Hi Jose, thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience in printing. Because of your tutorials, I have decided to get into printing starting this year 2023. Although I can only manage to budget for an IX6770 Canon that's the model number assigned for our country in Asia. It took me a while to really decide whether to dive into it or not. I know it's not a great printer, but for a start and as my learning curve grows, thanks to you; I hope I can maximize what it can produce for good-quality photos. I'm taking it slow and following your advice to start with OEM and driver control settings. I really hope to build the skills for it, before I can really reach out for one of those high-end printers which you personally own while understanding the Pros and cons of owning one. Thank you and I look forward to learning more from your videos. Stay safe and GOD bless. 👍
Great content. Quick question. When I send my prints to a local lab soft proofed with an ICC profile, then I'm assuming they should be selecting the right settings in the printer dialog like you showed?
Jose I'm having difficulty finding a clear answer. Do all Print rips replace printer drivers or utilize and optimize existing drivers? I recently updated my driver and it broke my ability to print. I'm using Mac OSX Sierra and updated to the V9.33 driver.
No. Canon printers will automatically match a Canon media type chosen to the proper ICC profile. ICM differs in that it allows to choose a custom profile you may have created.
@@cheo1949 Thank you, Jose. In the Canon software under "Main" tab, when I choose "ICM", then open Photoshop Elements and set color management, it only gives me two choices: Printer Manages Color or PSE manages color. I then select "Printer Manages Color" and it automatically chooses the paper, it does not let me select an ICC paper profile. Am I doing this wrong? When I choose "ICM" in the Canon software, should I then choose "let Photoshop Elements manage color" in order to be able to use a custom ICC profile? I haven't been doing that because I thought that would be double profiling. I need your help to figure this out! Thanks.
You have to remember that Qimage prints through the printer driver so you will be able to access whatever features the driver provides. Nothing whatsoever to do with Q image. It is just an application lime any other which you use to print with or to edit with. Remember it is not R.I.P.
Jose, Thanks for everything. I sometimes use QIMAGE. I heard you say they had a NEW version was available. I want to their website for the upgrade. According to the website the last update was Feb. 2019. The word “ Ultimate “ was never used anywhere. Is there another website ? Where do you get Ultimate ? Thanks again. Tom Vollick
Jose, Apparently there is a second website. I went to the one I used to download Q image One . Binartem.com. It was there I saw the latest upgrade was Feb. 2019 V2019.103. There was no mention of “ Ultimate “. I then went to the link you provided for Ultimate. It was very different. It was however, all for naught, as they don’t offer a Mac version. Thanks for the help. vollick

Amazing success of your channel ,Jose. I remember when you celebrated achieving 1,000 subs. Great work still.
Thank you Gary. It's been a good ride.
Great series, Jose - thanks for the QImage explanation
Thanks.

They will be using their profile for their printer and paper. Not yours. Unless they use the same printer and paper you have.

They take over all functions100%
Jose, are the results the same if either "ICM" or "Driver Matching" are chosen? Is there any difference in print output between those two?
No. Canon printers will automatically match a Canon media type chosen to the proper ICC profile. ICM differs in that it allows to choose a custom profile you may have created.

Jose does Qimage have and advanced black and white print, similar to Epson Print Layout? thanks

But some of these features are already available on Qimage One for MAC and the latest feature will be added to ONE very soon.
Hey Jose....that newest standard image....is it available in your FB group?
Yes. Get the complete pack there.
Wish you could also show this on a MAC
I wish too but I do not own nor use mac. Qimage1 for MAC may incorporate these feature this year.
