Same! I was on the edge of going with a computer science degree or mechanical engineering and das cayman pushed me into mechanical as I also love cars and the design aspect gets my juices flowing
This tutorial playlist is great. I'm an engineering student and after tacking my CAD clases I wanted to get a little more practice under my belt and mabye even prepare a portfolio of complex designs. This playlist is going to help me achive this goal. I have used CAD softwares many times before as a hobyist, but never profesionally. This is very helpful for those who are looking for that profesional training.
wow! It IS very beginner friendly, down to the details of how to use your mouse, I am an flash-learner type because my jobs need various skills in general, not one-job professional but, sometime I need these kind of tutorials to reorganize everything. Thank you for your contribution to the community sir.
Great Tutorial! You May want to remind user what "WCS" is. I know 'cause I've used other CADs before but.. FYI June 2021 student edition: full preview for fillet is not on by default.
Hi Big Wave_Dave, Thanks for the kind words. When recording, I couldn't remember the real name of the Reference Triad which I mistakenly called the WCS. SolidWorks technically only has the "Origin", which I mention is associated with the Front/Top/Right Planes. Also, thanks for verifying that the Fillet preview is not on by default. I make videos for 15 different CAD systems and sometimes make mistakes.
RealView works by default on the RTX3070 and the RTX3080Ti. You need to use the Studio drivers, not the gaming drivers. Studio drivers have no effect on gaming performance if you are worried about gaming capability., its easy to switch back in any case.
Hi Charles, Thank you for the kind words. To rotate the drawings first download the PDF, then open the downloaded version, right click on the page, you should see rotate clockwise or counter clockwise. If I rotate the drawings in the manual they are very small and difficult to see if someone tries to print a hard copy.
This is fantastic! Could anyone point me how lab 3 is done (Rectangle with different sized through holes)? I'd like to measure only one circle per offset measurement and then mirror the other 3 and changing their diameters. I can't get this to work as the other circles placed are undefined.
Hi Krosola, Thank you for the kind words, here is a link to a video with virtually every lab. See the notes for the quick links to times. th-cam.com/video/8lHEizPf-wY/w-d-xo.html
@DasCayman sent me here and I am glad!
