    10 months only for inoculation. What love and dedication 👍🏻

    If you bore a hole in the middle of the log you can pack it with spores. I also drill lots of large holes on the sides right into the middle hole and pack those too. You end with the entire log covered in mushrooms.

      That is a traditional Japanese mushroom inoculation method. I developed this method because a log with many holes is not suitable for ornamental purposes.

    If incubating for 10 months leave the cover on top but not closed up. A sealed up container will trap CO2 that the growing mycelium throws off, build up heat & slow growth.

      So it will be helpful. thank you!

    The technique!! Love this, no drilling or plugs required, thanks for your expertise. Working on my own with Panellus stipticus.

    Wow. Beautiful. Find myself without words. But i do have a question, if you know. Why does it take 10 months to cure in container? I always thought that mushrooms grow rather quickly. ❤

    If you don't mind my asking, what soil/substrate do you typically use for your terrariums, and how long do they last before the mycelium deplete the log and it no longer fruits?

    I love this and I have questions.
    1. Where can I get the Mushroom growing mix in the US
    2. How long do these mushrooms last?
    3. Do new mushrooms keep growing?

    • @kinocorium
      @kinocorium  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1.I don't know anything about Japan, but I think it's probably sold at an online shop.
      2.1 to 2 weeks.
      3.There will be a second flush in about a month. Same for the third time.

      northspore is a good source for edible mushrooms in the US but I'm not sure about smaller forest mushrooms like the ones in the video. most mushrooms start sprouting when the mycelium has completely inoculated its food source, and you can often expect multiple "flushes" of mushrooms depending on how much nutrition the mycelium can get out of the food source as well as things like temperature and humidity. the specifics all depend on which species you pick, so do a little reading once you pick one to buy

    • @apdroidgeek1737
      @apdroidgeek1737 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      But the method is hard, are they worth it? Will they keep growing indefinitely?

    • @GamingCentralPlayer
      @GamingCentralPlayer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@apdroidgeek1737 The log is being broken down by the mushrooms so sooner or later the log will break down and soften up. Depending on the size of the log they will keep growing until the source is used up.
