Next time you weld something that thick grind a bevel into it it'll help with penitration so when you're going fast you're wheels don't fall off but you might have gotten some good penitration also do spot welds then weld fully so you don't warp it not trying to bash you just some helpful tips just a fella that was once in your shoes
Yeah that is on my list because the 1st generation steering sucks butt to the extreme but later on I am going to find a way to do a rack in pinion conversion on this!
Hey man I’ve built a few and I suggest you make a tie rod so you can adjust your toe and plus it’s just stronger and has no play I used 1/2-20 threaded rod and 1/2-20 thread 1/2” bore heim joints.
Great video! I posted a long comment with some good info, but in case you don't see it, sometimes comments don't show up on TH-cam studio, because they're under the "held for review" category. If that's the case it's just because I have some links to some welders. I know I've missed comments on my channel in the past because of this so I just wanted to let you know.
I assume probably not because then the wheel would be way too high and it might bottom out. Maybe if I lowered the front axle down to compensate, but this seems to work fine though.
Thanks for watching!

Thanks dude! Useful information!
@@IngenTechNational fs I've made quite a few things
@@Justin-oe9fs Yeah!
Id upgrade to the better craftsman steering system or modify a go kart steering to work with the front axle
On top of that id do a poor mans power steering to help the steering turn really good on stock riding mower which is roller bearings on front axles

I might try that in the future, we'll see!
I had rebuilt the steering box and replaced that bushing
Are those fishing lures on the wall

could you have turned each spindle upside down raher than cut and weld

You could have done a transaxle flip instead of the jackshaft
Maybe!
top speed??
Way it is right now with a 1:1 pulley ratio it is about 22mph (governor is bypassed)
Next video, how about not waving the camera around.
How about you don’t watch it
