Just a suggestion, I recommend you use the drill for one of the mindflayers, due to the fact that it will not only stop them from teleporting, but without tech, you can do more damage using the drill than normal railcannon. Might help.
If you think drill is bad, then use it in difficult rooms or against mindflayers and you will see how good it is in the situations it’s important in.
