I'm at UMPI Doing the BLS and the BLS and first minor is done. What's nice about all the free electives, is you can use that wiggle room to add additional minors. So it allows you to add more "concentrations" for your degree without committing to a whole Major. So my BLS with a minor in MGMT is turning into a BLS with minorS in MGMT, Project MGMT, Business Admin, and Social Studies . Only one goes on your diploma, but they all go on your transcripts.

I got a message from UMPI that they cant tell me what credits will transfer from my old school until I have enrolled... They also cannot tell me the core curriculum !
What they don't tell you is that the liberal arts degree says 62 electives. But not all are transferred in. I had 92 credit hours transferred into the program. But there is a catch. Their electives have to be 300-400 level programs. Therefore, you would have to complete additional classes through them. And there are too many English, and science courses you have to complete for their general education courses. Which, makes no logical sense. Since the degree is in Arts not Sciences. I believe it was another 8-9 classes I had to complete as electives through Umpi. Because they wouldn't accept any of my associates degree or Sophia classes as electives into the Bachelor's of liberal studies.
This is a problem we fix routinely :) All UMPI degrees can currently get down to the minimum of 10 classes through the school if ya know how to arrange things! 👏🏼
I heard they are planning to add a computer science major to UMPI but so far there hasnt been much information out there about it. Hope they release it next year. Otherwise I might get it a little after my bls degree
@@MGTOWUNIVERSE Actually sent them an email about it earlier this year and the reply I got was this : "To address your question about a Computer Science program in the YourPace modality, this is a degree that we continue to develop. At this point, I am not certain when we would go live with a CS degree in the YourPace modality."
The school sounds so fantastic but the enrollment process isn't the easiest. I got accepted and briefly spoke with someone back in early November but nothing else since. (They said they would call me back) Now after watching this video, I want to pursue the BLS in management. But they currently have me aligned with business administration even though I'm not actually attending the school. I've had so much time to reflect on this that I not only decided to switch from business administration, but I was forced to enroll in more classes at my current school because of the lack of communication. Perhaps, they should hire another enrollment/transcript evaluator given the high demand of your pace.
Many students get forced into a BLS because UMPI transfers most courses as electives rather than matching it to the UMPI equivalent course. UMPI accepts everything but only gives you elective credit.
Having seen hundreds of these evaluations in the last couple years, I have to disagree. I’ll agree that they often don’t give equivalencies to every single class they could for each student, but I haven’t seen an alarming rate of skimpy transfers. Usually it’s only 1 or 2 courses per evaluation that are worth appealing.
@CollegeHacked unfortunately I am unable to post my daughter's transfer evaluation here but I am willing to email it to confirm the veracity of my statement. She had approximately 100 credit hours of Sophia courses plus Google Project Management, Google Digital Marketing and a few other college courses she was able to take gratis. Most of my daughter's Sophia business courses transferred as electives rather than the UMPI equivalent. This evaluation occured May of this year. She was informed there was no appeals process by Jessica herself. This seemed odd since my daughter appealed transcript evaluations at Excelsior, Liberty and TESU and was prepared to do the same. As a result, my daughter had the choice to attend a different college, take substantially more courses to get the business major she wanted or graduate with a BLS in Management. UMPI has many flaws. Her accounting course was taught by a banker who only has a bachelor's degree. I don't know how UMPI avoids problems with their accreditor for that. My daughter completed a 3XX business course without getting one word of feedback on the milestones, rough draft or the final. I have reason to believe her final was given a grade without being read. It took eight emails to get student ID. Presumably, YourPace students don't ordinarily receive a physical ID card. On the positive side, their librarian is extraordinary. My daughter had an adjunct English professor who was outstanding. Since my daughter has already earned so many credits, the price to transfer to another university is high. She would not matriculate into UMPI again if she could do it all over.
Interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in business and communication is an excellent choice for individuals seeking entry-level jobs in the business field where a bachelor's degree is required. This program offers a versatile skill set, combining business knowledge and effective communication, making graduates well-prepared for diverse roles. In many industries, a bachelor's degree is seen as a prerequisite, and while hands-on experience matters, having the right educational background can help open doors and demonstrate a commitment to learning and professional development.
I am switching my major at UMPI YourPace from English to something else because one of my professors doesn't provide instructions to her milestone assignments. It's unorganized and all over the place.
I want to get my BA in psychology. Im already in the field, I need this to move to the next level in my career. I want to be sure I can transfer from umpi to get my masters or doctorate in the future. I don't see anyone talking about how transferable UMPI is.
You definitely can! A common progression we help people plan is a BA in Psych at UMPI into an LPC or LMFT masters program at Liberty. You could even continue on at Liberty for the doctorate. What matters is the undergrad schools accreditation, and UMPI is regionally accredited so it works for the vast majority of grad programs 👏🏼

@Salty4eva I was wondering if someone else was experiencing this. They “misplaced” my transcripts a few times. They constantly go MIA then show back up enthusiastically every few weeks, asking me to do something right away and then I receive no response.
This is a great point to bring up! UMPI is an amazing school, but they currently have one person doing their transfer credit evals and there have been some kinks to work out as far as the number of students applying and the support needed to give them all good customer service. This is a case where “the juice is worth the squeeze” in terms of product. But you are definitely right to say they have some work left to do on the customer service and enrollment side :) They agree and are working hard!

