Hell, Aslan the lion in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe was way more expressive than all the characters in the Lion King remake, and that movie came out in 2005!!! Plus Disney made that movie, so there’s literally no excuse for the emotionless photo realism in the Lion King remake.

@@bobi200samatar6 yeah you're right, I just wanted an excuse to praise the masterpiece that is Cinderella 3, however wild its premise is in first glance.
One of my favorite memories as a kid was when my parents took me to see Lion King in IMAX. The rainbow tunnel that lead to the theaters blew all our minds and the massive screen playing the opening blew 6 year old me's mind! The only thing that could top it was when I fulfilled my childhood dream of seeing the Broadway version in NYC. It was the most beautiful show I have ever seen.
1:18 ok who is editing your video because you're talking about the 1994 film but clips from the lifeless remake are being shown. It's almost like the Jem and the Holograms movie when people were talking about the cartoon but its suppose to reference the live action film.
For context. I’d highly recommend the Lion Guard, it is more designed for young kids than the Lion King ever was but it’s still a great expansion to the franchise. Happy TLK 30! Tbh the “Mufasa” prequel looks more promising than the remake ever was. But still sucks that it isn’t hand drawn animated (at least in the style of the lion guard or the modern Disney cartoon cgi style of movies like Raya and the last dragon) and sucks that it challenges the long established accepted unofficial canon of the Lion King Six new adventures.
It’ll never be ruined as long as there are people who prefer the original movie and not the garbage remakes. Also, 1993 (the year I was born) called, it wants its 2D animated Disney movie!!!!
I was an infant during the original 1994 theatrical release so I never saw it when it first came out but I did see it on VHS and its 2002 IMAX re-release which was really cool! I'd say the original movie is still beloved all these years later even if the hyper-realistic CG remake and its upcoming prequel are not necessary at all.
Regardless, the 1994 Lion King is the highest grossing animated film of the twentieth century, and at the time I was eight years old. When I first saw the Lion King when it premiered, I was blown away, and I had seen all of the Disney renaissance films in the cinema, I saw this film with my mother, and my cousins, then a second time with my father and my best friend, at school, everyone had seen it too, and the Lion King was a big part of our interactions, then came the merchandising, and I still have some of this 90s merch. As for the Kimba plagiarism controversy, you are wrong Dazz, you are comparing an anime TV series, to a feature length animated film, if you have seen Kimba, you would know it's episodic, story arcs were not yet part of anime, so the themes and plots differ from episode to episode, so it's impossible for the Lion King to do something, not already covered by Kimba, for more information, I recommend watching Adum of YMS, he addresses the causes and the motivations behind the controversy, and debunks the arguments made by the "Kimba Crowd", similarities alone are not enough to prove plagiarism. In summary, Kimba acknowledges but does not honour Africa, the Lion King play homage and honours Africa, I would also like to recommend "Timon and Pumbaa" the Disney afternoon TV show, the Disney renaissance was also on the small screen too.
Happy 30th Anniversary to The Lion King 1994 animated movie! It still hold up to this day! Better than the 2019 Live Action CGI remake from 5 Years Ago released when this film turned 25!

Definitely ruined with the live action mess. Just give us a 2d animation film. Also they about to mess up Moana with a live action as well coming soon. Honestly Disney need to learn to stop being lazy and learn how to make plots.
I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that the team created an original story, but when the story was compared to Hamlet they decided to lean into it. I don't know if that's true or not, it's just what I heard.
No matter how many times they remake, redo, sequalize, or franchise the [REDACTED] out of it, the original Lion King remains, to this day, my favorite Disney movie and one of my favorite animated movies, nay, movies in general, ever made. It still stands proud and holds up phenomenally. Happy 30th birthday Lion King. Long Live The King... well... the other king.
When I was younger, I used to hate the lion king cause it seemed like it was the only Disney movie that was playing on tv. Now it’s truly one of my favorite movies 😂.
Lion King has always been my favorite. The live action one…exists. It’s like a straight copy paste of the original so it’s not bad but I wouldn’t pick it over the original any day. I think the new stuff could potentially sour Lion king as a whole for those who didn’t grow up with the original, but it can’t make the original any less fantastic. Also saw the broadway show too and it is indeed awesome. Loved the costumes.
Yes and no Yes because the live action ruined everything I loved about the original & completely misses the point and effort the originals had & No because we still have the original The Lion King it's still an amazing movie to rewatch thirty years on the only thing that bugs me is being reminded that the Live action film exists same with the lion guard more garbage Disney made what shouldn't be canon.

Did anyone find it odd that in the 2016 jungle book the animals have facial expressions but the lion king remake doesn’t
The only good thing about the Jungle Book 2016 was Neel Sethi as Mowgli
The animals do have more expressions in that one, for sure
