One of my favorite ways to get lots of sims to be friends with each other is what my sister and I call "The Bunny Cult." Basically, we noticed how if a toddler was playing with the bunny toy, everyone would gravitate toward it and pretty soon we'd have a ton of people (we tend to have large families) all sitting down watching the toddler playing with the bunny. This turned into us actively using the bunny to increase relationships between people and help up party scores at toddler birthday parties (or any birthday party where a toddler was in the household). Helps them get to meet a lot of older siblings who don't live at home anymore all at once, too.

Maybe Sims that pay for the ‘fertility treatment’ you can have them try for baby without casual menu. That way it’s more realistic, like they may or may not still get pregnant with the ‘IVF.’ And then if they have more money they can either try the treatment again (in game try for baby) or think about surrogacy/adoption

I have the "Have Baby With X" mod for cribs. I use it for elder sims to have their own children and it spawns a baby from whatever 2 parents you pick directly in the crib. Since there is no pregnancy, I charge sims 10,000 dollars to use it.
YES YES YES do a fertility treatment rule! I'm from the Sims 4, where you just spam Try for baby until it works, but I am so looking forward to this!
I will! I've been wanting to do something like this for a while! I think it will be helpful for my older couples who still want another baby.
You have one of the best Let's Play Sims channels, they're so enjoyable and I think a lot of it is partly because you really let the Sims decide what to do so it feels so much more genuine then other people who plan out what they want and just kind of plow through ignoring their Sims, and partly because the Sims 2 is just so charming and complex and realistic. Keep making Sims 2 LPs please, for those of us who no longer have it 😭

this is the first sims lets play channel ive ever watched consecutively and its really fun i can see why people like it, its like a soap opera or tv show! plus its so fun to watch cause you play your game radically different than myself! In Sims 4, I use Wicked Whims and it has a great "Fertility Treatment" option for 250 Simoleons. I find it great for Sims who may really want a baby but are struggling. I love the idea of doing something like IVF in this let's play.
This reminds me of something that just happened in one of my TS4 households! They have three kids, all Teens now. The day their youngest aged up, the dad decided he wanted baby #4! Since their oldest will be a Young Adult in a few Sim weeks, guess he was feeling the impending empty nest syndrome 😆 So now they'll have three Teens and a baby. Yeesh! Anyway, still loving these videos so much! The amount of fun you're clearly having is infectious 😁

I have the same issue with the “Help With Birthday”! I found it was because they were grabbing the baby out of the crib so that was making it switch to just ‘hold youngster’ so I tried just having them place the baby on the floor after that and then someone in the household will get the “help with birthday” again for the baby and come pick up them up from the floor and age them right away :)

In my game I take $10,000 out of my sims funds and use the sim blender to force a baby when trying for a baby won't work anymore and they're too old.
I'm thinking of doing something similar - only maybe about half that price! Lol

I wrote this before but I have to again: your narrative is the best out there for gameplay! I am shamelessly binging your 3 hour Edgewood livestream uploads nowadays as well :D (I have never ever in my whole life watched a gameplay of even an hour before lol)
For anyone interested, if your Sims won't leave teddy bears and other stuffed animals alone, I recommend using Cyjon's No Auto Talk Through mod. Also, the issue where Sims stand there doing nothing after taking the birthday baby out of their crib can be fixed with simler90's Aging Baby to Toddler Fix. 😊
I could never, NEVER, play the sims the way you do, I am more of a messy/build player. But I love to see you play, the dedication, the time, everything. It really shows how much you love this game. I haven't play the sims 2 in a really long time, but this videos remind me how much I adore the game, (I play the sims 2 since I was like 2 years).

I also LOVE the fertility treatment idea :) Maybe you could roll for each time they "try" the treatment? 1 for Success, 2 for No. Might be £££ but would definitely be more realistic! Then when it's successful, use the Sim Blender and voila, miracle bebbeh :D

The sim blender ivf idea would be awesome but I think there should also be more rules for it, not just the fee and them having a certain amount of money to afford it but maybe only a certain age range?
Younger than a certain age adopts and then older than a certain age gets the added option to do ivf if they can afford it? Just an idea though 😅

the babies can be so finicky aging up!! i think you can use simblender or something to max out their needs so the parents can age them up
also, theres a mod out there somewhere of an outdoor tub specifically for pets! that way u dont have any sims stripping nekkid in their backyards :-)

What I do for families who are struggling to conceive because of old age, I will either allow them to try for baby from the regular menu rather than acr for their “fourth time” or just cheat it through sim blender if I’m feeling antsy as if they got a fertility treatment and I charge $500-1000 depending on the funds they have
