I LOVE YOU! I am a 63 yr old grand momma (Nana) my life has been a long hard road of never doing anything I wanted. I have lived my life for my family, for everyone else. That’s what I do. Wow! I stayed there In the late 80s with some friends. That creek chilled our beers in no time. I remember the porch being screened in and there was insulation in the bedroom. Good to know it's still there.
I was offered a job to maintain the dams on a hydroelectric project in the High Sierra's a few years ago. The cabin I was going to live in was 2 stories tall because in winter the average snowfall was over 8-10 feet deep during the winters. Ended up having to pass on the job, my mother became very ill and I chose to spend her last months by her side. I wonder sometimes about the path not taken and how my life would have been different. BUT, no regrets, she needed a son who was near and loyalty to family is still more important than adventures. Take that snowmobile trip, Wonderhussy. Do it for me, and my mother. She would have loved your channel. ☮️

Congratulations on achieving Such Bliss and happiness. If the rest of us can't quite get there. Your narration makes up for that. Thank you for sharing. You are my favorite youtuber.
The Eastern Sierra's has so many amazing places to camp and backpack to. Been there enough, I'm friends with the rangers. Such history and beauty, glad another adventure was made.
If you have to go in the woods an outhouse is better than a hole but a nice outhouse to go in is priceless, while in the woods. Lived off grid in northern Cali mountains for a couple yrs. They had a concrete thrown poured. Just had to be scooped out every few months depending on how deep you dug it each time.
Hello wonderhussy. Your friend Ted here. Scenery is gorgeous from there. I think you should have stayed in the cabin but it definitely was the creepy. Don't blame you for staying in the car though. Look forward to seeing you next adventure. Stay safe my friend.
Great video! I just found your channel and am catching up with your adventures. You remind me of my ex wife both physically and with your adventurous spirit. We used to do similar long weekend trips but on a smaller scale. We would camp and hike up and down the northeast from Maine down as far as Virginia. With regard to sleeping in your truck and not the cabin we would often pitch our tent and throw all of our gear in it and sleep in our Chevy Suburban, talk about comfortable "roughing it"! I miss it and her. For the time being I will explore vicariously through your adventures until I get back out there. Stay safe and keep up the great videos!
Glad to see that you made it to the cabin. Last time I was there was on Halloween in the early 90's and yes, the midnight visitor woke me. Staying in your car was a good idea.
Sarah, you qualified as a badass when you did the Havasu Falls Adventure! 8 miles, 2 miles, ladder climbing, 2 miles up, ice cream barcicle , 8 miles more, scorpion, snake, et al....NO MORE QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED DEAR! BEAUTIFUL HAIR!!! WOW!
You were in my old Stompin' Grounds when I was stationed up there on the Eastern Sierra just above Walker CA in the mid 80's. We used to camp in the same type of terrain in the winter and summer. Your secret is safe with me . The Base is just off of Hwy 108 and everywhere between Bridgeport and Reno can be an adventure in itself. Glad you found that bit of Heaven .........
John Maliskey I live on the western side of 108. So is the base responsible for all of the “ boom” sounds we hear and feel over here? There is an entire FB Group here dedicated to the mystery booms and a ton of crazy theories.
I was winter and summer Red Hat qualified. Left there in '87. Was one of the first full time Corpsman instructors in the Medical Cold Weather Course. The only booms I heard was the snow pack settling during or right after a huge snow storm. Big Foot was reported stomping around at times as relayed by back packers on the High Sierra trail.... I never heard them.
@John Alarcon We supplied medical support to the Mountain Leaders Course and camped at the lake often. This was also summer or winter courses. We came down early one time and it had an avalanche about 7 hours later that took out some of the most beautiful scenery ever.
I know that beautiful area well. Quick funny story... Was camping in that area with my husband & 1yo son, 1982. In the morn I was walking, collecting dried wood for a fire, looked up & there was at least 50 Marines with a camp set up. They had come silently in the night, & if I stood still all you could hear was the wind in the trees. Haha, these guys were having breakfast SILENTLY. I loved it, have always supported our military, but I’ll bet they were laughing inside while waiting for me to see them! 🇺🇸
@@kristymoore7052 The base is used to dispose of old ordnance and that is why you hear those occassional booms. Nothing mysterious, they did it a lot more in the 70s as some WWII ordinance was becoming unstable and dangerous. They also did experiments with new explosives. A friend of mine was a conscientious objector and chemist and that is where the Army sent him. He was the one who told me some of what they do there. It isn't like it's Area 51.
