Thanks for the review 👍Tasted the same sample, a few months back. I found it had quite a sweet and smoky flavour and leaves your mouth/throat very dry. Interesting rum and might pick up a bottle sometime, but I have others I prefer right now 🤔
I'm primarily a scotch drinker but this is great for a change. i've had it many times and really like it for the big taste and choccy/caramel/toffee notes, & although not something i'd drink all night. I always look forward to the odd dram of it (neat of course, i don't do cocktails). btw goslings say it's 16-19 years old, and i do think it's a tad on the expensive side too, but if in the mood i'll pay it. thanks for the review.
Cheers! Yeah, I've seen Goslings say that, but for the price, there's little to no chance of it actually being a minimum of 16yo. Unless they've bought the cheapest Rum available and flavoured it. You'd surely be looking at a lot more money than what it retails at. But hey, there's always mystery surrounding Rum.
@@StevetheBarmanRumReviews i'm not sure if they could get away false advertising as you allude to regarding the age, it certainly doesnt happen with scotch for example, and as bermuda is a british overseas territory perhaps they are bound by the same rules, but i dont know for sure. anyhoo i'll still buy the odd bottle when i fancy it, as IMHO the flavours stand up on their own anyway and i quite like it !!. i've bought many 10yo+ rums in the past, and am always surprised how cheap they are compared to the equivalent age scotch, so £60 is still 'up there' for a rum no matter what. Been very curious about that bottle in particular. Have not tried it yet. Thanks.
I would say it's deffo worth giving it a spin, even though it's on the higher side price wise for rum, and hard to think you will be disappointed. GL
Not sure if it's Solera style, but the gosling's website says its aged from 16-19
I still haven’t looked tbh!
