    You must have done this video on a Saturday because I see my neighbors Kettle corn cart. Great video. If you’re ever back in Arroyo Grande or A G as we call it you’ve got to go to Klondikes’s pizza and Doc Bernstein’s ice cream lab. Enjoy your travels and thanks again for the great videos

      @@TrippyFood cool and may I also suggest Jockos steak house in Nipomo. They open at 4:30 and there’s a line of people waiting to get in. All of their steaks are cooked over red oak, the way we do it here on the coast. Have a great day.

    Fun fact: the pismo clams consumed in Pismo Beach are actually from Mexico.

    • @TrippyFood
      @TrippyFood  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Pismo clam is native to Pismo Beach, but can be found as far south as Baja California. Are you saying they are eating Pismo clams from Mexico, or the clams they're eating aren't Pismo clams at all and are imported from Mexico?

    • @CAwolfguy
      @CAwolfguy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TrippyFood The tivela stultorum (pismo clam) species that is served in CA are actually imported from Mexico/Baja CA, is what I meant. This area is not able to support the harvesting of this clam and has not been for at least 30-40 years.

      That makes sense. I have lived near Pismo for 30 years and there are far fewer clams than I remember back in the 70s. Some of the locals blame it on over harvesting.

      HillbillySelectReviews thanks - I was solo on this one, so I tripoded almost the whole thing. I ran out of camera juice in San Luis Obispo and had to use my iPhone for part of the turkey testicles and gum alley...

    Wow Silver Fox what an awesome video ! So many beautiful things to see in California ! You've inspired me, I really want to take a road trip now ! My favorite thing you showed is the Mission Church , it's so so beautiful ! The kitchen, dining room/area, bathroom, etc. of the indigenous people, I love it !
    The Niagra Falls bathroom is awesome ! Is that really a real clam ? ( Pesmo beach ). That's a huge clam ! The beach is beautiful !
    Awesome, Awesome video ! Thanks ! I'm gonna watch this again lol OMGosh the Ostriches lol Those little ( bleeps ) are mean ! Arizona has an Ostrich Festival in Tucson every year ! I got bitten by one years & years ago & don't trust them. I'd never get within reach of them lol. Although those Ostriches seemed mild mannered lol However, their eating habits are a bit rambunctious lol.
    I would love to go to the little Pastry Cafe & sit outside at that same table that you sat at drinking Coffee & enjoying those delicious pastries, especially the Marzipan pastry, I LOVE Marzipan !! Mmm...Mmmm....Mmmmm!! 😋 My favorite Candy is a Ritter's Sport Chocolate Covered Marzipan Bar!! 🍫 Or the Painted Marzipan fruit Candies from Swiss Colony!! Although I've made these myself !
    ❤️

      1WickedAngel1 yeah, the mission is living history. Skip the Santa Ynez one (it’s a functional Catholic church, while La Purisima is a California state park. There’s so much more I wanted to cover, but I never would have gotten it into a half hour. I might do a part II

      1WickedAngel1 ostriches are OK on a feeding platform but is dangerous to walk around in their pen - the males can get aggressive and a single kick can put you in the hospital or the morgue.

    • @TrippyFood
      @TrippyFood  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      1WickedAngel1 no, the clams are made of concrete - real Pismo clams are much smaller.

      Trippy Food This is exactly what I've been told ! Scary ! I was in my 20's & I went to the Detroit Zoo. I didn't see the sign that was posted "Do Not Touch The Ostriches ". So, it was totally my own fault. But being a huge animal lover, I reached out to pat one & it bit me really hard, Ouch!! So, No Thank You LOL!! 😂

    Pea soup Andersons...bad food since whenever. Over a 40+ year period, I have eaten here about 6 times...no improvement. Good riddance...finally sold off.

    • @TrippyFood
      @TrippyFood  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry you had bad experiences there - I did not. Also, they haven't been sold off. The property that houses the original Andersen's from 1924 in Buellton is being sold (along with the restaurant), but the Santa Nella location is not. In addition, it is assumed that the new owners will keep the restaurant open.
