Thanks, these tutorials are so helpful!
I'm glad you like them my friend. Cheers
Hi bro from india I have some doubts how to set a measurement for each track ?
Hi, friend! I have seen that at minute 4:20 a message appears "looper too busy" that message appeared to me and after a while it froze, having to turn it off but from the current, I had to send it to the warranty and in the end they changed the board base, now it no longer does it, has it happened to you that it freezes? greetings!
Te echamos de menos amigo!!!
With all the jumpcuts, especially with the undo/redo demo starting 2:40, it's impossible to tell what exactly is happening. Why would you jumpcut through pressing the buttons?
Excuse me! Is there anyway for undo/redo the settings that made by mistake?! For example a value change in a fx or a track that cleared by mistake? Like what we do in a DAW!
Thank you. Curious how to: Once you have spent time setting up preferred effects settings, how to simply copy/repeat that setup to all 99 sessions?
Save all those settings on one empty memory, then save whatever you make in that memory with those effects in another memory.
Hey Arterium! I think Franko's solution might be the best. When you press enter + write it prompts you to choose a name for the memory and you can also choose which memory number.
However I think there is a alternate method where you can set some settings to be stored on memory and others on the whole system. I'll check it out later today and come back to you
@@LoopArtist Thank you. Yes I have used the save to a new memory option but would be nice to easily spread across all memory channels. Much appreciated.
I agree. I've checked it myself and unfortunately there's no other way. There are some settings you can choose to store in the memory or in the system but not the effects.
Let's hope Boss comes out with an update that enables some global configurations like this
@@LoopArtist Thank you for checking. Legend move! … Yes BOSS! THIS feature. Please and thank you. Great product. Make better. 👑 And BOSS, MKII video tutorials?!
Yessss love it
anyone know if you can apply FX to a rhythm track 505 MKII?
hi, i just bought the rc 505 mkII, i was looking to find out how to have a count (eg 4 beats) before rec stars, all info I find is on the older models (completly diferent now) and can't figure out how to do it. can someone pls tel me how to set it up?
hi, could you make a video where you explain how to set up to be able to record a video in live performance?
Hey Cristian! Sure! It's already in my video ideas list 😉
Hey Arthur and other commenters reading this. I got a niche question about the control function change. In play mode (so not undo/redo mode) I tend to accidentally press the square button twice instead of once, which clears the entire track just like holding the button. I don’t want it to clear when pressing it twice, I just want it to stay muted so I can unmute it at any time. Is there a way to change this function?
Hey man, where are you? Your videos helped me a lot, please come back!
Quick question about the bug vs feature things. Are you on version 1.1 or 1.3 cuz i know now when u buy the mk2 u have to update the hardware to 1.3
Do you do one on one lessions?
Good vídeo Arthur !
I have a doubt and i hope you can help me.
I saved Money for mk2 but now Thays i'm going to buy i see many vídeos on TH-cam talk about bugs, which not worth the price.
Can you give opinion about This issue ? Because i really want That machine .
Thanks for the time
Hey there! Sure! So I think it all comes down to what exactly do you want to accomplish with the RC, what kind of performance do you want to achieve. It's one hell of device for sure with infinite possibilities but if you have a bit of a musical background you will get what you want faster. And if you don't, expect a steeper learning curve. As for the bugs in my experience they are all pretty much gone. There are some here and there but nothing ground breaking. Besides, this is one of the latest Boss's devices. They will continue to update it for the next years for sure
Hey great video.
Just some questions. Can you start looping immediately or does it have a few seconds to and be on time of the set
tempo.
Also Once something is looping can you adjust the speed of that loop on the fly live and add effects to that loop on the fly live. Thanks
Has to be on tempo and yes
Hi, You use the RC-505, with the guitar, wouldn't you prefer the RS600? just wondering
Great question! I've considered the 600 but I guess I prefer having the looper on a tabletop and controlling it with my hands instead of my feet. Also the layout of the 505 makes more sense to me
@@LoopArtist thanks! I think that’s also my opinion :) and what about this and the Akai mpc one? I understood, you can also use that as a looper - bit it gives far more possibilities… although it would be a bit trickier switching tracks/loops with the tiny buttons 😬…
is this possible with the boss rc 505 mk1 too?
Hello brother, how are you? I only have two questions.....one is how to place the volume of the rhythm on the main screen.....and the other is where is the rec count off??? because before recording I want you to throw me a drink thanks
hello! very good tutorials, I have a push 2 and an rc-505 mkii and I want to do a live act with them but I don't know how to connect them to make it work, I plan to do finger drumming with the push 2 mainly, also launching samples, composition clips pre-recorded bass, synthesizers and other digital instruments and I want to use the Rc-505 to record live vocals, choirs, ambient sounds with my mouth but I don't know how to do the configuration in ableton and the rc-505 to achieve connectivity and not having problems with the Bpm and the audio does not cut out.
