You should be so proud of yourself. I’ve watched all your trials and tribulations of this year and look at what you still pull out of the bag! You sir are a champion and I hope you remind yourself of this moment going forwards when you doubt yourself. Also Liz, always there and always supporting just when you need it most. 🎉🎉 what a partner in life and sport
Long time no speak to Dan. Total total respect for completing what looks like a nightmare event. Just on the weight gain....it will happen when you get injuries it's part of being an athlete I guess. I've had 2 years of injury and put on 2 stone and only starting to shift it now. Again, brilliant effort mate! Hope Liz is ok 😊
@@jontywilloughby4256 thanks very much Jonty, really appreciate that. Good to hear you’re through the injury, well done for sticking with the process for 2 years! Weight isn’t the be all and end all, but it certainly does make cycling and running up hills easier or harder 🤣👊 thanks for watching
It was a cracking day, couldn’t have asked for better weather. The only down side of the weather was how busy snowdon was. It’s such a shame this is the last one, I love this event and would come back year after year. Well done for finishing the full, such a great effort. See you at Celtman 2025?
I love it what a race my friend you crushed it. I enjoyed the narrator format and what a beautiful event. You making me want to add the Patagonia xtri full to my bucket list
What a really enjoyable video. Thanks to you, Liz, Chris and everyone else for documenting (and doing) this event and sharing the experience with us. Well done.
I done my first ever triathlon at the age of 50 on Sunday completed Ironman 70.3 in Weymouth wanted to challenge myself had to learn how to swim it’s amazing feeling when you cross the finish line and you realise what you’ve done
Brilliant effort, brilliant support team, brilliant video. Your message that you can do so much even when the run up hasn't been perfect is personally motivating too (70.3 in 5 weeks...with a hernia that has reduced my running!). You can be really proud of this and the whole channel (and so can Liz too!)
Look at you go 🚀 this is such a lonely race in comparison to the big Ironmans so those mental walls are so so tough but you were absolutely ace. This remains the hardest race ever IMO so you’re a real life superhero 🦸🏼♂️
Excellent video Dan and camera-man Chris! Thanks for putting the extra effort into this. I did the Half and managed to say hi before the start of the swim. It's great to be able to watch this and take me back to race day. I've done about 15 other triathlons over 10 years and this race was really different. Not just the course, but the vibe. Really chilled and friendly, just like found too. Boy it was hard though. Any time I tried running up the mountain I was feeling dizzy after 30 seconds. Wish I had taken poles. I managed to run most of the way down but legs were shredded for the next 5 days. Knowing people were out doing the Full and the Double while I was home and tucked up in bed was a weird feeling. I kept watching the live timing to see how people were doing. Some incredible athletes out there. It's such a shame it's the last one as I'd love to go longer in future. Well done on getting it done. Relentless forward progression is a great attitude to take into future races.
Really appreciate that! Wow, awesome work to be able to run down Snowdon, I’m in awe of the people able to do that. Ah yes I felt the same, when I went to do the narration on the Sunday morning and athletes were just going out on the run on the double I was like wow!
@@TriathlonDanI saw other peoplein the race coming down the mountain running - they must have taken the train I said to the medic! But sure enough on the not too slippy sections I managed to run nr way down. Being 100kg helps downhill ... A good tip if you're going up a mountain, track the elevation on your Garmin and look for mile stones e.g. 1000ft, 2000ft.. Rather than distance, you can see roughly how much work you've put in, and how much higher you still have to go.
Outdone yourself here mate, fantastic effort both in terms of the performance but also the film itself. It’s easy to be hard on ourselves but I think what you need to remember is you have many years of doing this, so even if you’re injured for a while or not at peak fitness, all those previous years are there in your body and mind to be called upon. You’re inspiring me to at least try to get going on the bike again. Keep it up dude.
After completing an Olympic triathlon today, I settled down to enjoy my food and knew this would be a great watch. Very much enjoyed it and very well done for completing it Dan. One heck of a challenge.
Absolutely bloody amazing. This really shows how important it is to have a good support team around us. Without the support of our partners we can't do these things. You are a tough man, well done. Think you need to lend me your camera guy for Ironman Leeds 😜
What an awesome achievement well done, absolutely loved following along with your build up to the brutal which really helped with my training for Ironman Weymouth, in fact as I was on the run on Sunday and I was thinking great Triathlon Dan should be uploading the brutal vid today 😂 really helped me get going having something to look forward too. Well done again and looking forward to more content 🏊🚴🏃🏼💪
