- so i saw a few tutorials that explained roblox lighting, but none of them really covered everything, i dunno maybe some did. but anyway i decided to take my own crack at it, so hopefully you find this useful B)
yes this video is longer than the other videos talking about the same topic, but i wanted to really explain it in a way where it could be understood, rather than a way which would make the video shorter, if that makes any sense

For color shift bottom, it currently does nothing on future but,l on color shift top, it is the hue that the light of the sun gives off while ambient is the hue of the whole game in general. For color shift top, it is recommend to use a super pale orange or yellow.

Color shift top is very useful. It changes the tint of the sunlight. Color shift bottom is very useless. It does almost nothing.

Plus, Future lets you do this funky thing where if you set the colour to a negative value, it just removes the light inside its radius

"Future is great" future fucking breaks light sources. It makes them have near-instant light level dropoff at the point where its light range ends hence ending up looking like the light just disappears out of nowhere at certain distance.
Shadowmap may not have real-time dynamic shadows, but the baked ones are much softer which is a go-to if you really just need to have a semi-decent (or better) lighting in a closed space with lots of different light sources.
but pretty shadow!!!!!!! jokes aside, future is pretty jank, theres a bunch of things that just dont work when you use future
@@rkgam3zs yeah - the most atmospheric pvp games I know (blackout, criminality, cw) use ShadowMap and boy do they look good!

depth of field, you can simulate not having your glasses! (now its a matter of time before someone makes glasses that you need in roblox)

Another way: baking the global illumination (Using PointLights) 😊 ...But that's pretty frustrating to set up

Can lightning change depending on where you stand in the game... Like when you go from beach biome where its hot and stuff to the grave area where literally everything changes?

My studio one day started lagging so much, mostly when i open anything like the toolbox. Normally i get 40 or less fps even with a good pc, but when i open the toolbox i get around 20 fps. Bow do i fix it?
