I remember watching my cousin playing the whole game and I really loved the plane chasing level, when I managed to play it myself I was really looking forward to that mission, imagine my surprise when I triggered the bridge scene instead
Rel, first time I was playing that mission I also got the bridge ending and was suprised that this mission was so simple. Tbh airport ending also isn't too hard
Which is why I hated the fact that in the remake, Detective Norman had a newspaper with the Plane Crash story on it. I already knew they made this mission linear, without even having played it yet.
I wish they had added these alternate cutscenes in "Mafia : Definitive Edition" too ! Sometimes I think that the remake of the game is not all it was cracked up to be . Nothing has changed apart from the graphics , our ability to drive a motorcycle and some newly added collectibles ; everything else has pretty much remained the same . In the original game , there were more activities to fling ourselves into which awarded us with a wide collection of cars and we could also interact with other mobsters . In the main story now , we could take the train and tram , in the mission "Happy Birthday" we could access the bar and have a drink and we could also interact with Lucas Bertone who would assign missions sometimes . All in all , even though I respect and appreciate the developers' work , I believe that they could have granted us a bit more freedom ; they could for example provide more amenities like bars , body shops , clothing stores , bounty missions , the ability gain honor and fame like in Red Dead Redemption games , stranger missions etc. I know this would cause some kind of conflict between Hangar 13 and Rockstar , but this would rock the game , make it more intriguing and stimulating to the players .

Salieri would never betray his belief in no drugs but he would still want to make a profit, getting his hands on diamonds would have been enough. But in the DE they made him into a hypocrite who easily betrayed his principles for profit. Drugs do bring a great deal of profit but as Tommy mentions in the original game to Norman, they also bring a great deal of problems, the kind of problems that Salieri wouldn't want.
The remake has awesome graphics but the gameplay an especially the gun play sucks like you can tell it was just thrown together just another soulless cash grab.
No. Everything you just said. NO. You're basically trying to turn this into mafia 3 and that was the worst in the franchise. When people like you say you wish a game had more this and that its really just wishful thinking and sounds good in your head but when it actually is done the result is again mafia 3. These alternate scenes weren't necessarily even in the original they just got added for flavor it doesn't make the game more full of choices. And interact with other mobsters? You mean push thr action button to talk to them and get some generic poorly voiced line of lifeless dialogue that they just repeat over and over again? Yeah real immersive... the things they removed from the remakes were removed because they weren't necessary. The only things I agree were dumb to take out were trains and I also think the way they stripped down the bank heist to were you don't have to do any set up work was really lazy but besides that this is widely considered one of the best remakes ever done and for good reason. You also CAN do jobs for Lucas the game just doesn't tell you when or where but you absolutely can just look up where rhe cars are on Google they are hidden and the honor system just sounds dumb and as you said it would just be them copying Rockstar. I think they have copied Rockstar enough by trying to turn mafia 3 into a borderline gta clone. I always hated when people compared mafia to gta because they are nothing alike but mafia 3 I can't even argue because its true in that case. Anything they do to keep it as much like mafia 1 and 2 and less like mafia 3 the better. Id argue there shouldn't even be an open world. Its heavily story focused so they should keep all their attention on that to make it the best story it could be. Maybe longer too. Mafia has some of the best story telling in gaming and they needa keep that magic not stray away from it
2:20 - Not actually a cutscene, but if you chase Morello to the bridge but you slow down get out of your car near the bridge but before the cutscene is triggered then Morello's driver will also slow down and they will not get into this cutscene. They will just stop and get out of their car trying to shoot you. You can just shoot Morello this way and it is one of the ways to take him down, at least on foot and this way you can get his car. Who else has tried to do that?
The other racers in the PS2-version are from different metal bands, Napalm Death, Cannibal Copse, Morbid Angel etc. I'm not sure was it like that in the final version.
That's why it's so fun to keep exploring this game time after time :) I still find ways to mess with the game and do missions differently or make weird things happen, even after finishing the game 25+ times
Me too, me too... One of the things i love is to cut the way of morelo brother car, when he try to escape to the port, then kill his bodyguard and stole the car and drive with morelo brother who sitting of the back seat :D
I actually had the alternate cutscene in the 7th mission during my first playthrough. I remember it despite it being some 15 years ago because I was arguing with my friends about it and later we discovered there actually alternate cutscenes lol
There is another way to kill Morello,you just have to destroy his car enough, exit the vehicle with Pauli and Sam and kill him and muscle s by gunfire,you can put him out of the car or leave him inside or even drive his corpse in his Silver Fletcher ,but after reloading city from countyside, unfortunately Morello corpse disappear so you can't take him to Salieri's... Unfortunately you can't do the same with Sergio,even if you succeed to kill him during chase,you have to finish the mission You lucky bastard in harbour 🤷🏻♂️