Thank you for a nice adventure into the Sierras! It looked like you had a great, peaceful evening! Looking forward to your next adventure! Stay safe and awesome! 🧧🤙🌺🌅🍷
You one brave lil lady. I sure do enjoy you're videos. Was stationed in Nevada 69/70 and worked off of Hwy 50. Ya videos bring back some good memories. Thanks. Good luck and stay safety.
I really appreciate that you don't give the exact location of places like this. it help keep places like this intact and safe from those who would destroy places like this. great video
Enjoy your videos. You are dynamic and seem like you love life and trying new things. Overnight in that location must have been a blast. Looking forward to your next adventure.
I think I already said this once, and I'll say it again, Please Sarah, "GET A WINCH PUT ON YOUR TRUCK" lol Always be prepared when alone out there, that winch, if nothing else, will save you a ton of time not having to wait for a tow or other help. Great vlog as always, be safe
Get a receiver put on the Front of your truck if possible and a Winch mounted on a 2" hitch so you could position it at front or rear of vehicle. You have been lucky so far.... I wouldn't go in that cold pool, even with You nekkid! Always tell someone responsible where you are going.
I just spent sometime at my land tent camping in Northern NM. Being by yourself is a little wierd but I also love it. I did some videos and a blog on it area. Love what you do, keep it up!
Can't go wrong leaving medical supplies, better to be prepared. Lovely cabin, thanks for taking us along. PS, Also thanks for reading part of the sign in sheets. I could have done that half the night. lol Also, a drone shot of that general area would have been nice. Don't see a lot of pine trees in the south. Stay safe, Love from Laughlin.
I saw in one of your other videos that your cooking pots were getting black on the bottom. Clean them up with a Brillo pad and before you use them again, rub Fels-Naptha soap all over the bottom and sides of the pot. The soot will be on the outside of the soap and will wash off easily.
I stayed in that cabin in 1974 with my friend Dave Denton in a Spring snow storm. It wasn't QUITE abandoned because as we were setting up for dinner a grizzled old mountain hermit came back and told us to vacate the premises with a few profanities thrown in. We didn't think it belonged to him and told him we were not leaving because of the weather or else we'd be happy to leave. He got pissed and pulled and .45 Colt on us and told us to go. I pulled out my 44 mag and Dave pulled out his piss poor H&K 22. The ole hermit said, "Shit! You got me, you can spend the night!" I told him,"Fine, but give me your .45 first" and he gave it to us. His name was "Bud", he wouldn't give us his real name, but he was happy as Hell because we brought Jim Beam Bourbon. He actually supported himself by gold panning and selling handmade wood trinkets he carved during the long winters. He thought we were going to steal his food supplies. My guess was that he was an escaped convict hiding in the mountains. We never said anything to anyone at the time. Figured that he didn't shoot us outright so he wasn't that bad, bet that grave is his.
Code Red, Imagine what would have happened if it was a lone women with no gun. Maybe that’s her grave. Seriously someone should excavate that grave. Could be a missing person.
Wonderhussy, been watching your videos on and off for about a year and just subscribed recently but this is the first time you have been to a place I've been to several times over the last fifteen years or so. I recognized it as soon as I saw the cabin. I'm guessing you didn't find the geocache hidden just under the front of the cabin to the left. Also you didn't mention the old log cabin just up from the cabin at about the the top of that clear area above the cabin. There is only a few logs left to each wall now. The road continues up the canyon but is pretty much a ATV trail. I have never stayed at the cabin because we always camp in our motorhomes and trailers just the other side of the highway at the pass there just behind a hill just out of view of the highway. This is a pretty "sweet" area if you know what I mean. This is a nice place to go when the temperatures are high in the lower altitudes during the summer. Keep up the good work and thanks for a look at some of the places I haven't been able to get to yet.
Hello, Maam: I watched this whole video all the way through after work last night and thought about writing a comment today, so here I finally am doing that now just before midnight. I was impressed by your talking. I have watched a number of your videos before, and this work was another one that kept my attention. Have a Great Time, John
All the necessities of a fine backwoods cabin, and none of the rat droppings. Jackpot! 12:19 Yup. That's the best way to travel: nobody wants to go to bed or get up before you do, nobody wants something different for dinner or breakfast, nobody's snoring wakes you up, nobody wants to leave and go home before you do, and everyone there has a good time. You're a hoot, Sarah. Stay safe out there.
I loved my 4runner when I had it. Love your adventures Wonderhussy. And for the fear spreaders with the CCW and bears and Mtn lions and shit. She has done this a hundred times. She is more equipped than any of us!!
