Hey Cooper - what’s the story on that Cutlass? One-off? It’s killer! The VP4 is pretty dang cool. A nice all in one for those of us who play bar gigs with real amps for sure!
Could this replace the fc-12? That thing is clunky and a pain to program. I just have a studio setup and don’t play gigs, so I don’t need to access the axe fx presets with my feet.
a vast majority of the market aren't "pro" players. And most gigging musicians can't always bring large boards with 8+ effects. This checks a LOT of boxes for people that want to keep using their amps but have a versatile selection of effects and sounds. For the cost of entry here, Id argue you're getting way more capability than a comparable traditional pedalboard (assuming you are in face going for versatility, and not a board focused on one exact style or sound).
This is a great release from fractal...I think it's going to capture a new market fo users for sure. I can also see current fractal users grabbing this as an alternate gear when using a traditional amp in place of the current products for FX only. Curious if they're going to release an amp and cab only unit too, to compete with ToneX, and similar new gear that has been focused on just the amplifier side of things
Tones are not blowing me away. Reminds me of the Boss GT1000. Decent but Meh and this thing only has 4 effects? $700? No way..and NO AMPS. Fail. Nice playing at least.
@@TFT-bp8zk Not really. I listen to other modelers, including Fractal FM9 and they all sound great. This is a $200 pedal. An insult honestly- 4 effects and nearly a grand after tax and shipping. No thanks. A used FM3 would be far more capable and better and it has amps.
@@theouterplanet Indeed, you are correct. They really missed the mark. They seem out of touch. This might appeal to 5% of pro players but for the rest of us? Never. No Amps. 4 Effects is a joke and an insult. No Effects Loop and after tax and shipping, nearly a grand? Epic fail. Honestly, it makes them look bad. I generally like the company and their fine modelers- best there is, but I would take a lightly used FM3 before this any day- you would get so much more for around the same price. This thing might appeal to about 5% of players- pro's. Problem is, they are trying to sell it to us Joe's. That is going to fail big time. You watch- this thing will disappear from the conversation real quick, once these influencers stop plugging it. Four decent pedals, 100 dollars each, plus a board and a power supply and cables, and the hassle of setting that up, or one box that does it all for 699USD. Also keep in mind that the effects available in the VP4 are easily as good as from high end pedals such as those from Strymon, which are often individually 300USD or more.