In every run i get the bridge scene. The airport one i understood was possible because was spoiled on the retro cover of the game! At least in the italian one for Pc. In this cover there were also a picture with Paulie killed in another way. That was so crazy a big spoiler there. But this scene i never understood if it was possible to obtain
you dont need a powerful pc, you can get an old laptop, I played it this week on an old pentium 4 laptop ( 30 Euros) , the game only needs a P III cpu..
some people might think 'why is Tommy having a hard time killing these goons that were following Sarah around and are like parasites when he killed many others in that collecting mission when you're outside of town in a motel and Paulie gets shot?' but the thing is what happens during gameplay isn't necessary what happens in the main story-line, they have to give you lots of enemies to kill because it's a game but in the story-line it doesn't mean Tommy kills 400 people, it's a thing called 'Ludonarrative Dissonance' which means in open world games what you do during the gameplay isn't necessarily Tommy doing it, during Gameplay you can kill hundreds of Civilians while in the story the main character has not killed even one Civilian. Edit: I made the wrong example in the comment, when Tommy is talking to detective norman the detective admits knowing about the massacre in the motel which means he's read in the papers or something, but the right example for Ludonarrative Dissonance is the mission where you go to destroy a bunch of cars that are owned by Morello's guys and you can find a way to kill them but in the cut scene it says "we were gone by the time they realized it". Tommy had a hard time killing Billy because killing civilians is different for him, I already knew this so I donno why I made a mistake, it's just that examples of Ludonarrative Dissonance are hard to come by in Mafia unless you kill a lot of people driving or shoot people in the street but in GTA it happens a lot more.

After all, as he says, if the situation was different, Billy wouldn't hesitate to kill you. It presents an interesting moral dilemma. In fact one of the criticisms Daniel Vávra (Mafia's writer) levied against the Definitive Edition was that they made the body count too high. Apparently that's something they specifically tried to avoid in the original.

It doesn't. For starters, NFS has nothing to do with the Mafia franchise. Secondly, you can see the other side in freeride,m it's just an nnfinished bridge spanner the canyon. Thirdly, Empire Bay is based on NYC of New York State, many miles away from where Lost Heaved is meant to be, based on Chicago, Illinois. There is no possible way that the bridge leads to Empire Bay, geographically and by the fact that you see the other side in gameplay.
No Mafia game will ever top the very first one :) This game was way ahead of its time back in 2002 when I played it for the very first time :) Mafia 2 and 3 are trash in comparison!

First of all I meant the dramatic aspect. The characters in the old game were lively, human, and the actors played them much better than in the Definitive edition

@@SQOUREE That's exactly the point, changing the characters of the main characters, changed the essence of the game. In the old game, we saw the story of a good guy in bad circumstances. In the new game, we just see a bad guy. I personally couldn't empathize with the story, so to me the new game for me is just a nice shoot out.

The blinkers make every cutscene way more funnier :D, i think they could had removed this feature just for the cutscenes.

In some cases the original MAFIA is still great, and even better than the definitive edition.
Most cases, just graphics are better in remake. Music was better in original, voices were better, combat was better, weapons were better.

I think Tommy is okay killing people out to kill him directly. Billy was begging him, and he couldn't do it

The more I find out about the original, the more I realise the ‘Definitive Edition’ isn’t really the definitive version because of details like this that give it replayability

Hi, guys, is Mafia worth to buy? I mean there's so many game copy GTA V, and I would like a game with good storyline and stand out compares to other games. (I'm sorry, I sounds bad to compare games here, no offense)
yes, mafia 1 is a great game, the original and the remake are spectacular
I prefer the original...In the remake they changed too much the characters and the dialogues and a lot of it doesn't make sense...The original was perfect...
I liked the morello bridge scene better than the airport one.Too bad they didn't include it in the DE

@@MafiaGameVideos sir despite installing the additional content to spawn cars along with the base trainer in mafia 2 its still not working any suggestion menu works but the cars dont spawn

First of all I meant the dramatic aspect. The characters in the old game were lively, human, and the actors played them much better than in the Definitive edition
@@АлексейКиселев-я1с What? the acting in definitive it's much better than the original, and there's dramatic aspect but i agree on one part, they kinda rushed it with some things and didn't let the characters to take in what just happened, and Tommy it's very changed, in the original you feel like he's kinda dragged in that life where in definitive he's the one who wants it from the start, but other than that Definitive did a good job, it's not perfect by any means but atleast they tried
@@SQOUREE That's exactly the point, changing the characters of the main characters, changed the essence of the game. In the old game, we saw the story of a good guy in bad circumstances. In the new game, we just see a bad guy. I personally couldn't empathize with the story, so to me the new game for me is just a nice shoot out.

Wow, the english dub is so bad! This literally take the spirit away. The airport mission if you let him fly away ? I almost pissed my pants when heard that alternate ending in original, but this ? Too bad english dub did not recieved propper love.
Do i need a steam version for those mods? I have 3 CDs from "kolekcja klasyki" and a mod never worked, tried downpatching to 1.0 also didn't work
