- We are back on potentially the rustiest Mitsubishi Evo In the UK! What has happened to this thing? We begin to start finishing removing the chassis rails as they were very rusty and we continue removing the underseal. But guess what, we found yet more rust!
We do however finally get to making some new panels by hand and cutting out all the rusty bits!

I applaud the owner for having this repaired and keeping another one of these beauties on the road.
It will be stunning once done
maybe it belongs to james may.
Don't forget to hit the like and Subscribe buttons! What was the best part of the video for you?
Just seeing the craftsmanship as the EVO being transformed 🎉
Watching you effectively cut around the ramp pad. Lol
The owner of this car must really love this thing ,the expense of having y’all do all the rust repairs and hand forming the dozens and dozens of repair panels is just mind blowing. I could see it if it was an exotic but not a evo.just my opinion.great work as always,y’all deserve a whole lotta kudos.just continue on doing what you do best.be safe 👍👍👍😎😎😎
Total respect repairing that - done lots of rust repairs, but would have told the customer to scrap that and buy a good one!.
Great video.
It's going to be saved now tho at least , shame if it didn't go bk on the road
I love the vastly superior editing in this car channel! Obviously you know what an audience needs to see to remain interested and excited and have the time spent fly by and really get lost in the moment!
Cheers! Keep it up!
My favourite youtube channel of all time. I just drool over the skill on display and the fantastic tools and equipment which must be worth £gazillions.
Actually, apart from the Laser- de- ruster- magic- thing they have and the lifts, it's pretty standard sheet metal working tools. And that makes it even more impressive. Shows that tools alone don't make craftsmen. Knowing how to use them does.
You have some patience , fair play.
Be good to know how many hours involved with this job, with permission of owner of course.
Music is so calming
What / who is it?
I'm thinking the owner was surprised at how much rust his car has and how much work it needs - great work as always👌
Another Evo lives on👏
I think the having the ability to template those panels from a partial piece of rusted panel is amazing, great work in the restoration
Always great to see how you all put the car back together without the rust...
Thanks
Hi Ryan
I really like the work you carry out on the car's you restore and also the back ground music you put with your restoration on all of your work so relaxing sounds keep the restoration coming I'm enjoying them all well done my friend thank you .
Thank yoi so much for te kind words :)
These boys make metal fab look effortless!
love watching You/Tubers rebuilding these crash damaged cars, but what I'm watching here is on a total different level.. you're like the Jedi of car builders, would love to have learnt this skill.
Thank you so much :) it's enjoyable to do too :)
Wow! It looked quite good from the outside. It just goes to show what lies beneath. Great work, Ryan 👍🏻
It does! Thanks David!
Great work Ryan. Really looking forward to seeing more of this one 👍
Thank you!! More coming soon
Your Fabrications skills are next level!! You'd be like a final boss in a welding video game 😅😂
The evo looked like a car in a good shape from outside but underneath OMG disaster never thought that but it's in good hands Respekt
Fantastic work with relaxing ambient music.
Sensational work!!
Thank you very much!
Brilliant as always and one of my favourite cars 👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧
Thanks 👍and yes it is stunning
Infinite respect on you guys !
Great content and amazing work it's starting to look a lot better than it did but u definitely have lots more to do
It is!! And yes! Lots sill to do haha
Great work
Thank you! Cheers!
It Takes a Certain kind of Person to do this Job. One that doesn't mind getting Dirty, has a High Level of Patience and Skill to turn a Diasater DEV0 into a Majestic EVO. Love You Guys😁
hi Ryan those skills you have are amazing just love watching this channel that car will be amazing when done.
I admire your work very, very much. People who work on cars and like to do thorough services know how much longer it takes to do a proper job. And bodywork is the most demanding, since that is what gives the beauty of a car.
The owner must really love that Evo! I wonder how many cars you guys restore where you feel they are beyond economical repair but the owners still push forward for you to carry out the work?
So much death wheel. Love it!!! Whoever owns this owes the evo world a debt of gratitude. Cuz I wouldn't have. Glad they are. All these classics need saved.
