    When you held up that beautiful green yard I immediately thought that it would look beautiful with navy blue. Then to my happy surprise you held up it’s running mate. I had a navy and green striped shirt many moons ago & loved it to death. I especially love the depth💕🦊 of the Navy Yarn.

    Lilly- another great podcast hanging out with you, would love to see a separate Rhinebeck video is you are up for it. New camera is wonderful as well. The Acorn sweater is absolutely divine!! Gorgeous...........I love how you are incorporating the colors, so so good. I could relate to so many parts of your journey on this viewing......distractions with wanting to knit ALL the things, which has landed me into now knitting 3 test knit sweaters...........love them all but what have I done? I told myself ENOUGH!! And then yarn........I got totally swept up in an amazing sale that Brooklyn Tweed just had with cones...........I just could not resist the sale and ended up with lots of yarn that I have never knit with before but "know" it will be amazing. Thanks for sharing your acquisitions, THAT green....wow!

    No Kool-Aid Man trauma here! 😂 I did enjoy the “OH yeah.”
    I would also love to make a Cargill - it looks so cozy but also classy. The green and navy yarns look great together, as does your nutiden combo. So pretty!

    I use ChiaoGoo needles, too. They make bamboo needles, and while the set comes with a different type of cord, they work with the red cords, too. Their bamboo needles are smooth finished and have a little bit of slip. I have a set of stainless, a set of bamboo, and use the red cords exclusively. I don’t think many people realize that this is possible, and I highly recommend it. Love your podcast!

    Great podcast. Love the idea of 220 stitches for the half and half wrap. Look forward to seeing if the size is perfect. Look forward to seeing your next visit about Rhinebeck .

    A friend of mine had her sleeves on cables and stitch stoppers, and wore her jean jacket over it at our Woolstock Fibre Festival. No shame at all! We all had a huge laugh over it. I recently started a second Half and Half wrap, and also using my Lykke needles, but using a short cord, probably around 20". I have 330 stitches on it, because it's for hubby so far so good. Maybe a shorter cord might work better for you.

    I have birdie waiting to become a cumulus blouse too! I bought two colours with intentions to hold it double so I may need to size down depending on gauge. We should knit it together!

    You might want to try the lantern moon cables on the Lykke needles they make swivel cables and they’re great. I have them and I love them. They fit the Lykke needles I have an interchangeable set and I don’t use the cords.

  • @solangethompson4251

    thanks for another great podcast. Was just thinking about your lykke cord issue- I own chiaogoo needles, and mostly use the metal tips- but have just started using some 'Spin' wooden tips- which are compatible with the red cords- so maybe that would help? I love them for more slippery yarns. Love your puff sleeve top too.

    Your haircut makes you look younger. I am old enough to be your mother, but I’m right there with you on the LInen Quill! I think I have 10 different colors, now. I’m about as far along on my half n half as you are. I just finished my first sweater in the Nutiden for my husband. I haven’t heard anyone address how to weave in the ends. It pulls apart and using a crochet hook isn’t much better. So, I felted it. The sweater has a turned in ribbed collar which I had to sew/whip stitch down. I sure couldn’t use the Nutiden so I had to use a different yarn which didn’t really match but no one was going to see it. How do you handle that?

    • @Lily_curatorial_knits
      @Lily_curatorial_knits  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are too kind, Kathi! And yes! Lots of thoughts on weaving in Nutiden.
      I really just tuck it in and let it slice into the yarn on the backside, which I suppose is just like felting it. I’ve never used a felting needle directly, but I also have really trusted the material to stay together and I’ve had no issues-including on my massive, all over cables piece. 🤞 😂 ❤️

    I definitely laughed out loud at the kool aid man comment 😂.
    I’ve been enjoying watching your podcast and am catching up on a few older ones.
    Also just to add, the new lantern moon steel cords also fit the lykke needles. They’re not as great as chioogoo but still good. :)

    I'm actually knitting on a cumulus blouse in birdie as I'm watching the podcast! I love the fabric, but I'm holding it single. 1 strand held single of Birdie is the same as 2 strands of mohair held double in my opinion (both in gauge and fabric drape/density), the fabric of my current cumulus has the same structure as the fabric of my other cumulus made with 2 strands of knitting for olive soft silk mohair. Hope that helps!! Either way it's the softest garment I've ever knitted, and I already want to cast on like 10 more

    • @Lily_curatorial_knits
      @Lily_curatorial_knits  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Megan this is so helpful! I haven’t searched yet, but I am really hoping I can hold one strand-that would be great and I’ve got even more plans for the other skeins!!

    • @megm202
      @megm202 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Lily_curatorial_knits I'm so glad I could help! I knit a size M but with gauge it fits like an L (I was one stitch off in my stitch gauge and the math worked out really well and I didn't feel like swatching with a smaller needle size hah), and if I had done 3/4 length sleeves (I did full length) I would have gotten a whole sweater out of 2 balls of birdie. just needed to break out the 3rd skein for the last like 30 rows of the last sleeve. So you can definitely get multiple garments if you bought enough to hold it double!
