THANKS A LOT! I used to think I hated sw, but ur able to enhance my curiosity while being extra clear. Moreover, it's super kind of you to share freely such a content. Great job!
You are a gifted instructor! Your tone, meter, and knowledge flow out in a manner that makes your courses an absolute pleasure to attend. I thought it would be nice to learn Solidworks, but your videos have made the entire experience fun and entertaining! Thank you for sharing with the world!
LOL! Yep, that's my old Dreamcast, good eye! It's next to my Intellivision, and NES over my shoulder. If you hadn't guessed I am a retro-gaming junkie. Thank you for the kind words.
Hey, thanks for all the great videos. Your lessons are so well made and useful! Since I am interested in both plastic and metal, I wanted to ask if you would have a video of one of your classes that you mentioned about after you were talking about the pattern creation - I am interested in particular in the engineering aspect of that 60% rule for ribs and maybe other design tips when we are dealing with plastics. Cheers and keep up the good work!
Hello sir I'm following your videos. Thank you very much for putting them here. But I can't help from thinking, that you resemble Raoul Silva from Skyfall. hahaha
I have learned a great deal from your tutorials. Thank you so much for posting them. Do you happen to have anything that teaches how to create a bevel on a hole, or something similar? I haven't been using SW very long and am struggling to get a bevel on a hole in the side of a pipe. I tried chamfer but it doesn't quite do what I want. Thank you!
I'm probably very late, but to create the effect you want, you can extrude cut the bigger diameter (bevel), but instead of selecting through, you input the desired depth of the bevel. Inside that hole you extrude cut the actual hole that goes through the pipe wall.
thank you for the helpful tutorial. but when I select a part and want to add or select a particular colour or material, it simply adds to the whole of object? is it some kind of default sittings? I wanted to add thread to the screw and it threads the dome too :)
Hello. Is there a solid works certification that one can get after your lessons? What are the costs of the certificate in the case that one has gone through all your classes and done all relevant exercises from your course material? Can the certification be used for jobs or employment? All follow up questions are based on if there’s certification. Kindly do inform I’ll appreciate cause I have been doing your classes and I can’t imagine how much I have learned in a span of a month. I think it warrants some credentials seeing that you are doing a good job even if it comes at a cost.
at 12:10 there's a .25 dimension on the left-hand side. When I do it the dimension is fixed in the middle and veritcal between the two leader arrows. I've played with the settings forever. How do you get it to fall down and read horizontally?
When I worked as a Model Maker/Machinist in the shop we used a product called SolidView and were given access to the 3D files (rarely had drawings). We could easily measure any feature with a simple click, and could print out custom views with dimensions we added. This was back in the Mid-nineties (1994). I can only imagine how much easier it is now.
In video 6:30, I am not able to do the smart dimension that doubles the length (pre-emptive diameter) in my 2018 solidworks. Does this feature work only in 2020 version?
As explained in the first video of this series, Mr. Sikora has worked in SolidWorks for 23 years and the web site is his own. The materials are his, with contributions by some of his students.

So far I'm really enjoying these videos. So much better than most others I've found, thank you!
You're very welcome!
Thank you for your videos, your helping a mechanical engineering student from the UK
I love the Dreamcast in the entertainment cabinet!
Also, wonderful, informative information, thank you.

Great teacher.!!!!♥
Excellent tutorial! Thanks!
Why did you put in ".15" for the "Dome" parameter [30:35]? In the given pdf it is "R.750".
Thanks.

What do companies do instead of prints to communicate with machinists?

Sooraj, it's been in the software since the 1990's. One of the lines must be a centerline for it to work.
@@vertanux1 Thank you.
Excuse me sir where did you get your lectures/pdf for this topic?
His website has some PDFs that you can download. It has everything

Great video. It did take me a second to realize that “shamfer” was actually chamfer. I hope you don’t pronounce champ as shamp. 😁
Thanks for the kind words. You say Tomato, I say... ;)
thanks a lot mr vetanux
