@mrsdavidcook3 I saw Les Mis on Broadway and it was wonderful … However, I only recently saw Matt Lucas' performance and I agree with you 100%. I fell in love with him immediately :o)
This is our school musical :) Type in TY- Les Mis and go to 2:09 and just see if you think ours is better :) It's Shaun Young singing Master of the House :)
@TheAxelMan100 and how can you compare aluns with this please explain? there is no footage of him doing it on stage and unless you saw him live in 1985 (which i know you didn't) you couldn't possibly make the comparison because in the 10th anniversary show all that he had to work with was a standing microphone and no other people on stage (unlike the 25th) even then he made it seem extremely lively with the actions he put to it and got one of the biggest applauses of the entire show
@TheAxelMan100 Well actually Mr Know-All, I absolutely do know the characters and stick by what I said originally, absolutely. Not a patch on the original West End stage performance.
@TheAxelMan100 also im not saying which one is better because i did really enjoy that performance what i am saying is you cant compare alun to gary beach because there isn't enough footage
Brilliant, just great him and ASHLEY ARTUS, are my favs.x Gary plays a bit for sympathy the old thing, jeez, he's gotta age 20 years in act 2!!!! But he's good value. Him and Ashley Artus for me. Live. The best.
@brucklay227 He's way better than Alan. Thenardier should be a spontaneous, over-the-top character, and Alan couldn't handle it. Gary definitely could. I'd suggest getting to know the characters before you comment on something like this.
Very weak performance and lacking in character this, nothing by comparison to the original British stage performance. Hardly worth the effort in posting, let alone viewing.
This song is the anti "Be Our Guest" in every sense.
Jenny Galloway is a comedy genius!!
Gary Beach was brilliant! His voice was perfect for the role and the interaction with the customers and Mrs. T in particular had me in stitches!
the best madame thenardier ever!!!
I love Jenny Galloway
GARY BEACH AS THENARDIER!!!!!????? I can now die happy.
my favorite Thenardiers!
I love Gary Beach - his best role has to be in The Producers.
Jenny Galloway!!!
I saw this revival production. This cast was phenomenal and I wish I could see it all again.
Jenny Galloway is fantastic! 4:08
Jenny Galloway is life lol i love her
Food beyond compare...you've got that right! I like how he spits into the meat grater; it adds to the seediness.
R.I.P. Gary Beach . you will be missed
ROGER DE BRIS FINALLY GOT ANOTHER ROLE ON BROADWAY! lmaooo

lol.... at the end Gary pronounced "glass" SO american and Galloway had to pronounce "ass" the same to make it sound right!!!
Aye, but Alun Armstrong will forever have set the bar for Thenardier to me.
macavitythenardier Feel the same way...
macavitythenardier True!

Yea, a little part of it is cut, but I thought the whole thing was.

It was great, but i prefer with Alun Armstrong and Jenny Galloway

I thought they cut that opening part out of the revival...

I don't know what it is but when I hear the American accents I just cringe.
