I have a testimony to exactly what you are saying. When I was 40 yrs old.(20 years ago) I got hooked on crack cocaine. I had always been strong in my faith since a little girl. God has pretty much always answered my prayers.
But at 40 yrs old, I got hooked bad. And became a person I did not recognize. Guilty of things I never dreamt I do! By the end of the year I lived on the street. Crashed at ppls houses I didn’t even know.
One day I’d made enough to get a room. FIRST TIME I chose a room over rock. I was exhausted. I went right to bed. I had a short dream upon waking.
I saw myself a year ago.
The faith lady. The Bible thumping come to Yahshua lady.
I opened my eyes and I could FEEL how I used to be. And I said “there I am!” And the it suddenly disappeared and I felt numb and cold again.
I rolled off my bed immediately to my knees and begged with everything I had “please don’t let this be how I turn out. Please don’t let this be the end of me. Please don’t cast me off from thee! I begged and pleaded.
The phone rang. No one knew where I was. I answered just to make it stop.
I heard a familiar voice. An old friend of my Phillip Rhyne, say: “it’s time you get out of Myrtle Beach DeAnna”.
Phil! How did you fine me? I’m gonna die here Phil! I don’t wanna die here.
    I was crying so hard!
He said he’d talked to my sister in NY and my mom in NC and they’d not heard from me in months. Knowing this was not like me, and knowing Myrtle Beach he started going down the phone book calling Hotels and Motels for 3 days!
I was at the Red Roof Inn.
God found me! And He yanked me right out of there! A ticket was waiting for me at the bus station.
It was finally over. I’d dream about it for a year. At first I hardly talked to God. I was so ashamed. All I could “spiritually” was cry.
One day just kinda in a a daze like, I said “Oh Yah I miss you. I miss our talks and all of your revelations.
And right then, like a movie in my mind I saw my self a little girl and all of the prayers he’d answered throughout my whole life, put to that hotel room. As if to say, I’ve never left you.
Years after that, I’m talking to Yah and I asked Him “Why did I have to go through that Yah? Why would I choose such a thing? And I heard (in my mind) “So you’d forgive your mom.” And it was TRUE!
I grew up with an alcoholic mom and I judged her harshly in my heart.
I didn’t feel like I loved her. I didn’t even like her. I was a “dutiful daughter” at best.
But after crack cocaine, my WHOLE attitude toward her changed.
I became waaay more patient with her, and started praying for her.
I still didn’t like it when she got drunk, but was far more patient with her.
My atheist mom came to know Yahshua. She lived with my husband and I the last 5 yrs of her life. She quit drinking and read her Bible and we bonded. We cried together and laughed together. She sat up at 4 am and looked over at me in the chair. She said “I love you DeAnna”. Those were her last words. She passed while we held hands.
Every word of this is true.

Compelling reading, I guess I was just picking up on the same similarities on my current read through.
Tonight I also had this verse come to mind, and moments later, this was at the top of my recommendations to give me more context and remind me how to response to any thorn that doesn’t show much sign of stopping. His grace is sufficient for me. God’s power perfect in my weakness. He helps us to endure through it. ❤

I personally don't think Paul's weakness was a sinful thing. I think it was something more like depression for example. That he couldn't get healed from. It's an involuntary feeling. But an immoral desire is a voluntary feeling at a certain moment and then it becomes a regret later on. Do you get what I'm trying to say? Cuz when it comes to sin, we have the power to overcome it, but trouble is something we just have to go through. Yes we fail lots of times to overcome sinful temptation but also God knows that we were able, yet too weak. But I'm not saying that weakness is an excuse. Sorry for dragging my reply. Hope all is clear.

When I was around 7 I was playing near a palm tree with thorns. I fell and it poked the inside part of the elbow. It hurt so much day after day. I will admit I was a bit conceited, cocky, prideful you name it. I thought I was the fastest kid in school, most athletic, smartest, handsomest. But at the same time my arm would hurt and I couldn't do what every other kid could. It humbled me a lot. I fell into deep depression and hated God asking what did I do to deserve this? Why me? After 14 painful long years I saw a hole open up in my arm and I pulled out a 2 inch thorn. I couldn't believe my eyes. My arm no longer hurt I felt a huge burden lifted off of me. I gave my life to Christ a little later. Looking back I can say if I didn't have that thorn I would've been dead or in prison cause of my lifestyle at the time. Even though that thorn made me weak somehow I made it out even stronger than I was before only because of Christ has lifted me up.

