My tip: buy a two bolt alloy seatpost of appropriate setback and use this for all your tests. Two bolt with a rocking cradle makes it much easier to adjust angle and tilt. Also, it won't break if over torqued and you always have the other saddle already set up on the other post, so that you don't have to reinstall it to the post.
Thanks a lot for this series. I've found the series very informative. Most other TH-cam channels on cycling seem to have morphed into comercial infotainment which renders them kinda fun but....practically useless to me! Your channel is the opposite with a focus on the practical. Thanks again.
A lot to unpack. So I’ve made it through all the videos in one sitting and as many have mentioned I’m sure excellent work. To explain my appreciation I’d say that this is the first video of this length that i have watch that wasn’t a podcast, that huge in my opinion. I am in the early stages of my back to riding fad so there’s tons of testing to do, my current bike is exactly for that purpose as i build fitness and knowledge for my Spring build/gift to myself. I do have a question just for clarification. I did notice that tingling feeling in my left hand specifically that i found strange, i self diagnosed to a posture issue although i did feel comfortable on the bike. It was also observed (I always knew) that there was a slight bend in my spine during an X-ray for my lungs which i also assumed could be the problem, i don’t recall this issue last year when i was riding but to be honest i don’e recall. So the question: with fixing my position do you assume that this will improve the tingly feeling in the hands? I kind of wish is was a topic you had touched on a tab bit
Cycling biomechanics is a huge topic in itself. Tingling in hand could be too much weight on arms/hands,slight carpal tunnel or shoulder compression. Can be lack of blood supply or nerve. Because we are imperfect a lot of issues we just get relatively right and live with it.
The two almost identical saddles felt very different... intriguing... I wonder if there's a way to measure the amount of give in padding and rails. I'll look online for a measuring tool!
Measured my sit bone and i am 100mm, so ive chosen saddles 130mm width. I’m getting sit bone pain with a narrow mid section flat saddle and I’m getting pain near my hip sockets with a slightly wider mid section and rounded saddle. I’m going to try a new saddle that isn’t so rounded with a cut out so i can raise the nose a little to take the pressure off the sit bones.
GREAT series of videos. Very helpful and far more helpful than many of the slicker, more “professional” vids put out by many of the larger TH-cam videos. But MATE - with such a gorgeous bike, you have GOT to get some better looking helmets!! They’re hideous! 😂😂

@@JoeKeaveney No Joe that's the one he tried at the 18:25 mark in the video. I bought the same one just last week, the 210g version for $20. @@stevenleffanue Thanks for the video's lots of great info. I think I was able to find most of the saddles by searching for "Road saddle" on aliexpress.
Hi! Thank you, these video series saddle are amazing! Im currently riding a fizik antares (141mm wide) and i’ve already done 15000+km on it, but im not satisfied cause i have a lot of pain in the perineum area, it hurts a lot after long rides or when i ride 6time a week, the pain is not in the middle of the perineum (in the soft tissue) but on the left/right sides (i think they re called pubic bone). If i press these 2 points (left/right) with my hand i can feel bones, but they re not the standard sit bones, cause sit bones are a little bit far back. Now i want to try a new saddle, i measured my sitbones with your technique and im between 10-11 cm, maybe my fizik is too wide for my body anatomy? Do you have any suggestion? If can help you, i tend to ride in a very aggressive position and i have a medium/high body flexibility. 177cm, 70kg
Great Videos fella, thanks for taking the hard work out and demystifying things; it's always hard telling facts from sales bull. For blokes a lot bigger than you skinny blokes ...lol...padding, gel seats? I shall re-watch these to see if I've missed anything. Have you done a video on helmets and shoes? I watch these in the morning after I've been for the "burn", from the hill i live on to Clitheroe the other side of Pendle over the top. It's hard work at 15 stone. I am getting a Garmin in a week or two, that should help me do better rides.
Gel seats are comfortable but the gel has a short lifespan...like a bed matress,it gradually sags to the sides. Measure your sit bones add the measure to your style of riding then add another 1/2cm each side if you are a heavier rider. That will give you the seat width to look for.
hi, watched all three videos, i have noticed that when riding i get numbness in my left hand, would the suggest that i need to move my seat forward or back, thanks
I have not ever felt a good saddle. Every one i have ever used felt the same. I take that back. I rode a beach cruiser that had a giant 4 lbs saddle and it was great lol.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. No nonsense unbiased information which was extremely helpful across all three videos.
Excellent advice .your trully an expert .
Thanks, I learnt a lot from this series and will stop putting up with an uncomfortable saddle.

Excellent ptesentation of saddle issues. Thx for sharing!
Having been through the sore ass vs numb nuts battle on my old MTB, I'm going to use this info with great hope.
You are great. I love your work and passion. thx a lot!
Excellent video series. This was a huge help for me. Thanks for doing all this work and posting on TH-cam. Really helped me find the right saddle.
Thank you. EXCELLENT SERIES OF VIDEOS👍👍👍
Best series about seats ever!

Thanks for your video. I want to know the information of xinda saddle. Woul you please let me know the model name?
I like how many shops let you test a saddle or do easy exchange.
I love my real Romin Evo, mine is bigger. Bike shop lent me several Specialized saddles. I wish I had seen this video a couple of years ago.
Well explained, this is what i tell my customers in my bike shop.

Maybe from Aliex...
About 2 hours is all i can ride. By then my backside is raw.
Go thru the steps in the vids and you will find at least one saddle to fit you. Start by measuring your sit bones width.

ends up costing more