I'm sorry for whatever thing has made you unhappy and give up modeling, etc. Sometimes it takes some alone time to heal. I hope your healing is progressing. Your vids are always a bright spot in my day
You are correct about Vegas being too hot. Even my car show guys took a week or two off in Vegas; no SAT or SUN sho from Rodder Files. Enjoyed this one, thanks for posting, from Texas
There were many times I was camping and a cabin like that would have been better than a three star hotel. Thanks for the video tour. Every mountain cabin needs a field trauma kit for those paper cuts on the Pamela Anderson notebook. That hot water heater is equiped with too many bullet and buckshot holes.
I enjoy watching you on your site I stumbled onto you in the middle of a sleepless night, You are very expressive and fun to watch, I may have become addicted or something. SanFernandoValley,Calif, 1/1/21 RIP Don
Wonderhussy Swear to God girl this is better than an episode of Bonanza! I'm talking prime time! I'm even watching the rerun! You know better than to ever kiss a Cartwright. 😆
I know exactly where that cabin is. Been there 6-7 times over the years. If you check the cabin log book you'll find my name or K6TPK, listed numerous times. One time I came up there in my FJ40 Land Cruiser and manged to get up the road on the other side of the creek since it was a drought yr and water level was way down. Found some nice iron ore specimens that I have out in my front yard. Normally, the water is too deep to ford, but you can hike up the road. That road isn't all that bad coming up to the cabin. It used to be a lot worse back in the 70's, 80's and 90's. Another good place to visit is Boulder Flat which is not too far up the hiway from where the cabin is. I'm a long-time member of the Mono Lake Committee and knew David Gaines well. Lee Vining is my favorite hangout spot to work out from. Haven't been back there since 2005 tho. I got lots of video and slides of the old cabin and that area in general. I love the Eastern Sierra and have been prospecting and investigating old mines/camps since 1972. Love your vids, especially the one at your Mom's place in Norcal. I got 2 huge Sequoia Sempervirens growing in my yard. Planted them in 1976 when I moved to Clyde (North Concord). Stay well and enjoy the old cabin. Cheers.
You should bring Fred with you on your trips. Dogs can be a life saver... thanks for the videos, you do a great job and are a very interesting and entertaining person....
Ahhh there's my Sarah!!!! Lol ,that looks like a awesome place there . I like that hot water shower must be for winter time washing up lol!!! . Stay safe love ya 😁
It was so odd. I turn on my Roku go to TH-cam channel and there is this brunette standing in front of a cabin I recognized... So I had to watch the video. And ironically I was supposed to be camping in that area and we had planned to go to that cabin over 4th of July weekend. Unfortunately the camping trip got canceled. Sorry I missed you. I would have had no clue who you were then. So glad I found your channel. Great intel.
Don't look now, but your IV bag looks like a foley catheter collection bag for urine! Yikes! Why did he give you that! He must have a twisted sense of humor. Love it! What a great cabin and grounds. Love the shower set up. And as usual, you are a great story teller! Stay safe!
Boy i swear lady you find the coolest places I'd of tried to stay there at least till someonecelse showed up b4 leaving. Lol that hot shower invention was the bomb. How neat was that.
Hi WH, Salmon season is opening at the Columbia River -Pacific Ocean. ALSO, gold prospecting on the Pacific Ocean beach. See you soon as the weather is great 70ish, fog, little breeze.
I found a cabin that looked just like that in the woods. I was about to open the door to check it out but heard a woman talking to herself inside. Freaked me out so bad I spent the night in the woods with the bears.
Wonderful place to camp. I would love to find that cabin. Thanks for sharing. Just found it. I am going to be living in Minden, NV so will have to make a trip up there. I will keep your secret.
Beautiful!, I have seen many cabins in the backcountry up there. Backpacking I prefer my bivy and Gatewood Cape, but I would explore that and camp nearby. Thank you for taking us along.
Lol I’ve actually been to that cabin and stayed the night in there before. My friend who took me had me slightly nervous about a bear though that occasionally would cause some chaos. The bear Busted a window once which my friend then replaced. but the scenery is beautiful and it is definitely secluded. That’s awesome you go explore places like that. The cabins been there for a while, which you could probably read from some of the carvings in the wood inside the patio. And the book. I enjoy your videos. Thanks for doing what you do.
Very cool location. People don't think of CALI having Aspen trees but you can find small groves even in the San Bernardino Mtns. Word is the Beavers decimated most of the Aspen groves even into Mexico.
