@@jake_spence its def much harder than people think. I think you spend twice as much time working on the car trying to record than you would without it. I ended up deleting 3 hours of DIY because when watching back I completely messed up the angle hahaha. Not to mention the amount of time spent editing. I'm still sorting it all out while trying to keep it fun.
What about body panels? I know fiberglass is sorta cheap crappy stuff but I know the steel panels are heavy. Could always keep them for later on... Brakes and suspension of course but you got those.

Nice! I didn't get the rear panels. I just removed mine completely. I don't have an exact measurement on clearance gained, but it's a decent amount. Whatever the width of the stock panel is.

Man, you went from nice street car to kind of gutted thing so quickly. You're going to regret it! Door cards look nice. Wish they tired a little harder to have some mold and contour. I think you'll miss the arm rest a lot.
No bro am more gutted then he is you are not going to regret it. He has other cars to drive if something. When your car weights 400 pounds less and you do like half a second faster on the quarter mile you will be so happy you did that lol
I know it's not for everyone, but I think I'll be happy with the results. I've taken hundreds of pounds out of the car, which is meant to go fast. It's heavily modified and the whole purpose is to go fast. It does still see the street, so I'm keeping the important things. We'll see how it plays out, I'll keep everyone updated on my thoughts. Haven't driven it like this yet.

I weighted my car with the smaller battery that weights 20.8 pounds (original is 60.8 or so I weighted them) and my e92 335 was at 3120 lbs.
The project is cool and I love your content. It might be lighter but IMHO this defeats the daily driver value to this car. But that’s a CA guy that is 2x your age talking; I sit in traffic M-F so this would be cool but not comfortable.
Haha, it's far from a daily driver. I haven't daily driven this car for a while now, that's what my 335i is for. I'm building it for the purpose of going fast at this point, but it will still see the street. Luckily the roads are great around here with little traffic. Perfect for cruising.
The old "rule" is 100 lbs equals a 1/10 second in 1/4 mile. Is it worth it???? If it were a pure drag car I'd say yes. But not for a car I drive daily.

@@jake_spence Looks like it was a nylon insert lock nut. They don't usually need Locktite.
Just checked and they are indeed nylon locking nuts. No loctite needed!

I just swapped out the hood, trunk and sunroof. Video coming soon on those!

Did the the speaker sound change? And did the noise of closing the door change?
I can't tell much of a difference in either. The door does't sound much different, honestly. Maybe slightly louder.
How do u remove door handle? Just got my panels but I’m trying to remove the handle off the oem panel.

Why would you cut the door seal instead of just peeling it? The butyl goes right back on
Does the locking pin annoyingly rattle over bumps now? And does central locking still work properly?
I haven't driven it yet, but if it does rattle, I'll put some insulation around it. The central locking still works perfectly.

Flywheels, yes. The twin disc clutch/flywheel set up I have now is lighter than stock.
