Congratulations on making it. Always remember you a part of a very special group. Bronchitis aka "Cape May crud." Been there, done that. What was your company?
My stepson was the first person to be reverted he got reverted in the second week from Romeo 197 to Sierra 197. He adjusted to his new company really well. Romeo company reverted dang near half it's people. Sierra 10 percent. He said his drill instructors in Sierra rwere very tough but they were willing to work with recruit that were having difficulties in something. Yeah they would berate you while they were helping you but they would still help. He said in Romeo company all they would do is berate you and try to get you revertef

You had FUN at Coast Guard bootcamp? WOW, you don't hear that every day of the week. When I went through Cape May the Coast Guard had a competition with the Marine Corps to have the toughest boot camp. If you were a slob or screwed up when I was there you'd be on your way to a living hell in the dreaded Red Belts (now called Performance Enhancement Platoon - PEP) so fast your head would spin. I once saw a guy in Red Belts who had a badly swollen leg who was forced to keep running with his full sea bag until his leg broke as he was running up the steps to enter the mess hall and his Company Commander then went over and poured himself a cup of coffee as the recruit lay on the floor of the chow hall screaming in pain. The Company Commander loudly told the staff in the chow hall NOT to call the ambulance because the recruit wasn't going anywhere until the Company Commander had finished his coffee, which he did sit down and drink while the kid lay on the floor screaming in pain with a broken leg. After the CC finished his coffee they called the ambulance and took the guy to the hospital. Some Company Commanders are great people and some are flaming assholes who like to abuse their authority over young recruits. Come prepared for the toughest eight weeks of your life at Cape May. They run a tight ship and they don't tolerate any bullshit. And YES, it will be worth it in the long run. Just keep telling yourself - A few weeks of pain for a lifetime of honor and pride. You CAN do it! Good Luck.
I was there and I saw it happen along with a Mess Hall full of other people who were there at the time. It really happened just like I described it. If any Company Commander or Drill Instructor did that today they'd probably throw them UNDER the brig.
Cape May is the only Coast Guard boot camp for enlisted personnel since 1981 and YES it is extremely difficult.