Hey Joshua! Thanks man. I'm not familiar with the Push 2 but I guess you could try to connect both via USB and setting the RC to vendor mode and loop out mode. That way the RC would be picking all your computer's sound, including everything you do on Ableton with the Push 2. Hope that helps. Take a look at my "recording on pc" video, it might help
I am still sticking to the old one, I heard this MKII has so many bugs?! Can you guys confirm that, I will give this machine another few years or so and hope they'll fix it. So many negative videos about it on YT!
In my honest opinion, if you're happy with the mk1 just keep it.
Honestly, I don't think you're missing much on the mk2.
I don't think the bugs are such a big issue anymore but feature wise, I feel it's pretty damn close to the mk1
Had a lot of issues in the beginning but now it's been a lot of time since I had one tbh
Brez made an update video on the issues and they fixed many bugs. You can download the updates online. I am very happy with my mk2. It has less bugs now. I am a beatboxer and I like the features of the mk2 very much. If you are a beatboxer I definitly recommend the mk2. If you use many other instruments, then you arent missing out many things.
Quite contrary imo -if you are using many instruments, mk2 is the way to go. Separate inputs (4 if you go mono or 2 stereo) you can route inputs to separate tracks and input FX. It was a HUGE downside in MK1 that everything they goes into the looper is recorded. Now all your syths can play simultaneously but only one gets recorded and each of them can go through separate FX.
@@didgeridoojedithis is what would be a game changer for me and the only reason I want to upgrade. I’ve only had the mk1 two years but love it!
6:07 BROOO PLS NEVER PRESS THE LOOP SCREEN THAT HARD AGAIN, it hurts me just thinking about it😫
Hi, there’s some effects which I’m not really sure about:
.Synth
.Lofi
.Sustainer
.Slow Gear
.Oscillator Vocoder
Could you please explain how they work?
Hey potatoes! Sure! There will be a video dedicated entirely to FXs. I'll make sure to include these ones ;)
Oscillator vocoder requires midi/launchpad but it’s basically osc bot but manual
When going to undo state I press play to go one loop back - to loop A+B. If i press stop, then I go to loop A, but then if i press play, i go to loop A+B+C, thats fine.
But if i press play again, to go one loop back, i find that both loop B and C stop, because B and got merged. Anybody else noticed that?
Hey man! Love the video's you put out!
I got a request :]
Can you explain how to use footswitches like the Boss FS-6 and an expression pedal, because I cannot for the life of me figure out how it works :(
Thanks a lot,
The Toilet
Hey toilet!
Thanks for the comment.
I don't have a FS-6 to make a tutorial with unfortunately but the process should be the same as I explain in my "assign settings" video.
Hope that helps a little
boss needs to pay you - thank u garcon au revoir bellisimo!
Uh I wish they did haha. Thanks my friend
Is there a way to change the default input and track fx?
Hey JayD!
Unfortunately not at the moment.
You can however save your preferred FXs multiple times into all the 99 memory slots.
Let's hope Boss makes an update with this feature soon
What I do is create songs on memory 99 which I named ‘beat maker’ and then just save them to the next free spot.
This memory has my preferred fx
Hello Arthur, thanks for your videos, they really help, I'm already subscribed. I have two questions for you, one is a problem that I have with my rc 505 mk2 when I record the 5 tracks it saturates and sometimes it hangs, freezes and I have to unplug it of the current, before warning with a message that says something like loop busy... has it ever happened to you if you record the tracks with more seconds in each one of them?
And the other question is, do you know how to record directly without going through the PC and do it on a Zoom h4 type recorder to record the sessions live. Thanks Arthur!!! a pleasure, greetings from Spain!
Saludos Enrique!
Man, I had a freeze happen to me just once back on firmware 1.04. After updating never had it again. Guess I'm lucky.
"Looper busy" errors I still get some every now and then but they never needed me to unplug my unit from the wall as it always returned on its own. I guess we'll have to wait for newer firmwares to see if they are completely gone.
As for recording with the Zoom H4, I don't own one so I'm not entirely sure but looking through pictures it seems it's just a matter of connecting a 1/4" cable from the RC's main output to one of the Zoom's inputs.
The routing should be the same as I explain on my "recording on a PC" video.
Hope that helps my friend
@@LoopArtist Hello!!
Thanks for answering!
ok then I'll wait for the next version and check, I'll tell you, it's something that worries me. I don't know if it's because I connect too many things, I have Alexis drums connected to the loop, a ukulele, a piano, guitar and a microphone. I don't know if it would be better to connect all this to a mixer. I'll try it since right now I don't have one.I'm also behind testing the portable recording of the zoom, I'll tell you.
Cheers man! luck! obrigada!
Hiiii. I love youuuu ❤
Love youu 💕
You should state "UNDO/REDO" button in the actual title of the music video. I'd imagine you'd get more views because people know exactly what the video is about. But if you get more views with the vague title, go for it.