I have heard people say "That is a thorn in my flesh" or "he/she is a thorn in my flesh" ... but I have never had the revelations that Paul had.
But it was years ago I had to turn to God for help. I prayed 24/7 for a while. I still at times have to battle, just as we all do of course! ... but the battle was terrifying. Tonight my stomach has been in knots.

It could be his insecurities whether that’s because he’s a short man? Or he’s a timid person in real life but bold with written words…?
But whatever his weakness may be, he’s considering it as a form of hardship that keeps him in humility.
Apostle Paul has lots of credentials especially as a former Pharisee, a Roman Citizen, and a descendant of Abraham.
It could be that the thorn on his side is that he murdered Christian and is subjected to suffering for the Kingdom.

Excellent teaching! I’ve been teaching that for more than 50 years. He states early in Chapter 11 that he suffered “in deaths oft.”Other scriptures that relate are Romans 8:36 “We are killed all the day long, we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.” and 1 Corinthians 15:30-32 where Paul says I die daily. I would caution you about modern translations. The original doesn’t say that Paul could become conceited it says, “Lest I shout be exalted above measure”. Conceit comes from one’s own heart but exaltation comes from others and he did not want that to go above measure. Otherwise great teaching. 👍

Thanks for sharing the truth. I actually looked at the Greek verb that gets translated to “become conceited” and it’s the same word seen in 2 Thessalonians 2:4 which is something done by the individual. It’s to raise oneself up intentionally and arrogantly. I believe that’s most consistent and accurate to the context. But your understanding might also be true so it could be both 👍🏼

Our weakness cause us to rely on God. When we rely on God constantly we are stronger every day, week, month, year etc. Weakness throughout the entire Bible is relying on God. From Old Testament to New Testament weakness relying on God is your Strength. Those unbelievers can’t understand how weak and reliant on God we (human Christian’s) are gives us so much strength. Everything throughout the Bible points to our weakness and Gods strength. Amen ! Churches that turn from God disappear and cease to exist. Countries that turn from God cease to exist. I relish my weaknesses because they are a witness to the multitudes of people around me and caring for me.

Two other circumstances of thorns that I was reminded of were when God banished Adamand Eve from the Garden and told Adam he would have to work the fields to produce food and that it would no longer yeild to him and would produce thorns. The second is the crown of thorns pressed into the scalp of Jesus to add to his suffering and to represent Him as King despite His enemies seeking to humiliate and hurt Him.

I understand Thorn is anyone's any irresistable sufferings. Everyone wants to avoid that suffering, But the only effective way for anyone avoiding suffering is to love one another. Paul grumbled saying God didn't help him remove the thorn. Yet I feel God already helped him. The problem is that we didn't work good enough. We still has a lot of work to do.

  • @seanvann1747

    Excellent understanding 👏
We are "allowed" to go through it and God does not take these persecutions away because this is actually what we are called to as followers of Christ.
    1 Peter 2:20-21
[20]For what glory is it, if, when ye be BUFFETED for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
[21]For even HEREUNTO WERE YE CALLED: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
We just like Paul are promised "buffeting" from our enemies.
    2 Corinthians 12:7
[7]... there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to BUFFET me...
to rap with the fist: - buffet.
Which is exactly the persecutions you listed from chapter 11.
    God bless your ministry 🙌

Paul experienced those things and they kept him humble but why? It's because he was such an aggressive persecutor of the early followers of Christ. Paul lived with a guilty conscience that's his thorn. He also had to deal with the opposition from nonbelievers and those inside the church who turned away from the healthful teachings. Paul's THORN was not physical but more so emotional and mental keeping him humble. The whole chapter 7 in the book of Romans gives us a glimpse in Paul's mind regarding the man he is. Not everyone is humble enough to say that they are flawed Most people, especially those who want to take the lead as spiritual leaders have a tendency to hide who they are. Paul never had a chance to hide who he was. Even after his conversation his reputation preceded him which I'm sure brought about a lot of stress for him emotionally. In Romans chapter 7 Paul talks about how the law brought to mind our sins.... well Paul was one of the main opponents to THE WAY and he approved of the MURDER of many followers of Christ. Imagine living with that on your conscience.

