Who Exactly Are The Galaxy Rangers? | Honkai Star Rail Lore

- In the most recent reveal we got to meet a rather interesting character, Acheron who introduces herself as one of the galaxy rangers. But who exactly are the galaxy rangers and is Acheron even telling the truth? Thats what we'll be getting into in this video, ill be discussing the galaxy rangers, which aeon they follow and theorize a bit on whether Acheron is telling the truth including her motives for penacony
Some part of this video comes from the actual lore while others may be speculation on my part as we currently do not know the full story. As such take it with a grain of salt as the point of this video is just a deeper dive into Honkai Star Rail lore.

For my two cents on Acheron, her character introduction over at Hoyolab in the same article introducing the Galaxy Rangers has a quote from her:
"Galaxy Ranger, Acheron... This is what they call me. You can call me whatever you want."
Perhaps she has memory issues and is just sticking to this identity others have given her. Though the fact she was listed for the Charmony Festival as a Galaxy Ranger makes me think she used to indeed be one, even if she doesn't remember.
I think she is an emanator of Nihility, which is why her memories are constantly being erased, which makes your assumption make sense

Is there a specific reason as to why everyone seems to suspect she may be lying about her being a ranger?
In game she may be nihility but there are plenty of examples for characters that follow a path in lore but have a different one in game like Jing Yuan for example who follows the path of the hunt in lore being part of the xianzhou, but is an erudition character in game.
I noticed that on twt a lot of leakers were saying she wasn't a ranger, maybe that's why they think archeron could be lying

Her drip marketing says she is *claiming* to be a Galaxy Ranger, that already raises some suspicion. If she was a Galaxy Ranger, why wouldn't they just say it, instead of saying she's claiming to be one?
And there's also her line in hoyolab's post about the Galaxy Rangers:
"Galaxy Ranger, Acheron... *This is what they call me.* You can call me whatever you want."
Ah ok. That makes sense. I don't pay too much attention to drip marketing so I wouldn't know.
I think it also has to do with the trailer where she sheds a tear and behind her is a black hole. We know that the aeon of nihility is a black hole so people are saying maybe her being nihility isn't just for gameplay.

Acheron looks like Mei and Firefly looks like Kiana, Welt is having a Bronya and Silver Wolf situation all over again.
Also knowing what i know after finding certain news sources, lets just hope Himeko stays alive with all this fire and thunder around.

why is everyone talking about acheron "claiming" to be a galaxy ranger but she's possibly lying about that? why ppl are doubting her already?

the truth is, next week I have to stop using social media until I finish the next campaign
there isn't much info on this faction outside of the data bank entry you just recounted to us, verbatim. the only interesting point here is that we don't actually know if Acheron is even affiliated with the Rangers anymore, but even then, the only significant lore we have about them is their encounter with Dr. Primitive and how they gradually faded out of sight after the incident. Acheron probably won't be coming till 2.2, but you could have waited till 2.0 to make this cause we'd probably have a bit more information on this faction lmao

If Acheron actually turns out to be a Galaxy Ranger, I don't think we'll see a large force of them at any time because of the Degeneration Flow. Maybe one ot two of them by the time it's all over, but I'd be surprised to see more.
Well we know that most factions were invited to Penacony and Acheron is supposed to be the Galaxy Rangers representative.
