Corin, is there any reason why one cannot use the impedence adapter to increase the level of bass response in any other suitable pair of head/earphones?
A budget IEM with insane canon like bass and from FatfreqxHBB was a HOLD MY BEER moment. Got them on pre-order. Crin's got me feeling hyped now. Much love, cant wait to have them!!
I tried it 2 weeks ago (at Hangout, of course) After letting my impressions ruminate a little bit, I might consider getting one even though my first listen, though positive overall, felt a little annoying because the bass was just so intrusive on the otherwise VERY clean sounding IEM 🤣 I actually prefer these over both their Mini models simply because it has the best tuning and the best timbre
I strongly disagree that not having metal in an IEM is a con. Its a preference. That's it. I own both metal and resin IEMs and I prefer resin by far. It's lighter and so much more comfortable in my ears. The only point at which I'll call a build bad is when it's prone to breaking or falling apart. For eg: the trn v20, tangzu waner etc
I'm actually happy that it's made of plastic because I realised recently last year that i developed an allergy to metal on my ear and metal shell IEMs actually cause my ear to get ear eczema if I use one for more than 2hrs. And because of that, despite owning the 7hz Legato I can't use it for long durations... (or maybe 7hz is the issue because 7hz Timeless AE and Legato are the only 2 IEMs i own that have a metal shell)
@@RocketLauncherwithInfiniteAmmo Legato is fairly rounded though and i can develop allergy from it too. Also, it's not the eartip's fault as I've used other eartips that worked fine with plastic IEMs.
Plastic or full resin shells are definitely the safest. Those hybrid builds like resin shells with metal nozzles are not ideal as the metal nozzles are usually poor quality and they can rust when its coating wears off. Unfortunately, most brands use a resin shell to get the semi-custom design but then they glue it to a metal nozzle, and it's usually the metal nozzles that breaks down overtime.
I think Resin shells are very underrated. They generally provide a way better fit and seal. I’d take that any day over some dense metal that hurts your ears and is too heavy to stay in place (I’m looking at you, Kato…pos!)

Does it make a difference if I use a Tube Amp or an Impedance Adapter? Or can I basically buy Impedance Adapters with the Output Impedance of a Tube Amp and save myself from the whole Tube Amp rabbithole? Not about the Deuce, maybe with a HD600 or so
Impedance adapters only work with dual dd items as it leverages the difference in impedance between the two dd drivers. So it'll work with the truthear zero and zero red and any other dual dd iems
