NEW Otis Compass Plus Gen2 Elevators at Disney's Coronado Springs - Gran Destino Tower, Orlando, FL

These are the elevators at the NEW Gran Destino Tower at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. This is Walt Disney World's FIRST Destination Dispatch! The Paradise Pier Resort in Disneyland (California) also has Otis Compass, but those are mods. I felt that Disney would never get Destination Dispatch. Although it's a good idea, the GP doesn't like it at all. A lot of people get confused, annoyed, and frustrated at the system. When I was here, I overheard at least two people talk about how confusing the system is, and even saw somebody try to get on a car that wasn't going anywhere (until I told them). I feel like Disney wouldn't have implemented this system because they would realize (from systems in other places) that they would have a lot of agitated people, the last thing the happiest place on Earth needs. However, Disney went through with this one, and at least I'm happy about it. I talked to a Cast Member that said they are working opening day at the upcoming Disney's Riviera Resort, and he said that they "will have a specialized elevator system similar to this one", meaning that they are also getting DD. These elevators are very nice, as with the resort. They go 500 FPM, which is the maximum speed for Gen2s. This being Disney, I think they could have put two more cars in. Disney often has a lot of elevators to keep the crowds moving. For example, the main bank of elevators at Animal Kingdom Lodge (Jambo House) has 5 cars for 6 floors. In comparison, this is 6 cars for 16 floors, so the ratio is far off, but based of my first experience, I haven't had any long waits, so I think they are doing alright.
