You have learnt me a new technique as I never thought of doing that with flies, I do it with worm or various baits and then bounce that through a pool.
I dig the animation. I do zero nymphing. My first week or two fly fishing I did some. Im a first year rookie. The act of nymph fishing made my back hurt to be honest. I was primarily a jerk bait madman, twitching rapalas and stuff for reaction bites, so I fell for the streamer game. I came naturally to my style. Maybe ill try nymphs again at some point. I know im leaving tons of fish behind. Dries are fun though. What i really need is training. Thanks for the video 🤘🏼
I was the same as you, chucking meat for Muskie was my drug. But I also did a lot of rigging for walleye/perch and crappie so nymphing wasn't too foreign. You know what's funny? I actually had a sore back the other day while nymphing! So I have been playing around with some positions to see what is more comfortable. Anyhoo, I will be putting together a video about drop shotting on the river(it works in lakes too!!). Good luck :)
Great video, Milan. I'm thinking that the splitshot tag at the bottom could be 2lb test. That would make it a breakaway snag tag, saving flies even more often. I have a 10'4" 6wt I use for nymphing for steelhead (euro or indicator,) and will definitely try this. For Browns out west too. -Al
You can for sure but going too thin diameter will get shredded by the rocks, logs gravel etc. honestly 9/10 times it breaks off no problem. Go getchya some👊