Nice breakdown although my believe is that the thorn was spiritual arrogance, meaning, by nature, we all have a tendency to border on lofty egocentrism, no matter what the situation. Paul, I believe, was at the pinnacle of humility/humbleness, which makes him a major target for that, since it is real easy to take credit for things.

    • @runk585

Whoops…forgot to add that Paul had access to many spiritual things that others did not. We cannot rule out that thought is not flesh, because it is. It is really easy to think you’re a star, since we are all human. All of the frailties of the characters God chose as Apostles/Disciples are demonstrated in scriptures for the very purpose of glorifying God.

A snar and a trap,a wip at your sides, and thorns in your eyes. It sounds like to me how jesus had a trap set for hem in the garden. Was wiped in the sides and worse, and the long thorns on the crown of thorns hung like barbs over he's eyes. Jesus took our sins onto hem. WOW!😮 just WOW! Glory to God on that one. I don't recall ever seeing that discription like that before.

Thats where i had ended up too, using the same Old Testament verses to gain understanding but these other verses helped lead to a more specific answer as to who these thorns were (or helped me at least lol):
It was the messenger from Satan that God chose to use to deliver the thorn with Paul. By looking at these examples we can see that the messengers came from the nations already existing in the land...carrying that over we can see that in Paul's case that would be 1. The non believing Jews, which he himself refers to:
Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all. (So here you can even see that it was God's will, like you said, to chose who He would use!!)
    Romans 11:28‭, ‬32 NKJV
For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus. For you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, just as they did from the JUDEANS, WHO KILLED BOTH THE Lord Jesus AND THEIR OWN PROPHETS, AND HAVE PERSECUTED US; AND THEY DO NOT PLEASE God AND ARE CONTRARY TO ALL MEN, FORBIDDING US TO SPEAK TO THE GENTILES that they may be saved, so as always to fill up the measure of their sins; but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost. (So here Paul specifically names the group that is preventing the churches in Judea from preaching to the Gentiles...the Judeans. He also adds that they are responsible for his persecutions!!)
    I Thessalonians 2:14‭-‬16 NKJV
And after Paul states that the Judeans have persecuted him and prevented his preaching, he goes on to share the power behind them:
But we, brethren, having been taken away from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavored more eagerly to see your face with great desire. THEREFORE WE WANTED TO COME TO YOU -EVEN I, Paul, TIME AND AGAIN -BUT SATAN HINDERED US.
    I Thessalonians 2:17‭-‬18 NKJV
And to make this both clear and true, the Holy Spirit cites Jesus Himself as the 2nd witness through the Apostle John:
“I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those WHO SAY THEY ARE JEWS AND ARE NOT, but are A SYNAGOGUE OF SATAN. Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the DEVIL IS ABOUT TO THROW SOME OF YOU INTO PRISON, that you may be tested, AND YOU WILL HAVE TRIBULATION TEN DAYS. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
    Revelation 2:9‭-‬10 NKJV
From these verses as well as Paul's words themselves we can see that it is the Jews (and through them the Romans also) that were the messengers Satan used to deliver the thorns...the Jews with the persecutions and the 40 stripes minus 1, and the Romans with the rods (which is where afterward I believe Paul specifically prayed for release from the thorn because it was 3 beatings and 3 prayers, buts that's just my personal opinion):
    From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one. THREE TIMES I WAS BEATEN WITH RODS; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep;
    II Corinthians 11:24‭-‬25 NKJV

Paul's story is one of the greatest stories of God's redemption in the Bible. Paul was directly involved in killing Jesus' most closest and beloved disciples and yet he is forviven and given one of the most important tasks as apostle to the gentiles. I always wondered why everyone hates him so much until I figured this out. People don't want redemption for their enemies. Just like Jonah hated God's reaction to the repentance of Ninevah so much he told God he wanted to die. I am in love with Paul's story now because it tells us how great is GOD'S mercy.

