I used marigolds to attract pollinators and other beneficial insects. I used nasturtiums as aphid traps; I would grow dozens of plants. When a different plant became infected by aphids, I would move a nasturtium beside that other plant. Almost overnight, all the aphids would move to the nasturtium. Plus, nasturtiums (flowers and leaves) are edible and quite flavourful.
And they stay close to the ground! Boy you would’ve gotten along well with my family! it’s such a beautiful science, achieving the balance of a thriving garden! 😀💈💜
This scent took me back to my childhood. My great grandmother was born and lived near cologne Germany. She always had bottles of 4711 around and gifted them to the men in my family.
