Nice work buddy. With the tig, that ceramic is way too small for stainless. A number 12 or 14 would be better, if you can find those glass ones. Also unless you’re purging or keeping the heat right down (moving fast as fuck), it’ll draw oxygen into the weld from the back causing it to become contaminated and grey looking. Welding stainless properly is expensive due to the Argon consumption, loads of coverage, lots of post flow and back purge. Also keep the heat down by either moving fast on a rotary table or by doing 1” runs and allowing to cool with loads of post flow. I’m sure it’ll do the job regardless. As you say you can’t be a master of everything. Looking forward to hearing this on the dyno 😎
Yea 100% i used to be able to make the welds look half decent with my glass cups but ive lost them in the move 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ And your right it would eat my gas back purging the pipe but would most likely make a better job of it 😎