I have strut with that thorn. It’s a perception that tells me lies . I keep praying for God to remove it. But I still hang with Christians that use words that are in alignment with the enemy. I have not driven out the enemies. My friends are not the enemy but there attitude. I feel sorry for them. They confess “There are no good men”,
I see there idol is to have a man in there life. I know my perception used to be that I would only FEEL complete if I we’re married.
Do not here me say that marriage is an idol. All of us have a need to be loved and a sense of belonging. But I believe only God can meet that need for Love, and approval. The World has sown seed of lies that cause our hearts to yearn for a variety of things different from what God tells us are true.
We have to drive out the lies and breakdown the falsehoods that ensnare us.
An Idol is anything or anyone that takes place in our heart over God
For me comfort is still a struggle. But that idol or religion and legalisms has finally been removed. The compulsory need to complete “ all of the should of to feel worthy “
But all those ideas that made me feel validated by doing instead of being are still a thorn in my vision.
Please pray God help me listen to God instead of the false guilt and condemnation.

Paul's thorn in his FLESH is the gospel of GRACE that was revealed to him by the risen Christ. The THORN is a reminder from Christ's death, a sharp thorn that " buffets" him from the flesh ( which could be anything related to life in the flesh and possibly involves falling back into his former jewish religion, which is " flesh" rather than spirit.)

I honestly think that missionary Paul had trouble with his eyes 😅. Look at the evidence... his letters were written mostly by others, he signed them though, also look at Galatians 4:14-15 they empathised so hard with Paul and his issue that they wanted to pluck "their own eyes out and give them to him".
I wouldnt go as far as to say that the thorn is "some other people".
He just made no excuses and continued to serve regardless of the thorn.
I like the rest of the analysis though and it was helpful to me.
    Glory to God.

Though he’s speaking metaphorically, some people see that as an indication that he has a literal, physical problem with his eyes. This same hyperbolic statement is used by Jesus about how we should remove our eyes if our eye causes us to stumble. It’s a literal problem but a hyperbolic statement about dealing with it

@@AboveReproachMinistry He may indeed have had a problem with his eyes, however he had that problem early in his ministry, probably since his conversion. And it may have cleared up since. What Paul refers to in 2Cor. 12 is what happened 14 years prior when he was stoned and left for dead. That is probably when he had his vision for which God needed to humble him. He did so by allowing constant persecution and hardships as the video says. Amen? God bless.

I doubt the thorn represents the danger, sufferings or toils he faced at the hands of Jews or Romans. Those make his apostolic resume greater. I lean more to the psyche. He will always have the record of having persecuted the church and though he is forgiven those sins he cannot escape the reality that he did them and the memory of it and the accusations made by his opponents that he has a stained past serve as the messenger of Satan. And that knowledge of having been a persecutor keep him humble.

  • @Mike65809
    @Mike65809 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

Yes, the context explains what it was. It was the persecutions and hardships he constantly had. God allowed the angel of satan to persecute him. It certainly was not a sickness and we certainly cannot apply it to ourselves in being sick, that God won't heal us. Besides, most of us have not been caught up to the 3rd heaven and received secret revelations. It was for Paul only.

      @AboveReproachMinistry  ปีที่แล้ว

Theres a difference between repeating motifs and patterns in scripture that carry a certain consistent meaning vs. concocting a narrative based on unrelated texts that happen to use a same word or phrase. I’m trying to be as honest and consistent in my interpretations of the scriptures as possible.

Paul is expressing something we all miss here unless we too carry such a thorn...Jesus expressed the same thing differently when he said, Take a tip from the lilies in the valley, neither do they toil nor stress, but surely I say unto you that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed as wonderfully as one of these. It's all to do with electromagnetic frequencies. By lowering our thought patterns to meekness we interact with God's righteous energy on a frequency that the thorn often accesses...and which can bring us into dna repair mode.

