. Then the problems came. I ended up getting a replacement unit - which I did have to download the new firmware for. So far it's been good. I say all that to ask: Did you have to download any firmware updates for it? And if so, which update did you download? I haven't seen anything listed on ATN's site for the Thor LTV - only the Thor LT.
I got the Thor 160 3-9 LTV yesterday. My only real complaint is the lack of a daylight mode (or non-thermal). I didn't really think about that until after I had the scope home and mounted. I think I'd have to build a rifle specifically for night shooting and that is all. I have an ANT x-Sight ii 5-20 and I have to admit, I think I appreciate it more than the LTV 3-9 just based on the ability to shoot with it during the day time. I'll give the Thor LTV a little more time to decide whether to keep it or return it.
Yes, it's for hunting at night. If you hunt mostly during the day then the Day and night vision scope suits your needs better. I hunt at night because I hog hunt and they are more active during the night. I deer hunt with my X-sight 3-14 during the day or when I want to night hunt with night vision. If you plan to eventually hunt at night I say keep it. If not then sale it because why keep something you will not use.
@@MorrisWildHogRemoval Im a couple hours from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area store. I was going to work on zeroing it today and then decide to keep or return.
Hey I just got this scope and I’ve been trying to use it but when I use it outside I can’t see any of the surrounding environment like you can with your trailer or house or the trees etc. I wanted to know if you have your scope on certain settings or how you got yours to work so well.
Did you adjust the front focus ring and the rear adjustment ring (DIOPTER ADJUSTMENT) By rotating the Diopter Adjustment Ring you will achieve optimal sharpness for your vision. Look through the eyepiece, focusing on the reticle and widgets on the screen. Rotate the diopter adjustment until the reticle and widgets are perfectly sharp in appearance.
@@MorrisWildHogRemoval yeah I have auto nuc on and I’ve been making sure the image is clear along with playing around with the sensitivity and contrast settings. Has rain or fog ever hindered your ability to use the scope?
@mattjohnson1463 Yes, you can use it during the day light. A lot will factor in like the humidity and temperature that will affect the image. You will have to make some adjustments like the sensitivity and contrast.
I have the 3x9 160 did you have trouble sighting it in at 100 yards. I have it right at 50 yards it’s good but at a 100 yards it’s 2 inches higher probably. I’m shoot a bushmaster 223
Yes, I like it. I recommend you go with a 320 resolution instead of 160. You will get a better picture. I have two 640x480 units as well. But if you zoom in you will lose resolution. It will get pixelated
I don't think most folks understand just how expensive thermals can be. The Thor LT and LTV are really about as budget-friendly as it gets. Even Sightmark and others are about the same, or more. Pulsar (the best - in my opinion) is at least 5-6 times as expensive for what a lot of professionals would say is mid - upper mid level. Some other manufacturers are upwards of $10k and climbing! I suspect (and hope) that as the technology continues to advance, the prices will come down. Look at where NV is these days. Even 10 years ago, a lot of what's available now would have been straight up unobtainable for the average person like myself.
Hey do these new model work good im thinking on buying 1 but dont want to regret the purchase i have read alot of bad reviews with atn products but i still like them just want sumt very reliable for longterm
I like the new models. I used all models from ATN and I haven't had any problems. The majority of the complaints I hear are about customer service but they usually go through a third party instead of the company.
Wow, for 160 resolution and 3x zoom it looks pretty good.

Yeah I’ve done both of those things
It also depends on the weather outside as well. Did you Nuc it?

Ok just wanting to sight it in. Thanks for answering me
Telescope yang sangat bagus. Tapi sangat mahal harga nya di negara kami sir
Does it auto focus or is there an adjustable objective?
You manually adjust the front and rear focus ring. You can have it auto or manually nuc to clear the picture.
@MorrisWildHogRemoval oh ok...that's pretty cool to have the option to auto or do it yourself. I needs one.

@benjaminjackson2026 no I didn't but it all depends on your ammo you are using. For hunting purpose?
So all and all you like it? I'm gonna buy one today. I don't have a ton of money for thermal, but this is my first one.

So what’s the price for that thermal?
And you should do videos on budget thermals to show people different options!
Those are budget thermals. They start at $949.00
