Lovely video. How long are you in Bail for ? We are over in 2 weeks. What do you both do for work ? Keep on posting as I'm very interested to see how you go long term. 😊
Thank you so much! We’re in Bali indefinitely for the foreseeable as we’re loving it. It’s very diff from our old lives and that’s exactly what we wanted! Challenging, healing, complex, highs, lows & everything inveteeen but overall the best thing we ever did. So we earn completely online with 2 online businesses / the blog & hopefully soon🤞🏼 TH-cam 😅👌🏻. I’ll do some vids soon on how we got started with earning online as much was in our late 30’s 40’s so a complete change in career / direction. That freed us up to be anywhere in the world & still earn. It’s interesting & I think it will help others wanting to add extra income or fully take over the 9-5 earnings. Look out for my buah naga head when you’re next in Bali!! Have a super day lovely Xx
Me too Sue! Love a good house tour!! We move house tomorrow to somewhere with a pool (which is dead exciting as we’ve defo missed having a pool with the kids). And btw Thank you so much for your very kind & sweet comment ❤ it keeps me going 💪🏽
Has so much character & yes price is good. It was huge too. We never used an agent actually and go straight to landlord. The way thats done is Facebook groups for the area, where people post their lets. This is the best way to find these properties. I have some good groups for Ubud / Uluwatu if you’re interested in those drop me a msg on the blog & I’ll email you those over if you’d like them. ❤️✨
@@LoganAddisMusic ahh the shorter term rentals you might just have to stick with the booking.com / air b / agoda type places but fir 1mth and longer THE BEST PLACE is Facebook groups. Join as many of those groups as you can and you see all the posts from landlords posting their houses. You can sometimes get lucky on the shorter term let’s on there so it’s worth joining some to see what’s about. But definitely on the 1mth rentals you’re going to find some excellent options. If you PM me your desired location I can send you our fave Facebook groups for some areas that we’ve stayed in. Or just search up bali rentals long term cheap and groups will come up that you should join to get the latest properties. Then everything is done through WhatsApp where you dm the landlord to ask about map location / price etc. GL! Let me know on the area xx
keep on going. I subscribed and looking forward for more informative videos. Is there anyway to get in contact with you guys. Planning to relocate and would be needing some assistance related to the rentals.
Awww thanks your comment has literally made my day. You could drop me a msg on the blog www.benothinglike.com . I’m no expert and learning everyday but here for your Q’s. I’m not home yet so won’t pick it up till later but sure, if there’s anything I can help with I will. Not financial advice 😂 fletch
Thank you 🙏 Would you not. It had western modifications but was a wooden house. Made & built in Bali. Either way it’s been v beautiful to live in a wooden house - it had real character. Made me realise I want more natural materials when we build our next home.
what's considered the most expensive part of Bali? my family for 4 can't decide between Mexico or Bali and I fell upon ur video here.... what's it like so far for the kids?
@@templeofg there’s a lot of expensive areas in Bali, to live. For a holiday it’s much the same. But overall anywhere that’s got a developed tourist area is expensive. We chose Uluwatu for its beaches. We adore a beautiful beach and Uluwatu has lots of those. The beaches are not amazing in many parts of Bali. Compared to Mexico. For accom, You can pay as little or as much as you like - daily rates and monthly all vary. The best & cheapest areas are to the north of the island. A lot less developed. Bali is so do-able with kids and for memories & an experience it’s a MUST - but it’s not easy. Mainly because you cannot get around on foot in many areas (we love to get out & walk) but in many places that’s just not possible. You need a bike. In my honest opinion for an easy life I’d say Mexico with kids (we’ve done both). But for unique vibe & culture and complete island life feel. It’s Bali for the win. How old are your kids? Cos that changes everything also and how long are you thinking of taking?
@@benothinglike 3 and 1 and 3 months… we’ve been doing Mexico and I’m kinda sick of Mexico… but it’s a big expense moving everyone somewhere else… it’s pricey in pv… anything worth it is 1400 plus if you want quality… and the price of eating out and living is getting more and more …” Canadianized” not quite American prices but still about the same as Canada…. I keep trying to find a good reason or watch a good Bali video to help me convince the family to make the leap
@@templeofg ahh I totally get you with Mexico! And with the costs. It’s insane now for a family of 4 because you have 4 of EVERYTHING to pay for. I see solo travellers living it up, meanwhile we’re budgeting and I’m crying. But, big but, Bali can be so cheap and do-able for a family to live. And it’s very touristy BUT it’s also got its authenticity and traditions. The locals keep it that way. I’ll be doing more videos on everything. I’m just getting into my groove. Ask me anything & I’ll cover it & help where I can. Xx
@@benothinglike what’s missing in pv And area is the lack of kinda a groovy techno hippie scene.:. It’s not really here… I tried to find it… there’s nothing really of any scenes to get lost in… the tacos really aren’t that great either .. it’s no Tex mex
My kids live in Bali. If you stay away from the tourist areas you can rent at a fair price. The tourist areas are expensive particularly Canggu and Ubud as there has been a big influx of Russians escaping the war with plenty of money and they are in these areas. There are also those with little money, often working illegally.
👍🏼 did you watch my Modern Villa video? It’s quite different to this traditional Bali Villa video. Hey congrats on 5 years you’re living the dream. Why don’t you do TH-cam videos about it? I’d imagine it’s been quite the journey✨

Great video! Where do you search for these rentals? Agoda, AirBnb, or something else? 🙏
@@LoganAddisMusic thank you 🙏 are you looking for monthly stays + longer or just a weekly / daily stay. There are a few different places you see.

Hard as I try I can't find a sensible reason to visit Bali. it's more expensive than most of the UK , and I dont have a language problem.
Ok you do what’s best for you 👍🏼
Thanks for the video. I wouldn’t call that a traditional Balinese house it’s pretty western by design. Enjoy it
