I agree, a lot of these watches are sized better for small and average wrists. I like this one a lot ! Size, colors, case, bezel, bracelet... just great ! Thanks for this review 🙂
Just got my first San Martin the Tudor gmt homage opaline dial, I compared it to the original in the AD and there are subtle differences and the Tudor is more refined in details but the SM is Slightly smaller 40mm and thinner plus 20mm lugs feels great on, off ebay half retail, it will do till a real Tudor comes my way. Cheers from England
I don’t know why everybody that likes San Martin has to do the apology clause. I go back to the expense watches like tutor. If that’s not a clone I don’t know what is. And I don’t trust a lot of these watch manufactures. They’re offering their swiss watch manufacturing all over Asia. Nobody’s really watching what goes on. At least with San Martin they’re upfront. These are made in China by Chinese kids and we don’t slap a Swiss label on it.
I understand that mechanical watches has a massive fan base, but sometimes I would love to have something quality like San Martin and Baltany, but with quartz movement. I have simply no patience to hassel with mechanics. I put the watch down and pick up some days later sometimes. There are decent quartz movements, San Martin, Baltany should make some models with them (Seiko VH31 for example). Okay, there others like SteelDive, AddiesDive, good watches, but not the same quality, IMHO (sorry). Also, San Martin using NH35 in no-date watches, which is not good. I personally do not like date watches, and also ghost date watches. They simply should put the NH38 instead of the NH35 in their no-date models.
this reminds me of that Islander watch, i think the port jeff? ive always had my eye on some SM watches, but man, I just can't get with the logo. I wish it looked better
There is something oddly intriguing about this colour palette, I'll grant you that. At first glance I'd think it shouldn't work and then you kind of just accept it. It's not without balance. Yet, I can't say that I'm getting to the point of truly liking it for anything other than being different and a little bit daring. While all aspects seem to be well made and machined, there is little that elevates this watch beyond exactly what it is in terms of the shaping: a very affordable piece. Now, that is not to say that very similar shaping cannot be found on far more expensive watches. It's probably as much to do with the rather overcrowded and formulaic basic time only dive watch style. Here, regardless of how it's built, I feel the flair is only varnish deep.
These brands better than the bigger brands because they listen to the community and use sapphire crystals and good Lume and adjust bracelets. If that watch was any Swiss brand it would be thousands of dollars and terrible Lume in so many cases and if Pagani design can put sapphire crystals on case back and crystal with solid end Link a decent Lume for $100 why does a Seiko 5 cost $300 and some others being thousands
Not meaning to be a troll but am genuinely curious: why don't people ever discuss/acknowledge the sharpness of these watches, particularly around the clasp and the bracelet links? Feel like that should be part of the conversation because with major brands yes they cost more but they're also rounded/soft to the touch rather than sharp.
That is not a troll question at all. You’re right, some of the Chinese watches are quite sharp. But not all. I have not touched the San Martin, so I can’t say. I just wanted to reassure you that it’s a good question.
Unfortunately you are absolutely right. I have a San Martin BB54 Homage (SN0138) and my arm is marked because of the bracelet having sharp edges. It becomes quite uncomfortable to wear the watch hours straight without taking it off, but no one talks about it.
I bought this watch. Great watch. But, the bracelet is horrible. Smallest screws I have ever seen. Even the tool they give you to adjust the bracelet is too big to fit the screws!
YES!!!!! SAN MARTIN ARE BETTER THEN ANY OTHER WAT HES THEY DONT MAKE COPYS OF OTHER WATCHES THEY MAKE A HOMAGES AND THERE BEAUTIFUL....AND THE FINISHING IS GREAT! AND PROXIMA IS AMAZING AS WELL...👍
I understand what you mean! It can be a struggle in choosing. This piece however is really nice!
I picked 1 up because of the dial and yeah it's a perfect fit!! I love it!!
I cant stop checking this watch out. Cant wait for it to come back in stock amazing color way.

Nice colour really love the LUME.
Looks pretty cool.
I truly hope Seestern keeps up their original design. Maybe 20 years from now people may even forget they were a Homage Company. Thanks!
Gorgeous face and awesome bracelet ❤ thanks Rob
It's definitely a cool colorway.
I got the black dial, and I love it, but that’s a pretty awesome colourway.

Wow! I'm impressed by the clasp for the price point! Better then 1-2k watches O_O! I'm looking at you Seiko, Yema, Oris ..
I think this watch looks great. It pops.
I dig everything about that. 😎⌚
😮 I love it so nice
❤ nice review Rob!❤ this is a great looking watch
That is quite a looker.

The fact that San Martin joined WatchCrunch tells you something about how they value the watch collecting community
Enjoying mine! Rob, how was your bracelet sizing experience? I found it difficult to remove links, even with the screws
Just came across a photo on Reddit, unfortunately it is sold out everywhere I see :(
Rob, any chance to do Aragon?
Ask Eowyn first!

They are sold out now (still appear on websites but zero stock).

Long live (good quality) homage watches! 🥳 Super clones? FU all👎🏻
Whats wrong with homage watches, if you like it wear it

I like O&H way better than San Martin !!!
This watch is not an homage of anything at all..colorway...case shape or a thing
Hate the logo, don't like the hands, I find them too skinny