Yeah! You made it. I'm the one who carved the elevation on the front porch. Glad you made it. Very nice hiking up there.
I've always been blown away by every hunters camp I've ever ran across. The time & effort put into the construction out in the middle of nowhere makes these places a God send at times when the weather changes.

Bill Williams stayed there in that cabin the day I was born!! Over 62 years ago. Cool.
I must say when you let your hair down your hair is so beautiful

What a lovely lady, and so brave, staying all on her own in such a wild place.

What a gem of a place, not "creepy" at all. Having a ball seeing you on these little adventures.

This is a pretty "sweet" area if you know what I mean. This is a nice place to go when the temperatures are high in the lower altitudes during the summer. Keep up the good work and thanks for a look at some of the places I haven't been able to get to yet.
Wonderhussy and the three bears 🐻 lol 😂
Hello from Ontario Canada Wonderhussy, love your videos. I lover your sense of humor.
Hello, Maam: I watched this whole video all the way through after work last night and thought about writing a comment today, so here I finally am doing that now just before midnight. I was impressed by your talking. I have watched a number of your videos before, and this work was another one that kept my attention. Have a Great Time, John
I could feel that water, love this, wish I could be there.
You are the BEST!! Where you find these gold mines full of interesting adventures makes a person's life seem boring.
All Things Bright and Wonderful is a book about a vet - James Herriot and his adventures with his clients' pets in Yorkshire! Amazing read.
I loved my 4runner when I had it. Love your adventures Wonderhussy. And for the fear spreaders with the CCW and bears and Mtn lions and shit. She has done this a hundred times. She is more equipped than any of us!!
JUST 3 WORDS! YOU ARE AMAZING! great fun and entertainment! ENjoy life, dear one!
Great backwoods cabin and another adventure. Take Care and Stay Safe Wonderhussy!!!!
Yes. And most outstanding adventure. Thank you for sharing. Have a super wonderful day.
Wonderhussy
Swear to God girl this is better
than an episode of Bonanza!
I'm talking prime time!
I'm even watching the rerun!
You know better than to ever kiss a Cartwright. 😆
A favorite of your videos.
Thanks for taking me along!
Your one gutsy lady! Wish I"d met someone like you thirty odd years ago. Stay safe!
Love your fascinating and fun adventure videos, Sarah. 🥰Stay safe and well
Ahhh there's my Sarah!!!! Lol ,that looks like a awesome place there . I like that hot water shower must be for winter time washing up lol!!! . Stay safe love ya 😁
nice to see there still nice ppl out there
It was so odd.
Hell yeah girl it may not be the Ritz but it sure looks like heaven! I can't wait to get on the road! ❤
That's a nice one!! I have a 4x4 huge truck now but don't quite have the skills yet.. I'm so worried to break a $450 tire!!
Don't look now, but your IV bag looks like a foley catheter collection bag for urine! Yikes! Why did he give you that! He must have a twisted sense of humor. Love it!
What a great cabin and grounds. Love the shower set up. And as usual, you are a great story teller! Stay safe!
Good for you, lots of credit for staying the night !!
binge watching W. H. all week, she should try comedy on stage! Such genious!
That was the coolest cabin you have ever been at.
Great cabin find. Well kept.
I love it when your hair is down.
Good story again.
PS: I have fishing gear if you need it, and spare shovel & gold pan.
That was perfect in every respect. A well rounded episode. Kudos ~ Mike
I found a cabin that looked just like that in the woods. I was about to open the door to check it out but heard a woman talking to herself inside. Freaked me out so bad I spent the night in the woods with the bears.
The Fenn treasure has been found!
Wonderful place to camp. I would love to find that cabin. Thanks for sharing. Just found it. I am going to be living in Minden, NV so will have to make a trip up there. I will keep your secret.
My sunset recommendation would be, a nice indica hybrid, with a Sierra Nevada Torpedo on ice! Cheers to comet watching....!
You are never alone with S&W. Very nice cabin
You are a brave girl getting into that freezing cold spring .
Beautiful!, I have seen many cabins in the backcountry up there. Backpacking I prefer my bivy and Gatewood Cape, but I would explore that and camp nearby. Thank you for taking us along.
I think that place is perfect to stay in, I would stay there as long as I could! Makes you wonder about the people who have passed through there
Lol I’ve actually been to that cabin and stayed the night in there before.
Come on Sarah, I've slept on the ground in the Sierra's
Just like a cold stream, just jump on in and get it over with. You're Awesome, keep it up!
