You nail why small cars are so fun - they always feel fast. I had a Swift Sport before an Audi with 200hp, but the Swift would absolutely walk it on a B-road because it's so much more alive and light on its feet. My next daily is going to be an Abarth 595 and I can't wait to be in something light and pokey again. I've seen your 5 on Facebook groups before, it looks absolutely incredible. Kudos and respect for such a great build.
Totally agree pal, if my “newer” fd2 wasn’t my dream car I’d have a Mk1 Golf like my old man had when I was a kid! You don’t need massive power to have fun in a car 👏🏽
Wow, didn't know your channel existed until this popped up! I bought a metallic blue Renault 5GT Turbo new back in 1986 and I loved it, but it wasn't without it's problems. After 6 months the clutch cable snapped and stranded me on a country lane and four months later the EMC failed. It also had the notorious fuel evaporation problem meaning you struggled to restart the engine when it was hot, also despite being faster than my mates getting to the pub I'd have to sit and idle the engine for a couple of minutes to lubricate the turbos. As for torque steer... but I still loved it and my next car was the face-lifted version!
If i had the dosh I'd definitely be buying a Turbo! My uncle had one when I was a kid and they were so loud, quick and enjoyable to be in, even as a passenger 😎🚗💨

@@knightofcydonia07 thank you very much, I’ve heard good things about the abarths but never actually driven one
It certainly is a good daily driver... Problem is you always have to take the longest route 😂😂😂

@@Fd2r_scott exactly mate it’s not a straight line car
always idle it from cold if you want the exhaust to fill up with condensation 🙂

Mint car mate. Just be careful on that stretch near BP, they're always in that lay by with the money printing gun.
