Cheers. However I read somewhere that you should leave off doing the job for about fifteen minutes after disconnecting the battery, as there is a capacitor on the airbag circuit that needs to drain. It could still set off the airbag.

Yes, whilst it's unlikely, there's a possibility that the airbag will be set off when you try and remove it so it is advised to leave it until the battery's been disconnected for about 15 minutes

Thanks mate. Got a new steering wheel didn't put it on straight as I thought there was a certain spline the wheel had to line up with, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I'll make it nice and straight tomorrow morning.

Both my wheels had a certain spline.....both my car and the donor car were face-lift examples so maybe it's a face-lift thing

@@qam2878 Yh, I later realised this so I just got a proper alignment done.
To my dismay, it only lasted for 2 weeks before I swerved the car against a curb at 20mph. Steering got knocked out of alignment once again.

I bought an Opel Corsa C in 2001 (brand new), incl. side airbag (AJ7) for 600 guilders then. 22 years later I still haven’t got a clue where it is and what I’ve paid for. Is it the one on the passenger side or are there more than one?
