Rebecca Yang - Speckle | Epic Piano Music

LAST PIECE OF 2021!!
And yeah, this was uploaded after 12am but I finished the piece in 2021...thus continuing on a now-5-year streak of Dec 31 pieces :P

Anywho, I myself haven't even heard this thing in full yet. That's literally how much I was rushing at the end to get it done LMAO

Sooooo this piece was originally supposed to be a 'darker' epic piano solo, which is different from my usual 'brighter' style mood-wise. Except it kinda morphed to include some anime-style stuff as well, which I find hilarious cause I don't even watch anime. I initially also considered this a sequel of Mystique, and even thought about quoting parts of Mystique in here (the name Speckle actually refers to how a star appears to be a tiny speckle in the sky, which is quite similar to Mystique's intended imagery) - but it's evolved so much that now I think it should be its own separate thing :P
Also! The descending figure you hear at 0:59 (which is also kinda used as a "motif" throughout this piece) is from Avalanche by Two Steps from Hell. I'm aware that it's a fairly common figure that's used in a lot of music, but Avalanche in particular was what inspired my use of it, so yeah ^^
