My first car ever was a 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis. I LOVED that car. My only issue with it... I worked 3rd shift at a manufacturing company for pet food and supplies. I worked from 10PM until anywhere from 6-9AM. Here's the problem. That front "bench" seat was more comfortable than the $2000 sofa I had at home. I spent every morning on my 30 minute drive home with the windows all the way down, and 50 Cent's "Get Rich Or Die Trying: Movie Soundtrack" Playing at max volume through 4 pioneer car speakers and 2 Rockford Fosgate's 12" Subs. And even then, I fought back hibernation. I loved that car more than my dog, my woman and my mother. And I spent more time with it than them also. :D. Keep that car MINT. You'll never forget the bastard.
Awesome story Mr. Snow! I did have a few trips where it was difficult to keep my eyes open. With some Creedance in the Prenium sound speakers and a huge mug of coffee (with a cover on, naturally) I managed to get through. Problem is, with that bench seat, I'm so used to them I wouldn't go for any less in another car. haha
I recently bought a 1989 Grand Marquis that is almost a twin to yours. Mine has the dark blue crushed velour interior and was a 50th Anniversary edition with gold trim and carraige type roof covering. It only has 67,000.0 miles and is in excellent shape. It now joins my two Ford Crown Victoria Wagons a 1987 and a 1991 in my collection.
Real handsome car with the optional formal roof. The Mercury was so much better looking than the Ford which had a weird rear end that I never ever got used to.
Also one other difference of mine from yours is I have the aluminum turbine wheels and the stainless steel vent shades on all four doors. I do not have the power seat on the passenger side only drivers side.
Hola sr este señor carrazo esta muy hermoso y muy elegante carro le mando un cordial saludo de su amigo fco Nares c hoy 24 julio 2019 saludos de desde mi país de México
Gotta love that 5.0 v8, the engine so famous its sounds are used in movies and tv even today. Seriously, at 3:03 how often have you heard that noise in media when a car starts
i love the rugged elegance of these older, box-style cars. got a 99 crown vic and it's a nice car and all but once ford went all aero (1991-2011 i think) with these cars, the interior and exterior styling got really boring. i wish my car had the all-around styling of this thing!
The 98-11 cars have very subtle styling. No one notices it and games don't usually model it but even the trunk lid on these cars have like a little duck tail thing going on. I like the subtle sportiness to them.
I don't know where you live, but it's a gorgeous area! (especially with the trees) And to the car; gorgeous! I appreciate you keeping it stock.. seems like the remainder of these cars are donked out unfortunately. Your color combo isn't very common either. Now I really love this generation of panther bodies but I gotta ask what's it like daily driving one of these? Expensive to keep running? Parts hard to find? As a broke teenager I'm worried that I won't be able to afford to either A. buy gas, and B. afford the bigger maintenance. (not the usual preventive basic stuff)
They really aren't too expensive if you buy it in good enough shape I bought one as my first car and still have it just remember when you buy a car that old no matter what it's going to fall apart especially in your first year owning it but once it get all fixed up they are fairly reliable and parts are very plentiful, you want a car that parts are easy to find 80s-90s Ford crown Vics and Chevy caprices But for big repairs I'd say unless it's a new engine or trans you won't break past 600 And gas wise it gets about 14 mpg not the greatest but it's got drive for the city and overdrive for the highway it helps somewhat
At 9:32, it sounds like this has an electronic turn signal flasher. Did you change it? As far as I know, the box Panthers through '91 got the old-style Wagner thermal flashers with the metallic click.
I noticed you have a fob on the key chain. Keyless entry? If so what did you brand did you use? I know the didn’t come from the factory with keyless entry but looking to install on my 90. Any information would help.
these are pretty great cars other then the typical power windows/locks general wear any other vehicle has... my 85 has 272,000 Miles on original motor and trans and only just now is the motor getting tired
This year makes the 5th year I own the car. A/C is still broken. still have it, I have no plan of selling it. ...yet:) EDIT: the A/C is repaired and is blowing ice old air.
Love how the engine fan sounds on that Ford 5.0 V8. Reminded me of my moms 89 crown Vic

Getting my first car in march, grand marquis 1987. Really excited to drive it since my grandfather gave it to me 3 years ago before he died.
I bought one back in June for $400 and it is so much fun to drive
Wow. She's a beaut. Love these old boxes.
That is amazing, it's detailed and looks brand new. For its age it looks like its in excellent condition.

Such excellent condition, truly a nice ride.

Thanks, I try to keep it clean at all times.
Your Grand Marquis is stunning. I'm envious!

Love the 1990 MGM. Miss my 1988. Would love to see more of this car. Eventually find one in the condition of yours wow.
Your wish has been answered!

I Wonder where can I get a 1990 or 1991 Grand Marquis. For the only pleasure to have it. Loved this amazing comfortable car.
The only situation is rising prices of Gasoline :(
that's the same stereo my dad's 89 taurus sho had. it was the jbl sound system. those are pretty nice.
chulada de car one of the good cars that has been in history 👌👌👌
Excellent video I'm a mercury lover
Me too. Too bad Ford dissolved the brand.
Very beautiful car! I wish we had some of those big American boats here in Europe.
You will miss this car of you sold. Keep it. It's hard to find them in this condition especially up north.

nice freaking car man. column shifter, rev the engine. age of automotive design died around early 2000s..
Is that 200 mph
@@jamalpolite9670 200 kph (126 mph). So, the car must be a Marquis for the Canadian market.
Love the car and everything, but is nobody gonna talk about how he is playing music from a freaking PSP?
I have updated to a wireless bluetooth cassette adapter paired with my smartphone now.
Gotta love that 5.0 v8, the engine so famous its sounds are used in movies and tv even today. Seriously, at 3:03 how often have you heard that noise in media when a car starts
👍🏾 Nice Antique car
Grandma !!! Its your car....

1992-2011
1992 to 2011 were the aero design. 88 to 91 had this same body.

I didn't modify it, maybe the first owner did
Beautiful 🔥🔥😍😍
Actually it's 56,315 km. 34,992.519 miles.
Old manI bought my 1989 Grand Marquis from called it "Queen of the Highway"
nice car!
If you still have this Grand Marquis, could you swap out the chime in favor of the Electronic Voice Alert from a mid 80s Chrysler?
I noticed you have a fob on the key chain. Keyless entry? If so what did you brand did you use? I know the didn’t come from the factory with keyless entry but looking to install on my 90. Any information would help.
Good eye! Actually, it's my garage door opener.
Beautiful car
Now looking back ,was it a good car or did have problems ?
these are pretty great cars other then the typical power windows/locks general wear any other vehicle has... my 85 has 272,000 Miles on original motor and trans and only just now is the motor getting tired
Which one? I'll give you all three, in order.
Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin
Do you Remember When - The J. Geils Band
Gorgo - Ungava
I've had my 89 for 2 years and I still can't get it to run right.
Take it to the shop if you have enough funds or if you dont when you do get enough then just tell them whatevers wrong fix it if its worth the fix .
NICE...
I wish my 91 was that emaculate
Nice :)
Thanks
Its too bad the final years of these cars didn't have a 351 ( Lightning spec) engine option
Would have been nice if he had talked about it and said maybe more then 1 or 2 words lol
whats the name of the song you played on your psp
Was this filmed in the Montreal area?
Quebec City actually
How long have you had the car? Do you still own it? Did you have the A/C retrofitted, and if so, was it an expensive or difficult proposition?
This year makes the 5th year I own the car. A/C is still broken. still have it, I have no plan of selling it. ...yet:) EDIT: the A/C is repaired and is blowing ice old air.
