Bro really called Silver "a kind of Sonic" makes me think he's never played a sonic game besides maybe the ones for Genesis Also, all characters in SFSB have different stats and moves, and being separate slots they must be unlocked and lvl up separately. So yes, it's over 100 characters, and no character is paid.
Fang has made a few small appearances since Sonic Drift 2. He was in Sonic the Fighters as a playable character, which was probably his most notable appearance, as well as making cameos of various importance in things like Sonic Mania and Sonic Superstars.
Knuckles was in the first Rivals game because he is one of Sonic's... Rivals. That's the theming of the game so it wouldn't really make sense to not include him in. Knuckles was his rival in Sonic & Knuckles, Shadow was his rival in SA2, Silver was his rival in 06, and Metal was his rival in CD. This was also the basis for the knights you see in Black Knight as they are all of Sonic's rivals as well (Knuckles, Shadow, Blaze, and exclusive to multiplayer are Silver and Jet)
Fun fact: Did you know that Mario was actually considered to be featured as a guest character in the Wii version of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing? However, the idea was rejected to avoid cross-contamination with the Olympic Games series. It's a shame, as the Wii version probably would have been ranked a lot higher then.
It would be perfect if stupid clones like gum or meemee wasn't in the game (I hate meemee with all my hearth), and the fact that the pc version has 7 EXCLUSIVE CHARACTERS is really unfair, team fortress and yogscat are comprehensible , but why we couldn't have ryo kazuki or the general winters :(

BUT I do have my own complaints with the roster, like the fact that Billy hatcher wasn't included or the fact that they removed shadows motorcycle for practically no reason. As for the 7 exclusive characters, Yogscast was added for charity, football manager has always been a PC exclusive series, same with TF, I have no idea why Ryo got the PC boot, I honestly never even heard of general winter till playing Transformed, and the fact that I forgot the other 2 shows that they also probably were just filler.

Great video! The Sonic/Sega All Stars Racing rosters will always be the most memorable for me (specifically the DS and Wii versions). And the Transformed roster is insane. Wreck-It Ralph and Danica Patrick are some of the wildest choices

I've thought about TSR's roster problem a lot and have come up with 5 whole teams that could've if not should've been added down the line. Team Babylon: Jet, Wave, & Storm Team Zeti: Zazz, Zik, & Zomom TEAM CHAOTIX: Espio, Charmy, & Mighty Team Villain: Infinite, Mephiles, & Black Doom Team All-Star: Aiai, Nights, & Ristar
The reason why Tails isn't present in Sonic Rivals is because the game primarily focused on Sonic and, well, his rivals throughout the years. Hence the name Sonic Rivals. I think the story for the first game was Eggman used some machine to turn everyone into trading cards or something, it's been a while since I played the first game.
Sonic Forces Speed Battle gives you the Special Characters by simply doing Event missions, same for Challenger. So they are easy to get. But Common, Rare and Epic are a lot more challenging to get the specific character. It took me forever to get Gamma

I feel like an interesting idea if it could interest you would be to look at stage/level rosters from different franchises (ex: Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, Sonic games, etc) 👍

Racing Transformed is honestly one of the best racing games I've ever played. Gameplay is good, Roster is good, Singleplayer content is good, you could play online too and the whole transforming mechanic to be able to have air and boat races is just great.

Probably doesn't change anything but you forgot the Xbox Avatar for Free Riders. In the case of Speed Battle and Infinite. He was really good when he came out but they nerfed his items moreso rather than his stats iirc.

@@GWallPro Sorta yes and no. The way Speed Battle works, you do races to get chests, and the chests contain character cards. Get a certain amount to unlock a character and then more to level them up. Blue, Yellow, and Purple (Common, Rare, Super Rare) characters can be obtained at any time. Green is Event Characters where they'll usually only be obtainable during a event time period by completing event missions. Red is Challenger and it's a separate type of event where those characters will take a spot in your races and beating them will get you a chest with their cards in it. For Green and Red characters you'll definitely have to wait to see what events happening, though they did add 2 features recently where you can get event missions for characters not a part of the current event, and they can give you 1 or 2 free plays with a character you haven't unlocked each day iirc. If you know a game called Sonic Dash, Sonic Forces is pretty much a Multiplayer version of that. The same devs for them also does Sonic Racing, which may be getting more updates soon cause they added a new alt for Rouge.
There's a footnote in my video when I rank the Wii version that says every other version of the game (including DS) would be ranked at the same spot as Wii. I just chose not to talk about it. Hope you enjoyed the video regardless!
Team Sonic Racing is almost solid as a roster. As it doesn’t have any clones or anything... but man. Its a roster that frustrates me a lot personally. Why is Vector not a part of his Chaotix team and randomly with Silver and Blaze. Why is Cream replaced with literal Chao as a seperate spot. And of course, any Sonic game with Zavok is is just inherently less enjoyable lol. So many other ways I would've done it.

Knuckles should’ve been replaced with Espio in Rivals 1 (Cuz you know Espio was a speed type in heroes) and then Knuckles could’ve been a new inclusion in Rivals 2.
But Espio wasn't a rival of Sonic's nor has he been seen as being on Sonic's level like the other three at the time. Even in Sonic Heroes, Espio never met Sonic until the end and he and his team fought Shadow and Amy's teams
Bringing back team rose but removing cream and keeping BIG, is insane, TO THIS DAY I’ll never understand the logic behind not letting her race for being a kid, she can’t race a car but she can race on a piece of hover board metal all over the world in a Grand Prix against sonic knuckles tails and the Babylon rogues? Did we forget about how sonic adventure made people hate big SO MUCH he HAD to be excluded from games for a few years, while that grudge is mostly gone everyone would prefer cream over big and that’s a opinion that seemingly everyone agrees with except for the game devs on sonic team, not to mention replacing her with chao? People have been begging for chao to come back for years and you do it LIKE THIS?? we want another garden
i think silver and blaze alone warrant zero gravity being an 8, the robots are a little worse but i think billy hatcher fits in more easily with sonic than ulala does. i understand missing aiai though he's a goat
free riders evening out to a 7 for losing the sega crossover characters but gaining metal sonic and vector makes sense but i love metal sonic being in riders

TSR should be lower. How you gonna make a Team-based Sonic Racer, in obvious reference to Sonic Heroes, and NOT have all the teams from that game present? Why isn't Cream on Team Rose instead of Omochao? Why is Vector the only Chaotix member and on a team with Blaze and Silver? Why couldn't they get Marine a VA and make her the 3rd member of Blaze's team so Vector could be with his bois? Who the heck asked for Zavoc, and why is he working for Eggman, who he hates mind you for enslaving him in Lost World? If you're gonna have him her, why not with Zazz and Zeena for a Zeti Team? There's just so much wasted potential with what should've been an EZ solid roster.

Ok but you forgot the Apple Version for Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed, and ngl some characters are p2w, keep in fact that the game was free (it has been shutdown in 2021 if i remember) as someone that played it in 2014, i will give it a 6 out of 10, and Ryo Hazuki used to be a daily challenge racer and you had to play the game everyday to keep him, 6/10

Yeah like the game is fine and there are no doubt some awesome characters like the Chao squad, but I just would've liked to see maybe one more team. Thanks for watching!
Ok but you forgot the Apple Version for Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed, and ngl some characters are p2w, keep in fact that the game was free (it has been shutdown in 2021 if i remember) as someone that played it in 2014, i will give it a 6 out of 10, and Ryo Hazuki used to be a daily challenge racer and you had to play the game everyday to keep him, 6/10

It's a platformer game, not a racer, thus I didn't include it.
