Suju doesn't have a particular style. I've been an ELF for over a decade and they can still surprise me. They have alot of midtempo numbers with brass and tight harmonies and their title tracks tend to have addictive hooks, but it's the members vocal blend itself that makes the Super Junior sound. Having Suju on shuffle can give you whiplash. 😂😂😂

Super Junior tried all the Genra,, they tried everything from rocks, latin, metal, hiphop, Rand B almost every genra, they are never afraid to re invent their selves,, there is still more to discover,, for us ELF this a new face of Super Junior,, cause we are often used to their fast phase songs,, but the ballads are what I love the most,, cause they are a power vocal group,, all can sing. thank you for the reaction,, and looking forward for more Super Junior reaction. Thanks for this! This is not about the dancing, but about the performance. The song is the same on the album, the album is their best one (imo). The album is called The Renaissance, so I would say it does fit into the SJ catalogue, they can be a bit over the top sometimes. But yeah, this is very different, I don't think that for any other group could be possible to pull this off.
The video was again directed by Shindong. Many people have an idea of what Suju should be, but they don't care about it, they just do what they want, and somehow it works, they make it work.
One of the composers of the songs did a reaction video and he said the Opera Carmen was the inspiration for the song, so it does feel very theatrical, but some of them do musicals as well so is well within their capabilities. You've seen some of their SS presentations, you know they do like the drama! the show!! They've even done a comedic opera with some of their songs (Spy, Rokkoko SS9), they've done "Do,re, mi" from the Sound of music (SS4) I will just say that Shindong was Maria and Siwon was the father... Gosh they even have a song called Opera! 🤣
Thank you so much for that clarification - about this particular performance, the song/album, and where it fits in their discography. We don't mind over the top at all, we were just a bit caught off guard - if that wasn't totally apparent by our shocked faces and (Sabrina's) stunned silence at the end 🤭
It makes total sense that "Carmen" was the inspiration for the song, though we did not know or realize it. Looking back, it makes complete sense. And these guys are definitely capable of pulling off theatrical! We'll definitely have to check out some of their comedic operas 😆
Seriously, Shindong is amazing. To direct an MV like "Burn the Floor" but also an MV like "Suit Up" - two vastly different MVs - is incredible. He is SUCH a storyteller. We, admittedly, aren't always 100% sure what the story is - we're still learning! - but it's incredible, either way. What a great way to showcase the multiple talents of SUPER JUNIOR.
OMG may i recommend a song? Eunhyuk's solo Be. He is the main dancer and rapper in Super Junior. The song talks about his dream and childhood and about how he is comforting his younger self. It's beautiful and one of my favorite song from SJ.

It is brilliant, and so unexpected. We expected brilliance, but this performance was unlike anything we had seen from them. That's why we - especially Sabrina - seems so stunned at the end 😆

I'll tell you something, the rapper Eunhyuk was chosen to be a backup dancer for Michael Jackson in 2009 on Michael Jackson's tour in Korea, but he refused it even though he is a big fan of Michael Jackson.

Sorry but that is only a myth. I don't know why that story continues to circulate among the fans. Eunhyuk is an amazing dancer but that never happened.

Thanks for reacting to the kings! As far as recommendations go, the issue with super junior is they’ve been around almost 20 years so they’ve done every genre/style/concept you can think of 😅. If you’d tell us some of your favorite genres or songs, I’m sure the recommendations would come flying. If you just want blanket recommendations, Twins before they added Kyuhyun and officially became super junior. Sorry Sorry is one of the most important songs in kpop history as it went global. One of the main reasons they are known as the kings of the hallyu wave. They are huge in Latino countries and have done collaborations with Latin artists with the songs lo siento and one more time(otra vez). They even did a remake of a popular song and sang it in Spanish. Sorry for the massive text 😅. There is a lot of history and songs to cover with them. But yeah, if you are interested please tell us what kind of songs or music or concepts you normally like 😊
That makes perfect sense that they would cover so many genres/styles/concepts over 20 years! We are most interested in what the fans of SUPER JUNIOR recommend as MUST watches. Our goal is to really understand who they are as a group, and the role they play in K-pop. Your recommendations are spot on! 🤗
@@hallyureviewsus Well they are the blueprint to what kpop has ended up becoming. To this date they are the model they use when creating new kpop groups. They have some really good guides out there and a documentary on Disney plus and Hulu, but I’d recommend the guides. The documentary doesn’t really cover the entire 13 members.

I’m not sure there really is a true consensus amongst ELFs because their history is so incredible vast and complex. Honestly, you could deep dive into each individual member because there’s so much history. Since they started off as 12 members then 13 and then started military services through like 10 years…we ELFs always do a head count for how many members are present at any given time. 😂 Anyway, currently they are 9 with one member on a pretty permanent hiatus from the group (long complicated story and you’ll hear so many versions of it). Oh and did you know that they are the KPop group that started the whole subunit thing? KPop’s OG subunit is Super Junior-K.R.Y. Thanks for wanting to learn about them! There’s so much for you guys to discover! I hope to take up that challenge of knowing them. 😊 (Sorry I realized I’m watching your SJ reactions out of order! )
