      As long as you graduated High School, you should be ok. You may have to take a few classes provisionally before you're given full acceptance but you can still get in. The best school is going to depend on what majors you're wanting to earn, and your learning style. Shoot me an email and I'll see if I can help you find a solid path. (ryan@9monthgrad.com)

      Yep, they use a Pass/Fail grading system. Most people assume this will be a problem, but it rarely is. 7 out of 8 Ivy League schools have accepted WGU grads into their Master's programs. I'd reach out to the school you're wanting to attend to double check, but it's usually not an issue.

It's almost June 2024 and I just would need to be finished with the degree before December of 2025. This video is assisting with hopefulness. Thanks for sharing

    I was looking for more exam based when I went back to school. UMPI has a lot of milestones/assignments before you can access the final. Also, they have a lot of writing. I write a lot for my job and would prefer an exam over writing as a final. WGU has limited degrees. However, this psychology degree is interesting.

    I love your videos and am so glad I've stumbled onto them! I'm a mid-30's mom in Silicon Valley and have been unemployed for nearly a year out of Tech. I am (finally) finishing my AA Degree(s) in English and Liberal Arts next month. I have applications in to several CSU, but I am realizing the cost and time associated with these "traditional routes" are daunting - and I'm learning that most positions I'm going to apply for require Masters in Psychology. I have the hyperfocus ability to get through classes quickly - in my specific case of needing a Bachelor's AND Masters - would Capella be the way to go, or do you have alternative suggestions?

    So I think what this guy doesn’t consider is the peoples style of learning. I went to WGU and it’s definitely wasn’t for me because all test are proctors and they give you tons of info to study. Yes you can use other resources but you have to absorb info by just reading it. Some people are better at hands on or project based and absorb info that way which makes UMPI a better school. I kno his favorite is WGU but he is going to talk about hacking college then he should talk about other schools as much as he tried to get you into WGU

    • @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671
      @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      UMPI is a great school as well. WGU is one of my favorites, but it's not for everyone. Having said that, if you follow my Degree Hacking process you shouldn't have to be reading textbooks. You can learn however you want to learn. Step 1, figure out what you need to learn. Step 2, learn it... in whatever style you'd like. Step 3, test out of the class. UMPI does work for some people. It just takes longer to get through project based class. But if that's what you like, keep rolling and get that degree!

    Every masters I would build on a
    Psychology degree necessitates a gpa much higher than 3.0. Their 3.0 gpa limit is holding me back from choosing them.

      These Pass/Fail programs are a lot more common than they used to be. It's pretty rare to see it cause problems with admission down the road. You can get into Master's programs at most of the Ivy League Schools with a Pass/Fail undergrad.
      Unless you've had specific schools tell you they won't accept a degree from a Pass/Fail grading system, I'd verify with these schools before you make the assumption.

    • @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671

      You can likely still switch. And I don't agree with the person here saying UMPI is better than WGU. Having proctored exams is actually a good thing. That's why Ivy League Schools accept WGU grads. Because they know students didn't cheat their way through the degree. There are still plenty of hacks that make proctored exams easier.

    Hi, Ryan! I might be switching to WGU from UMPI. However, I was wondering if you had any knowledge on the psychology program being more exam-based rather than projects-based. I'm attending UMPI right now, and it involves writing a lot of papers throughout the term. Personally, I would prefer something that caters to a learning style that involves more learning/reading the material and then being tested on what you learned.
    Looking forward to your response! Take care!

    • @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671

      WGU takes the exam based approach. I like how they do things a lot more than UMPI. For Essay based classes you basically write a final essay instead of an exam... but if you get a passing grade, you're done. Most classes are multiple choice exams.