Love your work and especially your music and editing. Relaxing informative and the best of British 💪
Thank you so much 😀
Krásná profesionální práce,obrovský respekt k vaší práci a smyslu pro detail 👌🛠️🛠️🛠️
Amazing work Ryan. I could watch you doing these rust repairs all day long. Cracking bit of editing too, and like quite a lot of people in the comments, loving the background music as well.
Cant wait to see how this one turns out. Top job man!
That fill-in piece for the pitted boot floor 👌🏻 perfection
Thank you :) it turned out real nice!
Thats a lot of work, keep it up 👌

I could see it if it was an exotic but not a evo.just my opinion.great work as always,y’all deserve a whole lotta kudos.just continue on doing what you do best.be safe 👍👍👍😎😎😎y’all need to hire someone just to sharpen your drill bits LOL.👍👍👍😎😎😎
that's a lot of work !! have to admire your dedication .I would like to see the door panels and glass covered up they will be ruined with paint and hot metal sparks by now
Great job, it's amazing 😮😮😮
I was thinking perhaps a refurbished bodyshell then I thought that we would not then see all the fantastic fabrication.
Crazy work and skills, it will be amazing if we can get a review of what products you're using to treat and prevent rust !
I see a Golf mk1 in the background, any videos of that? 😁
Nope sorry. :)
Nice E30 M3 Sport Evolution in the background! A lot of blood has just gone down to my 3rd leg :D
Guys a tip: invest in a high capacity dry ice blaster with a good air compressor around 1000 liter p/m. Saves you loads of work on the sheet metal no need for wire wheels etc and you get everything off.
I'm very glad that I'm subscribed to your channel. Your videos are always interesting, informative and professionally made.⛺️🎮🌚

Merci de France
Nice work although thats slightly better than the one I did it looked good as someone must have spent many hours bodgeing as I took it for mot the 1st time something didn’t look right so I did some digging and we just stopped the test, when it went back the boss of the station asked if it was for sale lol
another masterpiece..
was this parked in the ocean? never seen an evo with that amount of rust. great job guys
Devolution sounds the right name for this project, it is trying to turn itself back into iron ore.
🤣
Triggers Broooom 😂😂
🤣
I blame that shoddy widebody job for a lot of this de-evolution.
I had to get a beadroller for JDM rear boot floors too, so many beads and flanges going on there, it did occur to me to use a vice and a hammer if it was just one small bit, but was spotting more rust than I would have liked, did not regret the purchase when it turned out I had to replace everything on each side of the spare wheel well a.k.a all of that floor!
That aside, great work! Your friend is gonna be a happy Evo owner! Maybe you can fix up the one James May crashed too 😆
Just wondering, why did you fabricate the section at 11:15 onwards? This piece comes with the new chassis legs, so could have saved you some time. Perhaps you didn't have these available? Not a criticism btw. I am always blown away by your skills and I'm very happy to see an Evo being rescued. Keep up the good work!
I needed to build that piece so I could get structure back in the car and move the ramp arm onto it so I can continue forward on the sill and floor pan. I've filmed the next episode already and it shows it there :)
What a shed. Looked great till you started digging. Though I love how you're getting closer to the part you have ramp pads onto. Lmao
We want a Subarusty!
Dude you are a magician!
I love the evo repairs! You guys are the masters 👏
At what stage would you guys send something to scrap? How much does a restoration like this cost? 😅
It must be a huge disappointment to start on the Evo, and find what you did , damm that's a mess , Excellent work as always Ryan, it's in good hands
I noticed the Mk2 Escort in the background at 4:10. 1600 Sport, any chance it's from ZA🇿🇦? My first car (way back in 1993) was a Metallic Grey '79 1600 sport. Two of my uncles, had Cortinas, the same pale green as that Escort. Seeing that car just now, brought back so many good memories of my teenage years.
10:45 What kind of spray is this?
Weld through primer.
great video love watching them one question though it must cost a fortune to do the work you do?
Question though: would a nylon bristle abrasive cup have been more effective in bringing it to bare metal?
The Yellow Peril
I’m waiting for you to restore your face. Haircut and shave 😂😂
But you are master craftsman
Do they use salt on the roads in England?
They absolutely do.
Yup we certainly do plus if you live on the coast that will ave the same effect
Looking at this Evo I'd say we're being conned into believing it's Road Salt they are using.
