Great video! I wonder if this can be done in the newer Siennas? I have a 2024 Sienna. I’d sure like to take some or all of them out. The electric wires could probably be hidden under the rug. My plan now is to scoot them back and build small plywood boxes to cover them.
@stoptaxingme I just finished grinding the driver side center track out and unbolting the passenger side. Grinding is a much bigger pain than the other.... I'm certain that lowering the gas tank would have been even a bigger pain.
Ok cool I don't want to buy an AWD vehicle. I don't want to be suckerd in to replacing all the tires if one or two are only bad. Also alignment is cheaper on front only wheel drive. As for all the crap I have to go through just to camp in a sienna I will buy an older one. The 2004 model I had the seats just came out they were a pain to put back in but not like these rail type. If the mechanism can be removed without the tracks I would leave them in the floor. Well thanks for the bad news now because you saved me tons of money. 73
@@ronb6182 I live in Minnesota and the AWD was sure nice to have tonight driving to work in the winter storm. However, if I didn’t live up here there wouldn’t be any need for the AWD
@@stoptaxingme Nope. I have a 2017 2WD and am stuck at exactly the same place as you. 3 rails out and I can't even see the bolts for the 4th rail because of the gas tank. DAMMIT.
Thanks for your passionate video and your personal investment. I have an AWD, too, and I will not take those things out. I win time.🎉 Have a good one !

Man what a headache but you did it pal. I liked the good riddance, I feel the same!!!😂
Looked for a video like this for two days. Good stuff 👍
Thanks, I did the best I could with my limited abilities....
You’ve gotta get battery powered tools! I almost didn’t take you seriously with those pneumatic things. But great video. Thanks 🙏
had you considered grinding the heads off of the bolts for two "inside" tracks from the top?
The grinder I had didn't even scratch them. Too embarrassing so I didn't post that part. But yes I tried that.

well you just ruined my day, I only have the rails left, but I'm not dropping the gas tank. I will look at things tomorrow when I have had my coffee.
Well it’s only AWD that the gas tanks in the way I believe if that helps. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Can you drill the bolts out from the top of the rail?
