@1:50 Tipping is customary in most parts of Asia but using porter service in airports, train stations is not. You expect to pay for the services although the rates are not stated. If in doubts do negotiate for the fees prior.
Tipping for porter service is only customary in hotels.
The text shows 20 VND per item, I guess you meant 20k VND

👋🏻 hey, yeh you got me I totally meant 20k VND p item. I’ve been living in indo for 5 months I’m so used to taking off the zeros now 😂💸 tipping isn’t actually huge in Vietnam compared to other SEAsian countries. It’s appreciated though. ESP in non touristy areas. And I’ll expect as tourism explodes in Vietnam in the next 10 years that’ll change. Ditto in agreement: agree price BEFORE you use anything : anyone. The overwhelm of the station with kids, no coffee, heavy baggage, noise, heat & utter carnage chaos saw us giving our bags away to any old stranger. You Could’ve robbed us blind at that moment & we wouldn’t have even noticed what had happened 😂🤣 it was STRESSFUL 😂 All learning & stepping out of our comfort zone on the daily - that’s what we love! Thanks for your comment too btw I love it

You sleep on the train, yeah right lol.
Did it in 12, been flying for the past 10 years 1/2 the price 10 times as quick. If you want a view of the country side get a hire Limo 4 in still cheaper than the train.
    Take care.

Thats a bargain! You should definitely fly 😂 it was a lot of fun with kids but looking at those prices it’s a no brainer really. Have the best time!

Everywhere in the world you have to tip the porters . They make their living by helping the travelers with their luggage .

👌🏻I understand that. I think you mis-understood my point maybe. We had a clump of cash in hand to tip him but it wasn’t ENOUGH. Thats the point. I’m pointing this out as Education for future travellers to have enough small notes. 😮 20k p piece - which isn’t a lot of money 💰 “just so’s you know’s before you go’s” 🙃 so you can have ENOUGH cash ready in the chaos that was the train platform, holding kids hands, finding your carriage, amongst many travellers. You really don’t want to piss a Vietnamese dude off as I found out. We would have preferred to have carried the bags ourselves but he insisted, we were weak & caffeine ☕️ deficient 😂 at the time so that’s how it went down. Life’s about learning ❤