I reckon it's Caustic Acid !
Great work Ryan 👍👍. One quick question, do roads in the UK get straight salt thrown in the roads in winter? I live in NY state, and even with the brine and salted roads, newer cars dont get so rusty. Older cars like from the 80s yeah, but from the 2000s should be better protected
Thank you. And yes plenty of salt in winter on roads
OMG you used the name I chose!
Going back to original or is the kit going back on 🤔....either way it's the best colour 😎😁👍
Kit going back on
I still think this project should be called "The Crusty Lemon"!
The yellow submarine
🤣
Could have sourced a lot from wreckers yards in Australia with little rust , maybe freight would be expensive ?
Hurray lancer💪✊🏻👍🏻 Why did it rot so much, the sea or the reagents?
Why do you drill holes not punch the. Maté works in a welding place the punch holes just wondering is that cos the work with thicker steel
Unbelieveable...
You guys don't half get some Rusty stuff in there.... But it's all good love a Weldathon! 😜
Where’s the hole press gone
This looks like one of the worst constructions I have seen you guys tackle. So many bits and pieces making up these corner areas. Assume it could have been an import and never had factory rust prevention. Your patience and ability continues to amaze as these projects are rebuilt.
You would think it would be cheaper to scrap this car and buy another .
Mitsubishi Evil Lotion
Surprised you guys don’t use ice blasting
It still amazes me how little internal protection modern cars have. If you could import one, it would of been more economical than to go to this extent surely.
Mit-so-rusty Evo
🤣🤣
That's seriously in some rough shape.
At 14 mins another song comes on very mystic, you use it a lot, who’s that?
It's Nomyn , but I can't remember which one
Do you have any idea why it’s so bad?
There are lots of Evos around in exactly the same state - they were very poorly rustproofed from new and the steel used in their construction wasn't of particularly good quality either - they can and do literally rust anywhere and everywhere underneath - if the rear chassis legs and boot floor are showing signs of grot - you know it's just the tip of a potential iceberg - my mate does a lot of repair work on these - and they can be a right ballache.
Music name?
Oi-Ee-Boi... Roight now ?
What on earth has this car been through? 😋
A lot 🤣
How much man hours go in. Such a repair?
Looks like you should have back halved the car, and while you're at it front half the car too!😅
You have too much time for that kind of hidious projects 😂
Acid dip it.
Total rust bucket
how ever did that rot box get a mot
Dunno, but cool it's still around and after repair it will pass it no problem
If it wasn’t for content needs these days, this thing would be washing machines long ago
This is a customers car. Nothing to do with content needs
@ I’m sure the customer is paying every last piece of labour
Surly, it would be better to either make the rusted panels from scratch using the right tools or sauce replacement panels instead of patchwork quilting the whole car. Just dosn't seem right and on top of that, the price to the customer for the work you're doing mustn't be much more expensive that oem parts. Yes I understand that most of the cars you repair are getting a little low in numbers but it's got to be better than cutting a bit out of this and a bit out of that, just dosn't seem right.
Do you have any experience with repairing rust damage on old cars?
They already explained that they have more work to get the parts fit than just make them self's. Most parts you can't buy .And these you can don't fit and need rework.
When you restore something, you keep as much of the original as possible, otherwise it becomes a reproduction, and it can affect the value of certain items. This applies across the board to antiques, or even aircraft. You can get into deep water trying to get things re-certified of you replace too much original material. These guys use quality steel, and not cheap copy or knock off parts of dubious provenance.
Is that really worth fixing? Makita make great grinders
It is :) and yes indeed!!
You do know they make air chisels that will do that faster and easier on you...
My '92 Transit is less rusty than that! 😂
Always wonder why you guys don't just shot blast the bottom of the cars? Stripping all that under seal must be a nightmare. Failing that even strip the whole car, dip, repair and repaint? That must be costing the owner an absolute fortune
At what point do you say fuck it, its not worth the hassle?
Was that poor Evo driven in Wisconsin, thats what happened to my 71 VW.
It'd be better to get another junk but some what better condition one an fix that instead of this pile
Get some eye protection on lad.
@ what point do you say **** this for a game of soldiers and start looking for another body shell !? :/
