What's it like as a passenger in the rear? I rode in the back of an X3 for a reasonable time, and it felt like there was no suspension at all, it was that hard and unforgiving?
I love my 2019 fully optioned executive package with the adaptive sport dampers; I added aftermarket 19" wheels with performance tires and had mine programmed by a someone that offered the service. ODB connector, cable, laptop and software to add options found on the higher end models. Then for another $500 he added the canned engine software that added a lot of HP and TQ without the expense of worse gas mileage. I also added a BMS intake and lots of cool interior options to personalize mine including a box that fills the area underneath the center armrest so that you can put more stuff there and it won't show or fall out....and even has a hole for the USB ports...and looks OEM! I love the LED adaptive headlights. The X1 is a better value than a VW Golf R and is a lot more practical and more upscale for about the same price. It's the first vehicle that I purchased that has never been back to the dealership for ANY warranty issues. On the highway I usually drive at about 120 Km/hr and get close to 36 MPG....Let's see an X3 do that...probably around 24MPG. I love my heads up display and the self parking feature actually works.... This is one amazing vehicle and In 3 years I'll get the new one...and mine will be easy to sell because of the transferable extended warranty and maintenance plan.....and the lower loyalty interest rate....you can't find a better small SUV on the market. Not KIA, Hyundai, Mazda, Ford, GM, VW and many others....and if you like visiting the garage then get a Jag or a Land Rover. I love driving mine in any kind of weather....because it's predictable, easy and fun to drive....and the next one will be even better.
It’s probably because of the large u tube following he has , but I think it’s disgusting the things he gets up to maybe his large following has had the same affect on his head & ego so believes that abusing cars in that way is cool & good for his image, shame really he used to be a very good motoring journalist a few years back .

Seems a really nice and practical car! I agree with Mat's observation and verdict. I wish though that the cockpit was more ergonomical and driver focused like usually BMW does. What is also a shame is that the advertisements of the car in countries like e.g. Greece are terrible.
The active cruise control adjustment B.S. may be a deal breaker for me. I alter the following distance quite a bit, so this "buried in the menus" stuff is just nuts.
Mat is seriously funny when he is annoyed lol. I personally prefer my own GLB 250 over this though it’s just better ergonomically than this and has a better rear end design wise. But this X1 is far superior to its last generation gotta give bmw props!

With all the design decisions that bmw makes this is fairly a good looking design by far
Yea the front reminds me of the previous gen X3 M (which is a good thing). The rear number is a bit messy though
Rear looks like it’s been in a crash, headlights are also out of shape
yes itbís
Finally a beautiful front side of any BMW
Yep. Reminded me to Z4 GT3.
It is an amazing car, I can't believe he just shortlisted it.
If this car isn't a buy, noone is.
What's it like as a passenger in the rear? I rode in the back of an X3 for a reasonable time, and it felt like there was no suspension at all, it was that hard and unforgiving?
Reach around, special flaps, wet inside, steamy windows experience! Sounds awesome 😁
So what engine does THIS X1 have? I watched the engines bit but I didn't find out which one HE has to review.
It’s the XDrive23i, which is the 4 wheel drive with a 2.0 litre turbo petrol with a 48V mild hybrid, with a total of something like 218 BHP
I'm 💯% sure that this car will win the best from "some" SUV category in the world, looks amazing 🤩
How do they let you do these things to the car (throw the boot cover, throw in luggage, let the rain in)? :)
It’s probably because of the large u tube following he has , but I think it’s disgusting the things he gets up to maybe his large following has had the same affect on his head & ego so believes that abusing cars in that way is cool & good for his image, shame really he used to be a very good motoring journalist a few years back .
One of the best rear end from recent BMW launches!!
I was waiting for this video. X1 looks much more premium now
The X1 is a pretty nice car but i really miss the I Drive System from BMW. So I think it must be very annoying to use the touchscreen for every litte sh*t like cruise control or seatheating
Did I miss it or Matt didn't say which engine was in the tested car? It would be handy to know for the 0-60. I probably missed it :)
I think going off the mpg and 0-60 it is the 2.0 diesel .
Seems a really nice and practical car! I agree with Mat's observation and verdict. I wish though that the cockpit was more ergonomical and driver focused like usually BMW does. What is also a shame is that the advertisements of the car in countries like e.g. Greece are terrible.
12:03 I thought Mat was a roadmap 😂 for a second.
The active cruise control adjustment B.S. may be a deal breaker for me. I alter the following distance quite a bit, so this "buried in the menus" stuff is just nuts.
Thanks for watching send a direct
message for more enlightenment👆❤️
Can't wait for the bmw IX1 review!
Mat is seriously funny when he is annoyed lol. I personally prefer my own GLB 250 over this though it’s just better ergonomically than this and has a better rear end design wise. But this X1 is far superior to its last generation gotta give bmw props!
Anything Mercedes is better
buy 1⁹55 gullwiñg ñerçadeß
The vlog gets a like because The X1 gave you a deserved slap in the face. Well done!
I test drove the X1 after watching your review. Planning on ordering one now. Ive owned many BMWs and this small one really pleasantly autprised me, considering the awful looking cars coming from Munich these days!
What's the chances you guys could get x30e to test drive?... I'm considering one and would like to hear your thoughts... And see it launched !! 😂
buybut
It’s just better.
What engine was the test car equipped with?
That’s a lot of hp for a family car lol
BMW is just doing horse power wars
it's for the dads with two lives (drag racing)
yes it is
I’ll keep saying it. Those rear diffusers aren’t fake, they really do assist with aerodynamics
Quite disrespectful treating a nice new car like that…
Wonder if they will offer the m35i motor in the x1 like they did in the x2
Why carwow isn't in Australia 😢
No adaptive suspension in this test car? The ride should be more comfortable if there is?
Looks great, just can't configure the blue colour online 😔