Regional accreditation applies to a school as a whole, and the school is regionally accredited. Hard to imagine a state school not being regionally accredited. The BABA degrees are not program accredited. We're releasing a Q&A video next week that will explain this in more detail, but overall it just means that some very very very picky grad schools might not let you in. Think Ivy league. Literally no other issues that I'm aware of. These degrees are perfectly good. Program accreditation is something that Business weirdly cares about--same with Nursing and maybe Social Work. Doesn't really come up with any other programs.

@@hayhays.channelYou want to get a credit evaluation from the school you want to attend. We then use that in the Zoom consultations we sell to show you what you have done from the degree you want, and then what’s left and where to take it. The credit eval by the school doesn’t cost, but sending in official transcripts usually costs $7-15, somewhere around there.
College Hacked, I enrolled for The BABA degree, but I just read that you wrote that the BABA Degrees are not program accredited. I was under the impression that all the BABA degrees were accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). I was planning on pursuing a master's degree in Florida after completing the BABA degree. Will that be a problem in your opinion?
The whole school is NECHE accredited, but the business program does not have specific ACBSP program accreditation :) You should check with your grad school admissions team to be sure, but it’s unlikely to be a problem.
Hello, I have 2 questions: 1. Does UMPI let you transfer in more credits later on after an eight week semester? 2. If so, will they charge a fee for any additional transfer evaluations? Thank you very much!

@@badnuggets72 Liberty University has an Interdisciplinary Studies masters degree, if you want to build your own major with a combination of classes that would make you stand out from the crowd! ;)
Check out the BSBA in Entrepreneurship at Thomas Edison State University (TESU). They allow up to 90 credits from ACE/NCCRS, along with a generous transfer policy for RA credits (up to 90). You need at least 30 RA credits in total, but they don't all have to be from TESU. The max credit total I have seen from them is 114 out of 120. Their residency requirement is 15 credits - they have a 4300$ flat rate tuition which you could use to do a single-term of 15 credits or you can pay a residency waiver fee (not sure of the cost, but around $3600 I think). If you are military or veteran, they also have a tuition discount.
TESU is excellent advice, Liberty University Online also has a great entrepreneurship program with veteran and first responder tuition discounts that can stack :)
They might through a Portfolio or Prior Learning Review. The experiental learning would need to align to classes in their catalog and there is usually a cost associated with PLR.
The great thing about competency based education (CBE) programs like UMPI is that your experience can be used in an even more streamlined way. If you start a class and already know the content from your years in that industry, you can jump to the end and complete the final for the course and move on. :) A Portfolio Process is usually slower than this option 😜

OK, I get that UMPI is a very Hackable School. But I was looking at their numbers and I see some major problems. First off they have the Worst ROI for any school I have ever seen before with an Average Median Earnings of a UMPI graduate is only $28K???? And only 44% of UMPI graduates make more money than a High School Graduate? I know you love UMPI, but these are terrible stats.... (All Stats from the US Department of Education's College Scorecard Website)
Yeah, stats like this aren’t reliable for many reasons especially when it comes to judging online programs. Consider that these stats are a little older and skew towards their residential program, which is intended for students in a very rural area where pay rates are low and unemployment might be a more significant factor. There are other reasons to ignore, but also consider common sense. Is there a magical reason graduates from this school wouldn’t be able to make money? No, it’s accredited. It’s got everything one needs for a bachelors degree. And we’ve had many clients use this degree to go on to masters programs or to get high level promotions. It all comes down to what your goal is and if a bachelors degree checks the box to achieve it.
Without knowing anything else about you or your job, are two main ways a degree can benefit you. Either it’s just a checkbox you can check that will advance your pay/title at your current or future company, or it will teach you new skills that qualify you for better pay/positions.
@@CollegeHacked I am a supervisor in Logistics. I can move up with this degree (I am assuming) and use what I learned in the next step which is logistics manager. I have the experience and don’t plan on going anywhere else. I plan on keeping this job for a long time. Do you think it will still be a good route to take?
If you’re so “competent” why even bother. This shit is crazy - why do you think they don’t do this for medicine, doctors, nursing, social work???? Because it’s impossible for someone to know everything they need to know and it takes time to learn what it actually takes. More than just a month or one “term”. I love to see people win, more than anyone else - but I have a bad feeling. These degrees aren’t recognized anywhere in Kentucky. Idk about other places, but please go to a community college if cost is your worry or a state school. Think about it - what if your doctor or therapist earned a “competency” based degree in 6 months. This is how people view these programs. He’s got a good scam going on, it’s interesting and enticing - I see why he chose to profit off this.
This IS a state school. You do the same type of readings and assignments as you would at the physical school. Do you think every bachelor's student diligently reads everything, shows up to every class, and always gets great grades? Nope, not even close. This is a quick program for the BASICS of higher learning. It just proves you can study, write papers, communicate, and know the fundamentals. Then you take this BASIC degree and get a higher degree if you want to do therapy or medical work. Also, you CAN be a social worker with this type of degree!
Finally, a hackable degree that qualifies me to be a redditor.

