The drums have some nice punch and snap to them. I could compare some of the melodies and rhythms to Yamaha's products. I like the noticeable reverb added to some of the rhythms, It adds some shape and depth to the Backing tracks. The variations sound good too. You wouldn't think it was from Casio's library of cheesy rhythms. There's alot of improvement over the years. Nice video!
I have a Casio WK-7500 that I’ve had for years. These drums sound much better! This board has a sampling feature as well which means I can find even more drum sounds. I honestly could care less about the vocal synthesizer.
My old Korg X50 lcd screen faded away to "unreadable" - painful - but just got one of these ct s-1000v . A total blast hearing some of its depth here. Many thanks!
Hi Glynn nice video again. I see there are a few new rhythms on the CT-S1000V. As for the old rhythms, I have the feeling that they sound slightly better than on my CT-X800 - maybe they’re using some of the exclusive tones and effects of the new keyboard. One question I have is, why do people almost never demonstrate these rhythms in context with a melody? A second question: so far, which keyboard do you like best? The CT-S1000V or the Yamaha PSR E425? Do you still have the latter and if the answer is positive, are you intending to do a video comparison between them (like you did between the CT-X3000 and the PSR E463)? Wishing you a nice Sunday and greetings to Mocky 😺
Man you were really getting the camera angling on that keyboard! Was like I was watching a "Better Music" Advert for a Keyboard 😆 Bloody amazing sound coming out of it I must say though!
hello, i have a problem with saving direct to registration bank on usb flash card... only the chosen registration bank text is saving but not the content of the chosen registration I did mount the usb first and than format in the casio... and used severall usb sticks what could be the problem? and how can i reset the casio in the factory setting?
Ok, now that is something I can say about Casio, they have always had some serious nice beats in their more modern keyboards of the mid to recent 2000s. I noticed World beats in Casio home keyboards back when the CTK810EX era keyboards came out and thought, hmm! Yamaha does not have these beats! Then things got real between the 2 manufacturers lol! Now I have to say that listening to these beats, you can get ALOT of musical inspiration for sure! I bought a $5 broken CTK6200 and $30 CTK4200 in good condition and both units work great! I listened to ALL the sounds and the beats on both units! WOW! Casio has come a LONG WAY! Both have the sampling feature.. I am scratching my head as to how to use it.. The CT-S series should it appear cheap in some thrift store or fleamarket, I will be very quick to buy them!!
Haha you’ve certainly been paying attention! Yes the operating system in all the CT-S models is vastly better than anything ct-x. Not as extensively capable, but at least it can work without the user having a meltdown :)
@@gearfacts The question I have, is do I get this, or the CT-S500 over the CTS-400? The addition of the Bluetooth adapter make it almost a no brainer when you add the 64 note polyphony and added features to the mix. Still have a friend who has the CT-X700 and loves it. I'm wondering when the 700, 3000, 5000, and the WK-6600 & WK-7600 that are long in the tooth will be replaced. Especially since the 6600 & 7600 lack AiX. Too many options for too little difference in price, makes this decision a pain for me. That other issue is, they are all much more than I will be able to really use for a while.
@@Digidude1 if you want sampling then go for the cts500. The backings maybe different from the CTX ones in some cases, but I'm not sure. The 500 offers control nobs and an arp
@@gearfacts I think it's possible to create sample loop and might be possible to record that but you have to calculate correct tempo x looping settings for that to work correctly and fit the loop under ten seconds. I haven't tried that yet but I think it could work.
Hmm.. a bit too busy and ‘in your face’ for my liking, maybe there’s a way to pull them back a bit and alter the levels or even mute some parts? Hard to imagine what I’d play along with them, was hoping to hear a few more mellow backings. Drums do sound punchy though, a bit too loud in the styles though and could benefit from taming back a bit. I am also not sure what to make of the electric distorted guitars - the solos sound ok but again they sound too bright and present, not really balanced in the backing. Still for the price point there’s a lot of fun there. Better than what I remember of Casio backings, but I still prefer Yamaha’s styles. It also sounds very dance and electro focused, what are the ballads and other genres like (are there any)? Another viewer commented that maybe they aren’t making full use of the new sounds, probably more GM based. Right where are the paracetamols… 😷🎹🎛
It does cover al genres, those are just the ones I chose - but I couldn't find any way to mute individual tracks apart from taking away the entire accompaniment so you just hear the drums.
Nice vid. Just one thing - the Cumbia genre (13:48) should be with tempo 90 or a bit slower and then it will really sound like a Cumbia song. With BPM 110 is too fast for Cumbia
very expensive keyboard for what it offers, without tone editing (except effects) without the possibility of saving the tones, without rhythm editing, only a variation and a fill in, only 6 tracks in song recording....€495 here in spain ..... for €165 more you have a korg kross 2
It's the voice function that's unique to this keyboard, which if you're interested in that feature, this is the ONLY keyboard on the market for that. All in all, a great keyboard for the money.
or possibly a ctx keyboard with 16 track recording, effects editing and dsp and more features, plus a numberpad which cashotones lack. I had a casiotone once and lack of number pad meant i had to press the button so many amount of times

the cts1000v and cts 500 to have sampling
I own a PX-5S case. Is it true that the new sounds of strings, pads, brass are better on the CTS 1000 ?
They are slightly better in *some* of the sounds. Most are identical. The Px5s has many features that make up for this small margin though.
I was wondering what your opinion of the OS compared to other Casio models, like the CT-X3000? Does this one make you smile?