You are doing a great service although the attention deficiency of our modern society would prevent many to listen fully to your explanations. Try to reduce the video time by not repeating yourself so much. Afterall, one of the the best attributes of our modern TH-cam, is that someone can rewind several times if need be to fully understand your argument. Although re-watching the video, I can't see how you can cut it short except by mere few minutes like 2 mins. In any case, a few minutes can make all the difference. Aim for a total of 20mins and possibly 15mins in your videos if you can, otherwise continue your great work and in future more people will come to view your channel and appreciate it tremendously. 🙏

*What The Father has spoken will never change, His promises are still good and our prayers are still answered! Hallelujah!!! But as impossible as this sounds, like so many of the true stories in scripture, our bibles have all been supernaturally changed by Satan in the last several years, right in our homes, in the fulfillment of prophecy. It's being done to prepare for the reign of the antichrist. All languages and all translations have been changed along with concordances, encyclopedias, dictionaries, history books, the original Hebrew, Greek, Latin and Aramaic manuscripts. Even the Dead Sea Scrolls have been changed!*
*I'm 70, was saved when I was 10, and have read only the exact same copy of the King James bible my church gave me in 1961. (This does not mean I was a King James onlyist but now I'm glad I never read other ones or I might not have noticed the changes as soon.) I had memorized many scriptures from it through the years. Then in 2014 I started seeing changes in it that I couldn't explain. I had never owned a computer or heard of the Mandela Effect back then. But after being given my first computer in 2016 I finally found out why I had been noticing all of the oddities that I couldn't explain. I then started diligently studying what should actually be called the "Daniel 7:25 effect". That's where God said He would give the antichrist the power to do this. (Change times and laws, history and scripture) We're seeing many end times prophecies being fulfilled SUPERNATURALLY! This is some of the "lying signs and wonders" God told us He would give the AC power to perform which would even deceive His very elect, if it were possible in 2nd Thessalonians chapter two!*
*God said in the end of days, (NOW!) that He would send us a famine for hearing His words in Amos **8:11** and that He would give the antichrist the ability to do this in Daniel 7:25. In Daniel 12:4 & 12:9 He told him to seal his book until the end days. He told John **_not_** to seal his book because the end time is at hand in Revelation 22:10. One of the Greek definitions of seal in Strongs concordance is “to protect from Satan”. He also told us to “write His words in our hearts”, which meant memorize, if not word for word at least the essence of what was written, because He knew this was going to happen.*
*God commanded us to "prove all things", and people **_better_** obey Him, especially on this subject. I urge you to research this. There are many brothers and sisters making videos about the changes with more proof of what was originally written and I have lots more about this in my playlist 👉 which can be found by typing in (proof of bible change residue junkie)* 👈
*I've continued stay in God's word by reading what has been documented to be what used to be written and what Satan has been changing. Soon Amos **8:12** will be fulfilled too and we won't be able to find God's word anymore, and the only way it can happen is by not being able to see these videos that document what used to be written in our bibles.*
*_May God bless all who read this with eyes to see this incredible faith strengthener, and how close we are to our Saviour's return!!!!_*
*P.S. Everyone is going to learn about this one way or the other. I'm just trying to save people from hearing Jesus explain it to them at the Gate. If you ask for them at the address on my about page I will send you links for 15 films that absolutely prove the snake bite is the mark. And yt hates me and won't post my replies so write me at my private address for lots more info yt would never allow you to see.* ❤✝️💪

romans chapter 7 i slipped in the thorn in the flesh part because later in corinthians weakness is equated with wrong doing i struggled with temptations for pornography for years before i found deliverance and it always seemed like a messenger of satan buffeting me and for years before the solution wasgiven to me by revelation the answer to my prayers was, my grace is sufficient to thee, the solution for besetting sin is a broken and contrite heart hungering and thirsting for righteousness and confessing your sins from the heart that is broken and hungering for God in earnest expectation that he will perfect the good work he started in you but dont give up i spent over 2 years on my face on the ground every morning crying out to God and one day the messenger of satan was gone now i only have the flesh to deal with so i guard my eyes and stay as humble as i can so i dont fall into the same bondage i was delivered from@@jbfiveash636

Paul's thorn in the flesh was not percecution, the thorn in the flesh was the messenger of Satan, a supernatural beings that lives inside of Satan.
Revelation 16:12-14 shows this supernatural being coming out of the mouth of Satan, this is a real being.
The results of the thorn in the flesh was all the trials, and percecution in Paul's life, but the thorn in the flesh itself was a super natural being, not the things that happened to Paul.