@@CollegeHacked where can we go to get this information? I have so many classes done from Sophia and I’m worried they won’t be accepted
@@hayhays.channelEither from us, a current student, or by applying and sending the transcript in to get a transfer credit evaluation :)
@@CollegeHacked do you charge to get a credit evaluation?
Hello, I have 2 questions:
1. Does UMPI let you transfer in more credits later on after an eight week semester?
2. If so, will they charge a fee for any additional transfer evaluations?
Thank you very much!
1. Yes
2. No :)
Can you actually land a job with an online degree like this? Will employers consider it?
Definitely!
Have you known anyone to enter a masters at a European school with a UMPI undergrad?
No, but it should be possible. Check with the European school you want or look people up on LinkedIn by education to check that out!
Why BLS has number 8, and not number 1? :)
Thanks for the content! I have an AA on behavioral sciences (several child development classes) from my local community college from 10 years ago. Would the credits (I think 76 were transferable) transfer to UMPI?. I am thinking on applying to BLS educational studies minor.
They should!
Thanks for your reply! Is there a website where I can see which of my credits are equivalent to UMPI classes?
Is there a Sophia equivalent for graduate degree credit?
Not at this time, grad degrees are a whole different ball game :)
Do you have any breadowns on hacking Master's degrees?
Not sure what a breadown is, but I’m on the edge of my seat! 🍞🔽
@@CollegeHacked 😂 "breakdown" I'm almost finished with my BA and want to move into a Master's program in ExSci. I can only find 3 colleges that offer ExSci 100% online.
@@badnuggets72 Liberty University has an Interdisciplinary Studies masters degree, if you want to build your own major with a combination of classes that would make you stand out from the crowd! ;)

Besides sophia, where else can I transfer credits from to umpi for criminal justice degree AA?
Study.com, Coursera certs, StraighterLine, ALEKS, CLEPs, DSSTs!
@@CollegeHackedHi. Did you know what coursera certificates works to transfer into BA in Psychology? Thank you for your support.
@@abdielprado892None for Psych, unfortunately. The accepted certs are typically focused on tech content.
@@CollegeHacked did you know others resources than Sophia to achieve credits to BS in Psychology at UMPI? Great content man.
Who does the best english and lit hackable degree?
Best as in most hackable? Probably UMPI
Any idea of hackable bachelor in Entrepernuship?
@@smvtttt thanks for the info provided.
TESU is excellent advice, Liberty University Online also has a great entrepreneurship program with veteran and first responder tuition discounts that can stack :)
@@CollegeHacked thanks for the information.
Does UMPI accept over 20 years of work experience as an international government worker?
They might through a Portfolio or Prior Learning Review. The experiental learning would need to align to classes in their catalog and there is usually a cost associated with PLR.
@@smvtttt Thanks so much!
The great thing about competency based education (CBE) programs like UMPI is that your experience can be used in an even more streamlined way. If you start a class and already know the content from your years in that industry, you can jump to the end and complete the final for the course and move on. :) A Portfolio Process is usually slower than this option 😜
Umpi has bachelor of supply chain. Is the best major the have at the moment
Why do you feel that way?
Are these college program a self-paced or what?
UMPI has specific YourPace majors that are self-paced, those are the ones we are talking about 👌🏼
Sadly, they only have one Master's major. 😐
So far, but we can only imagine more are coming :) Plus, 3 of their undergrad classes can be transferred into the MAOL.
@@CollegeHacked Thank you.I know I should have seen your videos sooner. I just started Capella March 4th Psychology. I’m thinking of dropping 😓. Argggg
@@CollegeHackedWhich undergrads transfer to the MAOL
Open for international students?
Indeed! 😎
Can my 60 credits from my Associate's degree in General Studies be accepted?"
If they come from a regionally accredited school, then they should 😄
@@CollegeHacked Yeah it is a community college in my hometown of Chicago.
How would the BAS degree w a minor in Management & Leadership (UMPI said they only offer this) benefit me and my career? Is it recommended?
Without knowing anything else about you or your job, are two main ways a degree can benefit you. Either it’s just a checkbox you can check that will advance your pay/title at your current or future company, or it will teach you new skills that qualify you for better pay/positions.
@@CollegeHacked I am a supervisor in Logistics. I can move up with this degree (I am assuming) and use what I learned in the next step which is logistics manager.
Actually, all of these degrees are recognized in Kentucky. Surprise! :)
