  • It’s been three months since entrepreneur and political activist Rob Hersov shared his perspectives with the BizNews tribe. He does so here with trademark frankness in a thoughtful interview with BizNews editor Alec Hogg. The straight-shooting canary in SA’s political coal mine shares insights gleaned from his own experience and wide range of contacts. As always, when Hersov talks - it’s a must-watch.

South Africa deserves its place in the pantheons of the greatest nations on this planet. Our history says so, our potential screams that it be so. We need politicians to give South Africans a chance to be that.

Funny enough, his actions and bravery to physically walk through Robert's Circle(Westbury) without SANDF support or advanced law enforcement(not done since the 1950s) has actually caused skilled mercenaries that are affiliated with the 26s/27s/Fast Guns and Varadors to have a presence around vulnerable farms that supply our listed retail companies to stop race-based killings and the ANC is aware now that Gayton can be backed by individuals powerful enough to wipe out the ANC, EFF and other hateful organizations in SA due to the fact that he has a constituency with logical and patriotic people that actually believe in Gayton. He is iconic and I'm so grateful that he is doing what he is doing while staying consistent and unfiltered for the bigger picture in this amazing country we are in.

The EFF and the MK are racist, delusional, falsely-entitled and terrible people that have no say thanks to the PA, DA and VF+ people who actually evolve and advance our country with their 1st world type management/approach of their departments which is what SA tax payers deserve and that's facts. Hopefully this comment doesn't get deleted as it has 0% racist connotations and 100% facts.

In the opening statement, replace PA with FF+ and that entire statement would still be 100% accurate. The problem with the DA is that they never embraced multi party politics. They see any compitent party as a political threat rather than an ally. They're stuck in a two party mindset.

The DA are arrogant and it’s embarrassing. Many years ago I supported them to the extent that I was an observer at a vote counting station over to national elections, they have lost my support. They rely on their mantra of being the only viable alternative… when in practice they are self absorbed and power hungry. They need to move with the times and act is SA’s best interests and not their own.

I humbly admit being wrong about Gayton, in general. But, I do believe we need clearer rules as to who qualifies to represent the people of SA in the National Assembly. Gayton was a convicted armed robber. Surely this would have disqualified him in most democracies around the world. But as a person I think he speaks to the millions of young men in SA who turn to crime. He is a healthy role model for rehabilitation.

It will take me some time to buy into Gayton McKenzie. Suddenly into Christianity, denying that we are a secular state, Where is the R3million raised for Beaufort West, the eradication of pit toilets that he promised, repairing public swimming pools etc. He is a good orator and politician, and he has good ideas and is saying the right things, but by his own admission, he and Julius Malema cannot govern (I have the video). One rugby match shown by our public broadcaster (the second one wasn't), does not equal success. The jury is still very much out on him.
