  • Complete guide to growing broccoli from seed to harvest! Growing Broccoli is very satisfying. Broccoli contains many vitamins, minerals, folic acid, and fiber. You can grow Broccoli in Fall or Spring. To grow Broccoli in Fall, start seeds atleast 3 months before the first frost. To grow in spring, start seeds 6 weeks before the last frost date. Sow seeds 1/2 in deep and water well. Transplant broccoli seedlings outside in your garden after 4 to 5 weeks. Use compost as fertilizer or use low nitrogen fertilizer in you garden. Common pest that attack Broccoli are aphids, cabbage worms, and white flies. To protect against aphids and white flies use neem oil and pure castile soap spray. To protect against cabbage worms, use BT or Spinosad spray. Broccoli heads take 3 months to develop for harvest.

    Hello! Thank you so much for this amazing video!! (By the way, your voice is so calming and relaxing!🤗) So this is my very first garden and I have run into a problem - The caterpillars/worms have eaten so many of my poor broccoli leaves so badly that some of them look like skeleton leaves! 😭 I was wondering if I can cut all of the leaves and branches going up the stem with the bad leaves off but just leave the top leaves surrounding the tiny broccoli heads that I see forming. Is there a way to prune broccoli or are my plants goners? Thank you so much for any help! 💜

    Hi, I have a question.
    I am growing Myer lemon plants from polyembryonic seed, 'in a pot' for the last 5 months, they are about 6-10 inches in height.
    the leaves are big and green.
    The problem is there is no new bud for it to grow further for last 1-2 months. It doesn't seem to be growing in height.
    I mean its not growing, no new buds - leaves.
    I use Seaweed extract once in 15 days. Put epsom salt once a month.
    I have not seen see new buds or leaves in over 2 months.
    The plant gets about 5-7 hours of sunlight, the soil is well drained cocopeat +garden soil + perlite + vermicompost.
    What could be the problem?

    Nice video. Your broccoli looks so beautiful. But even though I'm watching this a couple years after you've made the video, you still didn't answer the question I have regarding what to take off of the broccoli plant that has the seeds in it. What part of the flower area actually has the seeds? I wish you would have gone one step further and show us where the seeds are and how to take them off. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Growing broccoli in Central Florida Zone 10 - 9B is a challenge. Anyone have any suggestions for this grow zone and when you plant your broccoli. Thank you for the videos and all the wonderful information you provide.

    • @poonakutty
      @poonakutty 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The flower itself will not contain the seeds. The flowers will be fertilize and develop into long green pods (he shows the green pods in towards the end of the video). Once the green pods start turning brown, that's when u take the pods and get to the seeds
